Max Von Syndow is the new Three-Eyed Raven. Fantastic news. I think the show just found the person to replace Charles Dance for the job of killing it in every scene he's in. "The power of greensight compells you!" Entertainment Weekly says he won't have a lot of screen time and is already filming, but I expect the scenes will be a real big deal with Bran.

Ian McShane has also been cast for a role in the series. His role has not been revealed yet. Nothing against Max Von Sadow, but Ian f'n McShane aka Al "**** ******" Swerengen was cast on game of thrones and it gets two posts? WTH!? Speculation I have read suggest he may Randyl Tarly. I'd be down for that. Tarly is a bit of an over bearing a$$hole and McShame plays that role quite well. His straight portrayal of the over bearing step father in Hot Rod was great. He played off the comedy extremely well. Then there is Al Swerengen. You love him but he should be hated. He is a crook, a whore master, a cheat, a treaty breaker who exploited the Souix and the miners of deadwood, mildly racist etc. but still the audience loved him. I can't wait to see him no matter who he plays...unless it's a Greyjoy, then I'm pissed. I hate the iron born. Useless as a left handed ladle

He'd make a good Randyll, but I feel like if he was Tarly, they'd just say it. His role is probably one not yet announced like how they didn't announce they were recasting the Three-Eyed Raven. They also said he won't' be in that much just like Sydow and I think the roles announced are ones with quite a bit of screen time.

Randyll Tarly wouldn't be that big of a role, would it? If they cast him, he'd just be the guy who plans whatever attack the Reach decides to carry out in response to the Faith and Cersei. Maybe he could have some kind of tense dinner scene with Sam and Gilly on their way to the Citadel but, I doubt it.

This is the TV version, he'd be in the thick of the fighting, and that is, at this point, one of the 2 biggest King's Landing stories.

Unfortunatly for most of those in the fighting, I see Cersei burning down King's Landing Aerys style in the near future.

Well the part most speculated and honestly is going to be Randyll was described as a "very good part" and "centrally involved in a protagonist storyline" so I see the actor having scenes with Sam and King's Landing, possibly involved with the politics with the Queen of Thorns and Jaime.

I think Ian McShane is in the category of actors who get sought out for roles, rather than audition. Much like how there was no notice for a new 3 eyed raven, I'm guessing that IM's role will be one that is as yet unannounced.

No no. Someone needs to go full Lanister on the Freys...all of them. Go take the twins, then hunt down and kill all of them except for Lord Walder. Then burn every single piece of paper that says that name existed at all. Raze his lands by fire and start fresh plots and give the locals shares of them under the condition they deny that house Frey every existed and that they and their descendants do they same. Utterly eliminate everything that ever was house Frey....then kill Walder

Seriously, we need some Joffrey level retribution on Frey. No matter how long they drug that out, it was not proportionate to his sins. So I'd ask for something a bit closer for Lord Walder

So umm...does this mean Bran is back for the flashbacks to be linked to books? If so, DAMN! I hate the waste of time his chapters and segments are on the show and books (to me anyway, if you like him cool). The only part of his act on the show that is worth watching now is Hodor and that joke has gotten older than the Knights King. Orsha on Theon was the last hurrah of OMG moments for me with him. I don't care about the Reeds, I don't care about Wargging, I don't care about Rikkon and three eyed crows. Great ve me Kings landing, Essos and Winterfell.
