Going through a Community rewatch, it reminded me of something.
Anyone remember The Cape?

Everyone remembers the Wayans Brothers, Sister Sister, and maybe even the Parent Hood. But who remembers Muscle?

Who remembers The Army Show? Or Simon? Or Life with Roger? They just green-lighted anything back then, didn't they?

I seem to recall it being heavily promoted but I don't think anyone's talked about The 4400 in years.

Oh, here's one that was promoted during Smackdown a lot, and I even think they cut Smackdown short one week for the debut of it: The Mullets.

Sabrina Secrets of a Teenage Witch received quite a bit of promotion, but it was cancelled after only one season and I think it was one of the shows dropped when The Hub became Discovery Family.

Oh, I can't believe we forgot to mention him. Maybe you all tried to purge him from your memory, but it counts. The Fox bigwigs hyped the hell out of Allen Gregory. Like, it was advertised during baseball games. They expected this to be the new King of the Hill. And holy *shit* it was bad. I don't know if there was a single likable character, art looked like trash. I don't mind Jonah Hill, but dude, the hell were you thinking with that? I think they saw how popular Stewie was and thought they could base an entire show around a character like that. I still can't wrap my head around thinking a show where a man blackmails another man into being his unwilling lover would fly in this day and age.

I remember it. I also remember it being brought up around the same time as part of "the curse of Summer Glau," because the ratings were so bad that NBC unceremoniously posted the final episode to their website and never bothered to actually air it.

They stole his look and French Stewart was doing the best impersonation he could.

According to wiki, he was a psychologist! All I remember as a pre-teen at the time were lots of muscled, scantily clad people. As a fan of wrestling, you can see how that appeals to me.

It generated a lot of talk in its first season, but Revenge seems to have left no cultural footprint whatsoever.

Okay, with someone mentioning The WB's lineup, I got to mention UPN's original lineup. Star Trek: Voyager had a very good run, but it was the only show of UPN's original lineup to be a success. Meanwhile, UPN had some sitcoms like Platypus Man and Pig Sty. I mostly remember watching Platypus Man, and felt it was very underrated (RIP Richard Jeni). Then there were dramas like Marker and The Watcher. I mostly remember watching episodes of Marker, which was also very underrated. I don't really remember too much of The Watcher, except that it had Sir Mix-a-Lot as the main character/narrator who watches all of the weird stuff unravel at a Las Vegas hotel. The only thing I remember is a promo for an episode involving a vampire.
Now that I think about it, there were other shows on UPN that failed, like Legend (with Richard Dean Anderson), Nowhere Man, and Deadly Games (I found that it's on DVD; maybe I might get it to check it out).

Legitimately one of the worst shows I’ve ever watched, it was so, so bad. And not fun bad, complete slog bad.
