Miz's title run was totally great until THAT Wrestlemania main event. It's been all downhill from there really. Really? I thought it became awful as soon as they put him in a feud with Jerry "Freakin" Lawler.

I thought it became awful as soon as they put him in a feud with Jerry "Freakin" Lawler. Since I've been watching WWE again in December 2009, 60+ year old serious title competitor Jerry Lawler has to be one of the low points. And in kayfabe Miz needed help from Cole to retain his title in those matches! That's so awful for everyone involved.

He is a guy that grew up as a fan as a kid and accomplished the pinnacle of his dream...His entire mtv run on the show all he did was talk about being the WWF(E) champion and he did that...He can in no way ever be called a failure...

I didn't think the idea of him feuding with Lawler was terrible, but the execution was awful. Having your new young world champion, the guy you're going to put in the main event of Wrestlemania, need the help of two guys to defeat a 60 year old man who the audience believes is retired... Is incredibly bad booking. That said, I never brought Miz as a top of the card guy. He is exactly where he needs to be, in the midcard-upper midcard area of the card.

Miz isnt that good at anything. It sounds simplistic but it's the hard truth. Whatever he does theres a dozen guys on the roster who can do that better. I guarentee his D list status as a celebrity warrented him his push. As WWE tries more and more to make themselves an entertainment company with wrestling as a small component incorporated into it they'll use any angle they can to bring themselves into the mainstream. Miz is an easily frogetable nobody from a forgetable show over a decade ago but he has that over a lot of other guys on the roster so the WWE sees value in that. And they'll keep him around for that. He was a brilliant failure as WWE champ, so we'll probably never see that again. He looks like a lesbian comic for the late 80s with a piss poor attitude and no wretling skills. He's annoying, and in more of a "I dont wanna watch this garbage" way instead of a "I hope he gets his!!!" way, and why hes a face is beyond me, Miz isn't the best, but he isn't that bad. And Miz was bullied in the locker room because of his MTV past, so it was probably more of a hindrance to him than a help. Miz only gained TWO things from being on MTV: 1. ) The reality shows gave Miz a big enough payday that he could afford to put the majority of his focus into wrestling rather than toiling at a day job. 2. ) Because he was already known for reality TV, Mike Mizanin was allowed to "Be Miz." Without the Real World Fame, he'd probably be "Herbert Fields" or some other bullshit name imposed on him by the almighty name generator. To say he has a "piss poor attitude" and no wrestling skills" is just not true. Miz isn't horrible. It's not like he's a sloppy botch machine like Sin Cara or Alex Riley (at the height of his push). Miz is perfectly passable in the ring. Even when he was really green in 2006, he wasn't completely hopeless. And Miz is a face because some people like his annoying douchebag frat boy act. Imo, Miz as a face is a big improvement over him being a heel.

The only time when I've ever really had an issue with Miz was the month or so after they broke up his team with R-Truth, when they laughably tried to pass him off as this career-killing SRS "ice man" through taking out Truth (wellness) and Morrison (leaving the company)... And some people think his character NOW is miscast.

It's hard to feel bad for the guy considering how hard the company got behind him, and yet he really didn't show any real return. He's just not a guy you can rely on the carry a show, or put on a truly strong match. He's much better off now then he ever was when they shoved the rocket up his ass in 2010, or especially when they laughably tried to make him some sort of emotionless monster.

Miz's world title run was perfectly fine, if unspectacular. And unlike certain people *cough* CM Punk *cough* he can hold his head high knowing Raw ratings didn't tank on HIS watch. All hindsight. Just because a big pile of diarrhea does well at the box office, doesn't stop it from being a big pile of diarrhea. And I wouldn't exactly say Miz was tearing up the ratings...but then again, all hindsight. I'll reflect fondly on Punk's reign for his diverse means of opponents and match quality. Certainly, I didn't enjoy his heel turn, but at least the match quality was still there. I'll reflect on Miz's reign as the worst long term WWE champion I have ever seen in my life. Besides...I don't give a f*** about the ratings anyways.

Surprised people aren't commenting on his work with Daniel Bryan, which was very good.
And I don't mean the matches.

Step 1 of his ruin was his face turn
Step 2 was the 'passing of the torch' from Ric Flair, something that was obviously so forced and something that he could never ever live up to, and they should have known better

I am no big fan of The Miz, though I appreciate that he shows me what it would've been like if Ric Flair had been great in the ring. I'm sorry, you whatnow?

I think it's a deadpan sarcasm kind of thing. I love Miz. The reason I'm not writing an essay defending him is because he doesn't warrant it at this point. He's done some really good work even recently (matches with Mysterio, with Christian, his first match with Dolph on Main Event, his Smackdown two out of three falls bout with Cesaro), but all of it seems to exist in a vacuum. I've likened it to the 'Carlito's lazy' is talking-point where he would put out an amazing match on Superstars and then sleepwalk through his appearances on RAW. Miz, since turning face, has been far from consistently entertaining despite being regularly featured. Part of it is his booking, part of it is that he's a wrestler second lately, but part of it is him just going through the motions. I think that he could shine again if given proper direction though.

Miz probably banged Maryse last night.
He doesn't care what we think.

I don't hate Miz, but I'm going to guess that ratings not tanking weren't due to him being champion. The Rock and John Cena interacting is probably why they were higher and you can't really attribute ratings solely to one person anyway.

I do know this new face stuff suuuuuucks.
Miz could be a face. Not what he's doing right now though. As is the running joke, his character is now gone that he's turned face. Most of the time he's this regular serious guy in a suit? WTF?
If there's one face that SHOULD be cracking jokes on the heels, it's the Miz.

I'll give you that. while he feels directionless right now he's still better off than when he was "Captain SRS". to be honest, you can say that of everyone who did a SRS gimmick other than Chris Jericho.
