Within three years, The Miz has gone from WWE Champ, Wrestlemania Headliner and "the future of sports entertainment" to Main Event Commentator, Curtis Axel cannon fodder and Summerslam host. Is it safe to say that the E has given up on the idea that The Miz will ever be a main eventer again? I don't particularly care either way, but it is a dramatic about-face. Is there any other superstar that has risen so high and fallen so fast?

The Miz is probably their second or third favorite guy. I think that they'll push him as a main eventer the next time they think they can get away with it. I am no big fan of The Miz, though I appreciate that he shows me what it would've been like if Ric Flair had been great in the ring, but even I'm spoiling for that big Miz/Punk feud, and I'd consider that to be a main event spot. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

He is in Jericho territory, he bounces around upper midcard occasionally getting tossed into main events. After the summer of Bryan I bet he gets another title reign, he might even be the guy to take Del Rios title

I could see him getting a run as World Heavyweight Champion if they need more faces down the line to hold that title but I don't see him ever becoming WWE Champion again.

I think the dream of him being the "#1 Company Guy" is over, but as sybaku said, he's pretty much Jericho level where he can bounce doing midcard and the occasional main event feud.
His face run has been a bust though. Time to turn him heel again.

He's basically taken over Kofi Kingston's role as being 'king of the midcard'.

He'll always be a very good PR guy, I'll give him that. He should take over from Lawler in a year or two.

I disagree with all of this. I've said it in another thread and I'll say it here: I'd say Miz, as a wrestler, is slowly but surely coming to an end.

His face run has been a bust though. Time to turn him heel again. How do you figure? MizTV gets good ratings and his crowd reactions are no worse than anybody else in the midcard. He's in the same bracket as Barrett, Swagger, Cesaro, Sin Cara, and a half dozen other guys - he's on TV but with no real purpose or direction. A heel turn isn't going to magically solve the problem.

Miz is in the same rut that Kofi was in before his injury, floating from feud to feud. Miz TV gets high ratings thanks in part because majority of the time they are directly related to whatever the main even feud is at the time.

I don't think they've so much given up on Miz or anything; if anything, I get the sense with how he tends to be kind of portrayed as something special compared to a lot of the roster just in terms of his presence and the things he does that they still fully intend to make him a top guy (as they should) but at the moment there isn't a lot of room to do so so they're just keeping him busy and trying to keep him visible in a way beyond just the usual, "Squash the Primetime Players every week."

Don't forget: His WWE Studios movie has been their best selling DVD of the year too.

There's not one remotely likeable thing about him. He fails in so many ways as a face; he's not funny like the Rock, he's not a bad ass like Austin, he's not clever like Punk, he's not a ring general like Bryan or a monster like Kane...nothing works.

Charismatic, good-looking, decent wrestler, promo skills, etc. He might not excel at anything, but he's good at a lot of stuff. And anyone who thinks Miz is the least likable babyface on the roster clearly hasn't seen of Sheamus' work.

He will fade in to commentary. He will be great at it IMO, but he will never ascend to WrestleMania main event status again. Not arguing whether thats good or bad but just how it is.

He's hosting WWE's second biggest PPV of the year. If anything, it seems like a big boost from what he's been doing for most of the year.
The only other person to host a PPV that I can think of is the Rock.

He has the natural heel look and promo skills, why they ever thought a face turn would work is beyond me. Particularly when they didn't change him much.
I mean I know Sheamus is an annoying face too but at least you can sort of tell the difference between his heel badass run and his face douche run.

He's in Jericho territory. Jericho had a awful title run and mainevented a Wrestlemania and didn't get another title opportunity in 5 years. If The Miz remains injury free through those years he will improve as a veteran and get another shot eventually.
