Time for the 7! Mastodon - Blood Mountain en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Mountain_%28album%29Yeah, this album is intense. Seriously. The concept surrounding it is really cool...going through different stages of psychosis while climbing a mountain to the peak...it's just all very awesome. And the music itself is just SO amazing. I can't believe these guys aren't bigger than they are. If more attention is paid to them, they're destined to become legends. That's how amazing these guys are. Easily the best metal album of last year. Go listen now. What are you talking about? They garner heaps of attention... too much if you ask me. BM was okay for what it was, but for a metal album it's quite boring. At heart it's more of a hard rock/metalcore album. By the way... Hello Mastodon, where are the riffs which make me want to bang my head as if up from the dead? And drummer: stop doing fills every five seconds. But I totally get that people like it, and I respect your opinion, yadda yadda yadda.

I don't hear the hardcore influence like...at all. It's a progressive metal album, if anything. Not in the vein of Dream Theater or Symphony X, but y'know, it doesn't all have to be like that. In any case, I thought it was the best metal release of last year.

I do admit, I pop in the album every once in a while.
Oh, and they're good live, too. I mean, it's not my kind of thing, but they were fun to watch. Seeing them deliver the vocals is actually pretty damned funny.

Well, time for number 2! The Killers - Sam's Town I'm not even sure what it is about this album that struck me as so absolutely amazing...but it is. It puts me in an incredibly good mood. It's so uplifting...and just...I dunno. It's a very, very powerful album. I think they grew up a lot from Hot Fuss. I mean, Hot Fuss was absolutely amazing too...one of my favourites...but even so, Sam's Town is that much better. Brandon's lyrical style is something incredible to behold...his voice is heartfelt and beautiful...the music is just awesome, I love the synths...I love...I dunno. Everything about this album. And when I heard they were working on one, I was just expecting another Hot Fuss, and expecting to be disappointed. But wow. This album is just...wonderful.

Okay, time for the number ones! Yeah, number ones. Two albums hit me more than any other last year...and as hard as I tried, I couldn't really pick out one that was better. So here we go, with my two absolute favourites of last year! My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade Yeah...so I've listened to this album more than 100 times easily, and I still have yet to find a single flaw in it. Really. This album is pretty much perfect in my eyes. I get chills from every single song...they all touch me...brilliant concept...Gerard's masterful with lyrics...the music is all crafted extremely well, and it's so much different from anything MCR did in the past. This is easily my favourite album by them...and it is pretty much one of the defining albums of my life. It just hit me in ways I never thought an album could. Not to mention, seeing the entire album performed live was the best show I've seen in my entire life. I mean...that show was just...so absolutely incredible in every way. Seriously. But indeed...this album truly blew me away, and I have yet to tire of it, and I've listened to it more times than I can even count. A classic. At least for me.

ha ha ha oh man where is my eyeliner? LAME Honestly dude, you shouldn't judge the band specifially on their looks. They are better then most people tend to think, but paradoxically, overrated by more of the people. I don't mind them, I like quite a few of their songs, and they sure as HELL better then waxing Fall Out Boy at least. How shallow by you.

I'm not crazy about MCR but they are much better then Fall Out Boy. These choices aren't much of my tastes (except Mastodon, awesome...) but I've heard of most of them and see why they got picked. I'm more of a Metal person myself. My favorite band ever is System of a Down, followed closely by Slipknot and Disturbed. But I found I really like Panic! At the Disco, a couple MCR songs and a very occasional FOB song(depends on my mood...)
