I want to give him a high five. To the face. Really hard. Nice to know that physical violence on someone is okay as long as you dislike them. Real classy. How about we cut this all out right now.

A lot of what I was going to say has already been said (such as Boogie's suicide prevention videos being hit) but I do want to say some stuff that's bothering me about this. In the YouTube comments on all of the videos I've watched on this subject, there are countless comments with hundreds of upvotes blaming so-called 'SJW's' and 'feminists' for this policy. The reason this bothers me so much is because if the people making these comments did any research, they'd see that so-called 'SJW' YouTubers and feminist YouTubers I've seen both sides of that coin blaming the other. When it has nothing to do with either, but some people see the world through their own lens like that and assume everything relates back to it. That is what happens when people get a Us vs Then mentality

Let's leave Nicki Minaj's butt out of this. It's done nothing but bring joy and pleasure to the world. Talk about a Lesser butt, I'm sure Beyonce won't mind us talking about her

I looked for the full set of guidelines and I just gave them a read through, and on top of swearing, these are the video topics that, if uploaded, are at risk of being deemed inappropriate: . Anything that shows partial nudity, and/or has sexual humor within the video. . Anything that is excessively violent, including footage of someone suffering a serious injury, and/ or footage or discussion of violent extremism. . Any video that promotes the selling, usage, or abuse of drugs, legal or illegal. . Any video that contains imagery and/or discussion of : Past or ongoing wars, politics, natural disasters, or tragedies. Ok that last one is extreme bullshit. That one is basically saying you can't make videos on certain areas of god damn history. >_> That's one issue I knew they would ultimately go against. This is f***ed up.

I am curious how news agencies that use YouTube to host stories will work with this war thing now? I imagine Russia Today are just outright deleted.
Also, well done for removing a part of social media that got war crimes and atrocities exposed quickly to the global audience. Nice to see that possibility of saving lives go because "advertiser friendly" types may dislike it.
Google can f*** off.

Someone should create NewTube.
It'd be the same as YouTube, but like it was before Google.

It sounds like an effort to undermine "new media" groups like TYT etc...who probably depend on online ad money from their videos. It won't affect corporate media who post online videos, since they would already make money through advertising on TV.

I wonder if this is in regards to sexual content, rather than swearing, but Google's always been pretty incompetent in how it handles a lot of stuff with youtube. I looked for the full set of guidelines and I just gave them a read through, and on top of swearing, these are the video topics that, if uploaded, are at risk of being deemed inappropriate: . Anything that shows partial nudity, and/or has sexual humor within the video. . Any video that promotes the selling, usage, or abuse of drugs, legal or illegal. . Any video that contains imagery and/or discussion of : Past or ongoing wars, politics, natural disasters, or tragedies. The second and the last are going to get some YouTube channels I frequent shut down. Their sin? Posting news broadcast footage of the Kennedy Assassination (footage of a serious injury; politics; tragedy), the Challenger explosion (footage of a serious injury; tragedy) and 9/11 (virtually all of two and four). This is really getting out of hand. YouTube is basically a storage house for visual media, either for commentary, analysis or resource gathering. Trying to limit that now is not just closing the barn door after the horse is out, it basically cripples YouTube and places it on equal value footing as MySpace.

I thought about news channels too, but I think Giggle is going to look the other way any formal/tradition news source or movie studio. Maybe I need to adjust my tin foil lacefront...

If I read this right, the thing that's going to happen is that there will be no ads on "controversial" videos, and noone's getting booted unless breaking the regular guidelines, flawed as they may be?
