Why? 'cause I was bored and I've been wanting to do this for awhile now. Here we go with number 10! Thursday - A City by the Light Divided en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_City_By_The_Light_DividedGreat, great CD. Thursday have truly grown into something amazing with this one. War All the Time I think was a wonderful turning point for them, even though most disagree with me. But yeah...this album just...it has this very bleak, urgent, desperate sound to it, and it's got beautifully written lyrics. Just...all in all, it's definitely one of the best of 2006. At least in my view.

Man, I know I'm going to disagree with almost everything you say (Considering there were no Coheed & Cambria releases this year, and that seems to be the only band we can agree on)... I can only hope Amputechture makes the list, then I can come here and shower you with praise (It's not like you don't get enough from almost everybody here anyways)...

Amazing album. And at least Coheed has a release this year And inevitably it'll be my number one.

As does The Fall of Troy, and Protest the Hero, and Metallica, and HORSE the Band. So as far as music goes, the rest of 2007 is looking pretty damn amazing.

And Avenged Sevenfold, and Panic! at the Disco, and The Used, and some others I'm probably forgetting right now. Not to mention NIN's new CD came out this year...and christ, it's so good.

The Ghostship Demos are so absolutely amazing I can't believe it. I NEED a full Ghostship album like I need oxygen. Possibly more.

I hope Art Brut makes the cut. It's not quite your kind of music I don't think, but I could be mistaken. In any case, it was probably my favorite new release in '06.

That's cool. They sorta remind me of angrier stuff by the Smiths, like where Morrissey wanted to "hang the DJ" but they're a little more raw and punk sounding than the Smiths, and the singer almost kinda talks/raps in a thick British accent. It's a lot better than I just made it sound though. Sometimes I suck at descriptions.

Did anything I give a crap about come out last year? When did late Registration come out? That shit was the bomb.

Time fo' number 9! Tool - 10,000 Days en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10%2C000_DaysThis album pretty much completely lived up to my expectations. A gorgeous, heavy, progressive rock album that is heavy on the percussion and odd time signatures and...well just general amazing composition and musicianship. Not to mention wonderful lyrics and vocals and just...Tool is amazing. We'll just put it that way. I can't get enough of them. I need to listen to this album again soon anyway.

Every Time I Die is scheduled to release an album later this year. That's gonna kick ass!
Also, The Dear Hunter's "Act I" better be on this list. For me, it's tied for first with Scarlet's "This Was Always Meant to Fall Apart."
