Hey, I'd be cool with them taking a random girl as well. Just not a "I wrestle good" SHIMMER girl. TNA needs someone who stands out in the Knockouts division. Most of them are pretty decent wrestlers so why not find a 10/10 model instead of someone just like the rest? |

Because a 10/10 model would need to be trained from scratch, both from an in ring and acting standpoint, something TNA aren't set up to do? Plus 10/10 model girls just want to be on TV and don't really want to take bumps, just look at the churn rate from Diva searches and Johnny Ace's underwear catalogue fixation which isn't good by any stretch of the imagination. With Shine and Shimmer girls, you know they have a passion for the business, they're trained, know how to actually work a crowd and are ready, willing and able to do what it takes in order to make money for themselves and for the company they work for, that is more important than having someone who is essentially a prop. Honestly, during the period they were pairing the former models up with wrestlers in the WWE, most of them could have gotten more over had they carried a cardboard cutout of Angelina Jolie to the ring and acted like it was a real person. I cannot fathom why anyone who likes wrestling would want an untrained girl added to the roster because she's slightly hotter than they perceive trained female wrestlers to be. It'd be like a fan of a TV comedy demanding a girl who can't act and has no sense of comic timing be cast in a recurring role on a popular show because she's hotter than Kristen Schaal. |

It's going to be ladies from OVW and random women like Candice LaRae, Marti Belle, and Veda Scott. Don't expect any international talent because TNA ain't going to fly them in or give them jobs.

Irrational SHIMMER hate aside, I wonder how similar this will be to Awesome Kong's open challenges. Could be a nice vehicle to introduce new talent at the very least.
