Stephen King's Under the Dome tv series on CBS...It deviated heavily from the book (like most King adaptations unfortunately do) and found itself with no direction or idea where to go. The Simpson's movie having a similar theme to the book didn't help the situation at all either. The book was gruesome and showed true human evils...the show not so much

Flashforward, Heroes, etc. were all these series that were hyped up to Hell as these high-profile "event" serial dramas meant to fill the void of Lost. And I think most of them failed miserably.
Granted, Heroes was real popular for a couple of seasons. And then it got hit hard by the WGA strike and it never quite recaptured what made it so popular in the first place. And after a solid first season, Jeph Loeb also did what he is wont to do and helped ruin it.

Spin City, 3rd rock from the sun and Becker - conspicuously absent on a streaming platform/television shows (Ireland/UK based - so it might be different state side) - they show everybody loves raymond/king of queens/cheers/fraiser all the time, but those comedies were popular as them 3rd Rock is on the US version of Peacock.

It’s all over the place here in Canada streaming.

The Cosby Show.
Or for a more serious answer, IIRC the reboot of V was promoted well but no one remembers it.

Man I miss Lexx. Odd as hell but fun show. Feels like Heroes went from being a huge deal during it's first season,to being forgotten. Same. I remember I only started watching it because I came across it on TV during one of its ‘racier’ moments and being young and stupid I thought it was a naughty TV show and within 10 minutes I realised it was just a Sci-Fi show albeit with a saucy side to it and ended up watching it for years afterwards I’ve got the DVD box set now ha. I plan on rewatching it soon ......Even season 4 ugh

Earth 2 ..
That was a science fiction show from the 90s, with explorers look for a new home planet and get stranded on possibility. Among the cast was Clancy Brown and Rebecca Gayheart .. according to IMDb Terry O’Quinn and Tim Curry appeared in a few episodes. It only had one season of 21 episodes.
Also there was Terra Nova .. something more recent, but that was typed to hell.. had a combination of space colonists and dinosaurs. Had 13 episodes and it was gone. Didn’t the pilot get a cinematic release too?

Considering that "It Got Worse" would be a completely accurate alternate title for that book, a straight adaptation would likely be very tricky if not impossible to make.

Mad TV went from being huge in the 90s/early 2000s, to being "that show's still around" by it's final season. I liked it but it seems now that's it's main legacy was introducing the world to Phil LaMarr, Artie Lange, and Nicole Sullivan. I don't have any if these services so don't know if up to date but a quick Google search says you can watch a few individual episodes on Amazon Prime, Google Play, iTunes. But also says it's currently being streamed on HBO Max and CW Seed...which I did not know was a thing EDIT: I just checked 'CW Seed' and don't see it there so idk

I remember John Doe adverts all over internet explorer back in the day, especially IMDb. Never actually saw it or heard it mentioned irl.
Looking but up Dominic Purcell was the lead so that's cool as I know him in later shows.

Awhile back I marathoned all five seasons of Sliders from Netflix and was shocked when one of the discs had an episode of Earth 2 on it as a bonus (as well as an episode of Cleopatra 2525). I tried watching the episode but it was soooo boring I had to tap out midway through.

Invasion was a heavily hyped part of ABC's schedule, after Lost was a hit. By winter, the show was basically forgotten. I own the only season on DVD but I'm not sure I ever watched it.

The Drew Carey Show was a pretty big hit when it aired. It's seemingly gone from the face of the Earth. I don't think any place airs reruns. Though a buddy of mine says he watched the show recently and it hasn't aged well, so...*shrug* Home Improvement. Was a massive hit, it would beat Seinfeld in head to head ratings, JTT was a teen idol for a moment....and the show is just gone. A friend i know worked for a local TV station that buys syndicated TV shows. The switch to HD + the rapid rate of tech kinda made those shows obsolete. NBC used different higher quality cameras that were able to make shows like Friends and Seinfeld look like they were filmed in HD and in widescreen. I take it shows like Home Improvement and Drew Carey had much smaller production budgets. They also just seem more dated.

It also really didn't help that some of the cast either had film commitments (Quinto with Star Trek) or other shows they were doing (I think Hayden Panetierre was starting on Nashville at around the 3rd season, hence the "She's dead now" fourth season).
