I guess y'all would have a problem with the way Terry Funk and Roddy Piper would sell and make faces, too.

I don't think there is a least impressive member of the Shield, at least not one who sticks out as bad. They all fit very well together, have great chemistry, and each one has a niche that highlights his strengths imo. Ambrose is my favorite, I think he's great on the mic and very good in the ring. He's the most charismatic one in the group and I think his mannerisms really fit, he comes across as very believable.

Yeah, cuz Ezekiel Jackson and Mason Ryan definitely made it bigger than CM Punk and Daniel Bryan right? Sorry to double-post, but are you seriously arguing that Zeke and Ryan didn't get a million chances because of their bodybuilding looks? The fact that occasionally a smaller guy will succeed and a bigger one will fail doesn't mean the pattern doesn't exist. It's hardly unrealistic to think Reigns will get the push. I actually don't think Ambrose is in trouble, here, but I think Rollins is screwed because of his size. Ezekiel had a few chances, but Mason Ryan? No. Definitely not. Please tell me any noteworthy push Mason Ryan got since Nexus died almost 2 years ago.

Well, not that it explains everything but Mason Ryan requested the last half of 2012 off evidently. So, hard to push someone when they aren't there.

Well there was like a 2-3 week period where it looked like Mason Ryan would be feuding with Dolph Ziggler for the US title. But that was back when the fans were begging for Ryder so I don't think anybody would've succeeded until Ryder got a chance (this is also when John Morrison was visibly thrown off to the fans chanting for Ryder at Survivor Series)

In the past two years, he had a two-month run on RAW where it was hinted he might get a US title shot. That's about it. Hardly a major push.

I guess y'all would have a problem with the way Terry Funk and Roddy Piper would sell and make faces, too. I was never a fan of Terry Funk for the same reasons. His mannerisms were too comical and his promos were nothing special. Piper on the other hand was one of the best talkers ever. It's hard to say if Ambrose is because he's only been reciting WWE creative's crappy writing in a weird voice.

Dean Ambrose is awful and clearly not ready at this moment.
I remember watching Wrestlemania 29 in a theatre and people were laughing at him because of how over the top he was and how evident it was that he is trying too hard.
Do not get me wrong, there is potential there, but being a Joker impersonator should be left to old farts like Sting.
There is just something about his personality that is grating and the fact he can not work a match to anything above average after all these years is enough to embarrass me.

Last night at the show I was at, Ambrose had someone down (can't remember if it was Cena, Kane, or Bryan), hit the ground and did some pushups, popped up and did a weird Michael Jackson-esque dance. Totally did not fit The Shield, but it is probably the biggest thing I will remember from this house show. I have been asking myself since why he did that. Moral of the story: The guy knows how to make himself stand out.

I dunno, I really like Ambrose. He's one of my favorite guys in the current WWE roster... which, for 2013, isn't saying much. But seeing his work as Jon Moxley, even if they have to PG the crap out of him, I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to when they'll let him just go off and be himself.

I think the whole "Ambrose = Joker impersonator" thing is more the fans' perception than anything. It's a fun comparison, but I really don't think he's acting the way he does to purposefully impersonate The Joker. Also, Ambrose vs. Kane from SmackDown showed that Ambrose is great in the ring.

"Joker Impersonator" Jon Moxley is just a small part of his resume. Yeah, he plays an unhinged guy still, but I think he's evolved into something else that's more of a complete package.
For the Ambrose detractors, what would you prefer Dean Ambrose to do?
Also, that match with Kane was bad ass and I think Ambrose looked legit for getting the pin. Yeah, there were shenanigans, but a mid card guy can't generally beat Kane even with shenanigans.

Ambrose apparently doing a Joker impression is in the same boat as Fandango apparently showing serial killer tendencies... I just don't see it.
The Ambrose we've seen as part of The Shield, is just a fraction of what he can do when given the opportunity. Same with Rollins. Each guy right now is working as a portion of The Shield, when they break up and they're on their own, hopefully each guy is able to be showcased to their fullest potential.

What the hell is this "weird voice" you guys are hearing? It sounds pretty normal to me.

There were a few times where it seemed pretty clear he was at least inspired by The Joker(one against Daniel Bryan in...Dragon Gate, I think, stands out) but usually he comes off as more of an unhinged street thug. I don't know the chronology of the promos I've seen, but I get the impression that he grew into the persona over time and made it his own.
