WWE must really expect a lot of money if SmackDown ends up on internet services like Amazon or Facebook. I'd hold out for FOX, even if it means putting SD on FS1.

Wow, paying fans are going to stop mattering at all if this keeps up.

Wow, paying fans are going to stop mattering at all if this keeps up. Honestly, considering where money was during the last deal, fans didn’t matter that much since they seemed to always be making something even if it was a minimal profit. Saudi Arabia alone kind of makes things more about external organisations than anything to do with the wrestling product.

And the amazing thing is that when you see like, Road Dogg bragging on twitter about record revenues, you realize the company is super f***ing complacent about it, too. Like, they believe that all this stuff is really on their product being great. Like, ratings are sliding down, but somehow if they make more money on fewer ratings that means they're doing a good job, when they could be making even more if their ratings were climbing instead of bleeding. They've insulated themselves in against criticism or even just the will of their audience. Nothing about the product in any way has a chance of changing until Triple H and Stephanie take over, and I don't even mean that in some "please save us Triple H you're the best" way, I mean that Vince isn't going to do anything to make the product any different from this flaming car wreck he's so happy with, because broadcast corporations and Middle Eastern royalty have given him all the financial validation he needs to just piss on the camera every week without repercussion.

Keep in mind Meltzer has been quoting completely inaccurate figures for their current TV deal, meaning that he's been completely off-base regarding his speculation over the new rights deal.

If that's true, then again I have to wonder what SmackDown's value on the open market is, especially now they've gone back to a hard brand split and RAW and SmackDown are... well, I wouldn't say 100% equal, but it's a MUCH closer gap in 2018 than it was in 2014. Over/under... $150 million? Depends, FOX are really interested apparently. There's a reason why Fox execs were only at SmackDown a few months ago and not RAW. Having lost UFC they need more content, and the upcoming buyout will mean they have more cash to throw around. I wouldn't be surprised if WWE are asking for at least 200m for SmackDown. There's also the potential of putting it on FOX rather than FS1 or FS2. I'm not saying I told you so... but I told you so.

Has there been any thing on how long the deal for Raw is? I'd guess 5 years since they seem to want ask their deals up at one time but with the growth in rights fees, I wonder if NBCU went shorter or if WWE went longer.
