www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/03/sega_mega_drive_mini_launches_worldwide_this_septemberHopefully this one goes better than Sega's past classic consoles and Sony's phoned-in attempt. And the shaky emulation in the Genesis Classics collection. Price is $70 for one controller or $90 for two. Will have 40 games, currently announced are - NA / PAL:Altered Beast Castlevania: Bloodlines Comix Zone Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine Ecco the Dolphin Gunstar Heroes Sonic the Hedgehog Shining Force Space Harrier 2 ToeJam & Earl Japan:Comix Zone Gunstar Heroes Madou Monogatari I Puyo Puyo Tsu Rent A Hero Shining Force Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Space Harrier II Vampire Killer Wrestleball Whether or not I get this will probably depend a lot on 1), overall emulation quality, and 2), whether or not it has Bio-Hazard Battle.

Hopefully better emulation than the Genesis collection on Switch. Holy god that Sonic 2 port is rough

When I saw Puyo Puyo Tsu for the Japanese version, I knew "Yup, Mean Bean Machine again."
Can Sega just go and deconfirm Sonic 3 and Knuckles already? I don't want to be disappointed once more due to the music licensing.

Castlevania isn't the first game that comes to mind when someone mentions Sega.
I imagine the final product will include some of the following: Phantasy Star 2/3/4, Stryder, Streets of Rage, Kid Chameleon, Outrun, Shinobi, Golden Ax, Vectorman and maybe even Alex Kidd and Eternal Champions. I would even love to see classic games like Ghostbusters, Castle of Illusion, Tommy Lasorda Baseball and boxing (can't remember if it was Holyfield or Douglas that came first), but I imagine licensing may be an issue for all of those.
And if this was a year ago, Moonwalker would also be a possibility.

It was confirmed a while ago that this machine was NOT being made by AtGames(the maker of the previous classic consoles). So I'm kinda optimistic about this. Though I wonder why they chose the 3 button controller for the US release.

If they wanted to sneak the Douglas Boxing game there, just release it with its original arcade title...Final Blow was it?

I don't want to be disappointed once more due to the music licensing. I hate to say it, but just change the music then! Look at what they've done release after release of Revenge of Shinobi.

Already got one of the portable Genesis that runs roms off a SD card. Sure the sound isn't right, but I rarely play it with the sound on.

However, there is one notable downside The NTSC versions will come with 3-button controllers only.

Contra Hard Corps is not false advertising, they mean it. It’s an insanely difficult run ‘n gun. Gunstar Heroes can be overwhelming depending on your difficulty level and your timing, but Hard Corps has a giant robot with sledgehammer arms chasing you down and you’ve gotta shoot from behind. Fun, but prepare to die a lot.

I'll probably get this for the hell of it. But I wouldn't mind if they added some earlier games like Golden Axe and even Alex Kidd.

Already a far more impressive lineup than the PS Classic did, and a better representation of true Sega classics to say the least. Combine that with the most likely added titles coming down the pipeline (and the inevitable modding community), I'm very much looking forward to adding it to my NES and SNES Classics.

This is shaping up to be a pretty damn solid purchase provided the emulation quality is on point. Very good lineup thus far.

I love that they're going with more 3rd party titles. We've had the 1st party stuff released so many times. Not that they're bad games, but this is just a refreshing change and put this from "passing interest" to "I might just buy this".

I just realized the unit has a T rating and two Mickey Mouse games are part of the lineup
Does this make this the first time we got a Mickey Mouse game with a T rating?
