The bad news: Kat Dennings is back.
The awesome news: It looks a lot more action packed than the first movie.

If you like Loki, you're in luck: they're shooting new scenes featuring the God of Mischief for the Thor follow-up.

I read Thor as a kid and will most likely watch and even enjoy this film, but does anybody else find it hilarious that the subtitle to this film is "The Dark World" and the Star Trek sequel was called "Into Darkness"? Gee, do you suppose those titles could have anything to do with the popularity of "The Dark Knight"? I swear, I don't know if it's always been like that but the movie studios are so transparently trendy that it really is laughable.

Well, in this case, probably not, as the enemies are the Dark Elves and their home realm has a name in Norse that literally means 'The Dark Elf World.'

What, does Batman have a patent on the word "dark?"

Looks pretty cool! I definitely want to check this out. I've never been much of a fan of the Thor comics, but I liked the first movie. Very accessible for non-fans, and it did a good job of building the world and establishing the "Asgardians are both the old Norse gods from folklore AND an advanced extraterrestrial race at the same time" explanation for them.
Furthermore, although I liked the first movie, the best parts of it were easily the parts set in the mythological Norse settings with epic battles between mighty dieties. The part where Thor was exiled on Earth was fine, and saw good character development, but paled in comparison to the beautifully-designed sets and visuals of Asgard and Jotunheim. This movie looks like it'll focus more on these types of settings. I approve.

Bring it on! Looking forward to this one in particular because it has the potential to further the overarching plot with Thanos.

It looks like a blast. Really looking forward to it, and also anticipating what we're gonna get post credits.
Related, I didn't realize Loki had such a fangirl following till fairly recently. That sorta surprised me. Don't get me wrong, Hiddleston is AWESOME, I just never really pictured him as a huge sex symbol for the wimmenfolk.

Oh for sure, it's just the legion of screaming fangirls he seems to have cultivated that I hadn't expected.

I don't think it's a stretch at all, and I'm actually kind of shocked that nobody else sees it.

I can't speak for the new Star Trek movie, but this movie's title pretty clearly comes from its own material, not another movie's popularity.

Man, if you think the fem-pop he got at Comic Con was something: This was basically an hour-long ovary massage. (Bastard. )
