Each TV season gets weirder and weirder, and then you throw this kind of news at me and I'm just absolutely flabbergasted.

NOTHING about this shit product will ever change with monetary value going up like this. That is what happens when you achieve a monopoly and are integrated so deep withing culture itself.

So the punishment for making an unwatchable tv product is to be paid 3 times more for one of those shows...I just don't understand life.

Maybe Vince isn't out of touch with his product...

We would like to wish SD best in their future endeavours....on the shopping network. Coming up on Pop....yet another name change! What's SlapLow Wrestling doing in the Impact, er, SlapLow Zone?

This is good for WWE as a company but shitty for the fans. We’re still stuck with 3 hour Raws & if they’re getting 3 times the amount for this shit product then that means that they think what they’re doing now is working. It’s crazy how an at best average product which is even pushing it calling it average, is being given so much money. WWE will definitely stay with this if it’s not broke don’t fix it mentality. So here’s to literally 5 to 7 more years of Reigns as the main focus.

And here I thought nothing would top the Brooklyn Nine-Nine/Lethal Weapon/Gotham trifecta for craziest renewal news this year.

So the punishment for making an unwatchable tv product is to be paid 3 times more for one of those shows...I just don't understand life. It’s fascinating to observe. Think of all the stuff that’s happened since the last TV deal was signed, which I think was in 2014. That covers pretty much the entire Roman Reigns main event push and all the back-and-forth that has entailed. It’s covered two separate world title reigns where the champion barely appears on the show, and has not even wrestled a match on the show the network is paying for during that entire time. All those angles and feuds that have been maligned the way they have... And it’s led to an alleged TV deal that could be anywhere between 300 to 500 million dollars just for ONE show alone, let alone a possible fair chunk of change for the other one. Clearly the TV network doesn’t mind about the slow ratings decline judging by the supposed increase in TV rights fees, so all that’s left are live crowd numbers, which seem to be... largely steady year-over-year, I think? What motivation is there for them to change direction? They’ve just had their entire business model validated.

Vince, stop being so incredibly damn good at business so that your artistic efforts are forced to improve dammit.

if SmackDown ended up on CBS, would they have to re-form the Shield as a NCIS type group?

Where would Smackdown go if not USA/NBC? I'd think Fox Sports would still be in the running. Maybe ESPN. I wouldn't count out Paramount Network since the rebrand either. So, will this mean Taped SDs again? Possibly? I'd think it would depend on what the new home is willing to pay since it costs more to go live.

This news came out of left field, right? Because from reading the tea leaves from insiders in both the wrestling and television industry, it felt as though it was a fait accompli that WWE was going to partner with the FOX networks to broadcast Raw and SmackDown.

But as you say it's frustrating for the fans who want to be excited about Monday nights again because it's clear that nothing is going to change thanks to deals like this. And who can blame them? I know if I suddenly got paid triple the money for half-arsing my work I certainly wouldn't start using my whole arse!

America is an amazing country and I don’t mean that sarcastically. If you are good at what you do and are willing to work hard at it, then you can achieve anything.. Vince is obviously good with business, enough to compensate for a shitty product. Good for him (sucks for the fans though).

I wonder how this split might affect the product. Will Smackdown get more focus? Less? Was just wondering that as well. The brand split may become much tighter to help with that. They could easily keep RAW stuff for USA and SDL for their new home, only crossing around the big 5 shows. I cannot see either channel being fine with them giving the other a payoff for a story started on their show. The talent split would be the interesting thing. Its been said that NBCU wants the McMahons on TV and that is why they are here but what about the new channel? Could they demand Cena or Roman on their show? How does WWE actually divide the talent in that regard?
