If the sums are right, they go from $160 million for RAW and SmackDown together to $480 million for RAW alone, with (probably) more money after that for SmackDown alone or as part of a revised deal with RAW again.

The only question, and I could be thinking about this wrong, is that does that nessesarily mean that WWE would agree to those terms? Because if a bid is thrown down by FOX for both for the same as USA seems to want to pay for Raw, would WWE refuse that for the devil they know?

"Congratulations to Brock Lesnar for being resigned to the WWE for $300 Million/year. Also, Smackdown is canceled due to lack of interest.

It depends on if WWE has already agreed to that triple money or not. If they have already put into writing their commitment to that money, which I feel like it might be, given that it's said NBC is keeping Raw and Smackdown is the one open for bidding, like before the exclusivity period on renegotiation started, they already signed over Raw. Interesting to see where this then leaves Smackdown and what WWE thinks they could get for it, and I guess how much money NBC offered for it.

Yeah, considering the way the tweet was written, it was probably sealed if not at least put in a written agreement. It was more a curious question than anything. There’s a small part of me that wonders what a WWE would look like without Smackdown. Like, I’m not even calling for a culling of resources and talent or anything, it just feels like the entire system WWE has right now is set up for two shows it can spread people across.

From here, I’d have to wonder what SmackDown’s value on the open market is. As much as we go on and on about “LOL IT’S A B-SHOW, NOBODY CARES”, it’s still live TV that gets (on average) 75%-80% of the audience RAW does.

On the flip side, the highest ratings it’s ever gotten since moving from UPN has been on USA from what I’ve remembered. Not sure about CW but that didn’t help, MyNetworkTV almost lead to the end of SD at times and their time on SyFy didn’t light the network on fire at all. I mean, this could be wrong since it is live now but it’d be like having a tiny slice of the cake whilst USA has the rest of it and won’t share (because, really, they didn’t promote Smackdown when it moved networks outside of SyFy, that’s not going to change).

I wonder how this split might affect the product.
Will Smackdown get more focus? Less?

I wonder what will happen if SD lands on a network with another wrestling show or if WWE can vetoe that from happening.
SD used as the lead in to TNA would be pretty damn funny.

That number simply cannot be real.
That would be around $9 million an episode.
What they PROBABLY mean is $240 million, which would be three times Raw’s Rate once you take away Smackdown’s half.
