It was posted right after my post. Kinda seemed pointed. And since my post would seemingly fall into your criteria, it WAS pointed at me. Hence, rebuttal. Jed Shaffer ~Odds are, he hasn't even heard of Peeping Tom. Most people haven't. Sure haven't. I could check 'em out though. I'm always open to new stuff. You like Faith No More? It's from the lead singer. Think Faith No More goes trip-hop. Whatever your #1 is, it will replace it. It's seriously that damn good. Might be a little hard to find, though. VERY small label. But by God, the coolest packaging you'll ever see. Jed Shaffer ~Nothing personal on the list. Just different tastes.

I don't expect everyone, or even anyone to . I just got bored and decided to make one. But yeah, Mike Patton is an alright guy. Some of his stuff I like, some of it I don't. VERY hit or miss for me.

Plus, it has Norah Jones saying "keep it in your pants" and "motherf**ker" on it. That wins by default. Jed Shaffer ~She's a slut on the song. I mean ... really ... HOW COOL IS THAT?!?

Last year was all about Ghostfaces 'Fishscale', this year all i give a crap about is the MF Doom/Ghostface LP. I don't mean to hijack this thread, but MF Doom and Ghostface are doing a CD together?! "The Mask" is my favorite track off of Danger Doom's "The Mouse And The Mask", and lord knows I've been listening for Wu-Tang off and on for years now... Any word on a date? Is Danger Mouse gonna be back for a few songs? Any leaks? ANYTHING?! EDIT: CLICK HERE to listen to "Angeles"... A song that's, oddly enough, about Charlie's Angels... They actually use the Charlie's Angels theme song as the beat... Ghostface's flow is a thing of beauty... MF Doom/Ghostface LP is out in June as far as i know, it's been delayed a couple of times but that just makes me want it even more, there's no way it wont be incredible.

Indeed...you wouldn't figure I'd like that song AT ALL considering what it's talking about And those songs are all okay, just not real frequent listens or anything.

I suppose it is time for number 6! I Am Ghost - Lover's Requiem One of the best post-hardcore releases of last year. As I've said a million times before, I have a thing for post-hardcore...especially that with a darker image to it, and this definitely fit the bill, but wasn't generic in the slightest. It had a lot of interesting elements to it, musically, lyrically...everything about it just reeked of awesomeness. If this sort of music is your thing, I cannot recommend it enough. I'll hopefully be seeing them at the Warped Tour this year, so that will definitely be great stuff. But yeah, this album was absolutely spectacular, and one of my most listened last year. Even this year.

Jed Shaffer ~Not "A Small Victory"? "Evidence"? "Last Cup Of Sorrow"? Don't get me wrong, I liked the Peeping Tom album. It's kinda fun hearing Patton parodying pop music as he's such an outspoken critic about it. I kept getting this, "If pop music sounded like this, I wouldn't be so annoyed by it" vibe from the whole album. And Norah Jones dropping the F-bomb... it's just a thing of beauty.

Number 5! Angels and Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper This album is simply gorgeous. It's one I put in when I feel like relaxing...the songs, I dunno, they make me feel like I'm flying, and they're intense, but simultaneously soothing...and just, all in all, it's a very very beautiful album. There's apparently been quite a lot of backlash against this CD for whatever reason...I guess because it's not Blink, but I'm not sure who expected it to be. I personally much prefer AVA over (+44)...the music is a whole lot more interesting, plus I like Tom's voice better. I just think Tom is all in all far more creative. There is one song on this CD that I don't like so much...and that's "Good Day"...it has a wonderful sound, but the lyrics are pretty thoughtless. But the CD as a whole is so amazing I'm more than willing to forgive it. But yeah...if you haven't heard this CD, you should check it out. Beautiful, beautiful stuff.

I guess I will bump this up for Dude There's two 2006 albums in particular that I really enjoyed, (which is not saying much as I don't have many from 06) I know one of them for sure will make it, not too sure about the other though Oh and I got them both this year too

Basically last year all I needed was "En Bocca Al Lupo" from Murder by Death. Such an incredible album. Invoking Johnny Cash a few times, and some just awesomely haunting music.

I dug Mastodon's "Blood Mountain" but Norma Jean's "Redeemer" was a far superior album, in my opinion.

Guttermouth had a new cd last year I think. Did Melvins/Jello Biafra #2 come out last year as well?

Alright! I'm awake! And stuff! TIME FO' NUMBA 4!!! The Prize Fighter Inferno - My Brother's Blood Machine This is one I'm not expecting many people 'round these parts to have even heard of. It's a side project of Claudio from Coheed & Cambria...and it's definitely amazing. It's another concept album, though I don't have enough of a grasp on the story to go into detail about it here. The songs, though, are absolutely brilliant...basically, about half the CD is acoustic stuff, and half of it is electronic stuff...almost like...industrial pop, sometimes. Think The Postal Service, but darker. In any case, Claudio's vocals are dead-on as usual, his lyrics are amazing, and the lyrics come on TAROT CARDS. How f***ing cool is that? Extremely, that's how. In any case, I highly recommend you check this one out.

Well, #4 was totally no-sold...perhaps 3 won't be.. The Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia... Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Seriously. Brilliant. Amanda Palmer is one of the best lyricists I have ever laid witness to. They're so bitingly honest, beautifully written, touching, and just...absolutely amazing. She's a wonderful songwriter...a genius on the piano, and can make even simple tunes sound spetacularly complicated. Brian Viglione is AMAZING on the drums, and the guitar, and anything else he happens to play, and he also happens to be hot. Hell, they're both really hot. But that's inconsequential. In any case, there's not a single track on this CD that's unmemorable. They range from insanely catchy to wonderfully touching and just...beautiful, every single song. Subject matter touched upon is generally stuff most musicians won't hit with a 10 foot pole...and Amanda does it exsquisitely. I can't sing the praises of the Dolls enough. They're SUCH an original band, and one that has made it fairly big...which original bands don't usually get these days. Go listen to this CD. Now. Seriously...amazing stuff.
