Mean Gene sure liked to interview the Four Horsemen didn't he? Late 96 early 97 he interviews them every week.
Nick Patrick just wearing the nWo shirt and coming out with them every week just isn't as fun as when he wasn't.

The April 14, 1997 Raw might be the most impossible thing to watch ever. Why? I thought it being both in South Africa and Muncie, IN (Ball State Cardinals represent, y0) was part of the problem. Surely that Tarver rating (1.9) had nothing to do with it. (I used to tape Raw while I took my nap before work, but WCW being in Philly the night after ECW's Barely Legal PPV had me intrigued. Raw deserved that 1.9; pure garbage.)

And that was the Raw that gave Russo more Power in WWE

Summer Rae was originally given a different name (Kylie Summers), but Dusty told her it sucked (she agreed but didn't want to cross management), and that he'd call WWE himself to go to bat for her about changing it.

Maybe I'm just to used to the current product where Smackdown is a black hole of interest, but man am I surprised at how much stuff was happening on Heat in 1999.
I was surprised to see one week that The Acolytes are feuding with Unholy Alliance, despite the fact that they were aligned with Undertaker the week before. Sure enough, I had to search for that week's Heat and it was explained.

JR mentioned Kurt Angle coming to the WWF offices in 1996.

They really dragged out introducing the fake Razor. JR said he was going to call them down to the ring "but first": 1. Randomly inserted video of Mankind and Paul Bearer in a graveyard, 2. commercial break 3. Worked shoot promo.
Speaking of that promo, was that the first time they revealed that Vince was the owner of WWF?

I think Venture had made some VERY veiled references to it on commentary before, but as far as acknowledging it in kayfabe, yeah, I think so.

1) Apparently Friday Night's Main Event was a real thing I missed in 1997. 2) Jim Ross and Sgt. Slaughter damn near broke their necks taking the Stunner.

Slamboree 94 Legends Reunion had a tone of ECW influence in it
There were ECW chants
The camera shows an ECW sign
Terry Funk wrestles Tully Blanchard in a very tame-ish hardcore match even though it wasn't suppose to be hardcore.
Also Spring Stampede right before they stripped "The Boss" of his name night stick and hand cuffs because he used them when he shouldn't have. (I assume they were being sued by WWF)

Some things become slightly weird when you're watching with the knowledge of what's to come.
The Raw before Badd Blood in '97, during the time Pillman had Marlena for a month and had a series of videos called the XXX Files, the first thing Vince said on commentary after they had shown it: "Hopefully that is the last we'll see of Brian Pillman <slight pause> 's X Files."
The Raw after Badd Blood when they did the 10 bell salute, tribute, and uncomfortable interview with his wife, was at the Kemper Arena.
