This sucks; goodbye to one of New Jersey's own, and another big man legend who hasn't gotten the deserved Hall of Fame treatment from WWE (Bam Bam, Vader, Bundy, Earthquake). Just consider that Bundy got to main event Wrestlemania against Hogan in his prime, all when he was just 28 years old or so, that's crazy to think, and it makes his passing now feel all too early.
Ugh, I was actually getting kind of sad before just sitting there and thinking about how much of the Heenan Family is gone.

Bundy is also, and I bring this up a lot, annoyingly one of the two men from the first ten Wrestlemanias to main event and not be in the HoF, the other being Sid.

That's so weird, I couldn't sleep last night for anything, so I turned on the network and just randomly decided to watch Survivor Series 87, which I probably haven't watched in years. I was thinking to myself while watching it how young Bundy, Bigelow, etc. were then and working on top. Then I started wondering what kind of health Bundy and Gang were in since Bigelow has been gone for 10+ years now.
RIP big man.....FIVE!!!!

Ffs, why can't they induct people before they die? Savage, Vader and now this. It's so frustrating and so sad.
Paul Orndorf is now the only surviving opponent of Hogan's first 6 Wrestlemanias.

I doubt Bundy lost any sleep over not being in WWE's sham of a HoF. Unfortunately, we'll miss out on hearing his speech, which would have no doubt been amazing.

Yeah as I said, Bundy based on his comments didn't necessarily want in anyway. He was also very opinionated about WWE and people there. Also, I was listening to our local radio and there was a tribute, but most of it had to do with his comedy and appearing on someone's program in recent years. So besides conventions, I'm guessing he was taking the focus from wrestling anyway and putting it on his new careers.
Plus he was on the CTE lawsuit...and if the wrestlers there didn't know about that (as I am starting to suspect many of them did), then the ambulance chaser who did this for attention and money should be ashamed of himself for helping burn bridges and more often than not keeping the wrestlers from getting their recognition. I don't doubt at least some of the names on the list knew what they were doing, though, and many of them had heat with WWE and vice versa anyway. But that's another story for another day.
But yeah, there needs to be changes with how the HOF is conducted, beyond "who's available and who hasn't burnt bridges? Or what's relevant now...see Ivory going in when Netflix GLOW was hot?" We want Hunter to make changes, well here is an unsung area for that! So we don't have laughingstocks like some midcard diva/star in Russo's WCW which is just as bad. I understand they are trying to have wings for pre-expansion stars, Expansion & National/Worldwide Era, Attitude Era, even Ruthless Aggression era and Celebrities. Some entries make more sense if you look at it that way. And I get that there's people who'll never get along with WWE and won't want in. Triple H does have a powerful Magic Wand of Apology and Forgiveness, but I do know there's some who can't ever be reached. I'm sure in many instances that's a shame too.
I mean, death is unpredictable and all, but yeah. See how guys are doing....but as I alluded to in the WWECW thread, think they let too many guys go under their radar and they lose track. I heard Bam Bam was being considered this year, for the poster who commented above.
Now going back to the radio tribute, does anyone listen to New Jersey 101.5 and did they hear their tribute last night in the 10 pm hour? Host's name is Steve Trevalise if you want to look it up.

More sobering stats:
Mania 7 is the earliest one with all the main eventers who are still alive.
Bill Eadie = only survivor of the Heenan Family vs. Machines angle
Hillbilly Jim = only survivor of the Mania 3 mixed match, no?

I thought Haiti died.
Here's some trivia I learned from the NJ101.5 show....Bundy owned LOTS of cats. There's a kind of in-joke in one of the old WWF books as such, as they listed Sylvester from Looney Tunes as his favorite actor.

There's a kind of in-joke in one of the old WWF books as such, as they listed Sylvester from Looney Tunes as his favorite actor. I checked wikipedia, where he isn't listed as having died. I do see some unsourced (and not really credible) claims that he died in 2001 or 2002. I'm trying to find actual reporting and newsletter archives to see if I can find credible reporting on it. Edit: He most certainly did not pass away in 2001 or 2002. I found a picture of him at a wrestling convention from 2009.

I still also wonder about the report discussed here about him no showing a convention. Did he do so out of health issues that I fear may come up in the next few days?

I saw a lot of posts about Bundy yesterday and thought "Good it's about time that he got a place in the Hall of Fame". Unfortunately I later realised that was not why he was getting mentioned.

He seemed like someone with zero ego. Dunno why I got that vibe but I did. R.I.P big man.
And yeah, how is he not in the Hall?

I was, and still am(?), of the impression for a long time that KKB did not want to be inducted into the HOF. I thought I'd heard that years back; circa 2006, when the HOF really became a regular thing and they'd quickly gotten past a bunch of the long standing "well duh, of course they go in" inductions...

As I said before, it seemed to me he was getting away from wrestling, to a degree. Was more focused on comedy and being a radio personality.

I was surprised to realize that he really didn't wrestle much at all between his 2 WWF runs. I thought for sure he went someplace else and had a run of some sort; but rather, he was semi-retired for much of his 30s.
