Get told you're losing the title before you even win it, reason how you should be a babyface afterwards, then after the rematches go into seclusion for 2 years messed up on pills.

Cowardly running away from your tag partner, breaking through a window no less, and embarking on a singles career that goes nowhere.

I can't even call it stupid, just Ole being Ole but...
After Vince bought out Georgia from the Briscos (squeezing out Ole, as only a 2/3 majority was needed) Vince spoke to Ole.
"It's just business. I'd like you to come work for me."
"f*** you."
Some time later, Vince approached him again.
"Ole, it's just business. You have a lot to offer, I'd love for you to join us."
"f*** you."
Some time later:
"Ole, I'd like you to meet my wife, Linda."
"f*** you and f*** her too."
Apparently, Vince told Ole "You will never work for me," which ended up being true. He worked for WCW in various roles into the '90s but never the WWF.
He did kind of get the last word, as he was contacted about taking part in the 4 Horsemen DVD. The story goes that he asked if Vince McMahon would be paying him, and when told yes, he turned them down.
His reason? "A long time ago, Vince McMahon told me that I would never work for him. I can't make a liar out of him, I have to protect his integrity."

I believe it’s Superstar Billy Graham It does sound like Billy but I think it was after he won the belt that he was informed they were taking it off him. I think he had been informed before winning he would have bolted then and there.

The story out there that I've heard from Meltzer was that he was told the exact date for when he would drop the belt to Backlund before he won it which ended up happening.

Vince Sr was known for planning things that far in advance. Plus the WWWF never had a long term heel champ. The past ones were all weeks at most. Graham never had any reason to expect his reign to be as long as it was.

It should be noted that Graham did many, many interviews both with the mainstream media and with wrestling journalists specifically and never, ever, once mentioned the possibility of being a babyface champ until the rise of Steve Austin in 1998. Not in his 1992 Torch Talk, not in his myriad public appearances during the steroid/sex scandals, nothing.

Back in 1991, Bill Watts did an interview with PW Torch and made these comments: - “If you want a business and you put money in, why shouldn’t you be able to discriminate? It’s your business,”
- “That’s why I went into business, so that I could discriminate.”
- “I can’t tell a fag to get the f*** out. I should have the right to not associate with a fag if I don’t want to. I mean, why should I have to hire a f***in’ fag, if I don’t like fags? Fags discriminate against us, don’t they? Sure they do.”
- “Who’s killed more blacks than anyone? The f***in’ blacks. But they want to blame that bullshit Roots that came on the air. That Roots was so bullshit. All you have to do if you want slaves is to hand beads to the chiefs and they gave you slaves. What is the best thing that has ever happened to the black race? That they were brought to this country. No matter how they got here. You know why? Because they intermarried and got educated. They’re the ones running the black race.”
- “Lester Maddox was right. If I don’t want to sell fried chicken to blacks I shouldn’t have to. It’s my restaurant. Hell, at least I respect him for his stand.”
Maddox catapulted to infamy in 1964 while operating a chicken and burger restaurant in Atlanta at which he refused to serve blacks. He also drove them from his restaurant with a pistol and pickax in hand. He closed his business after a federal court ruled that he must integrate the facility. In 1994, Mark Madden brought the interview to the attention of Hank Aaron. Mr. Aaron — who, at this point, was not only a baseball legend and a prominent civil rights figure, but also an important executive with Turner Broadcasting — petitioned to have Watts fired. Or Watts quit for other reasons, if you want to believe his word. Either way, Watts was out and Ole Anderson was in, albeit temporarily. Not long after, Turner decided to go with a choice outside the box, Eric Bischoff. "Easy E" went on to fire Anderson, take WCW to Monday nights to compete with the WWF, and eventually change the entire wrestling business.

Dan Maff's got to be up there: Sleeping with your trainer's (who is one of the biggest stars on the indies) little sister who is 16 at the time.
Although he avoided jail time it was technically legal since the affair seemingly happened in New Jersey, Homicide was less than pleased to find out that a man he'd trusted and considered a friend had slept with his sister who was still legally a child, and told any company that if they continue booking him, I won't work for you anymore.
While the two have since patched things up Maff's career never recovered.

Bumping this because someone may have ended their career just as he was blowing up on the indies.
Nolan Edward was starting to get booked a lot in GCW in 2021, and looked like he was going to be a main stay in the company, as well as a lot of the other top indies in the US. However, it turns out the guy is a textbook abuser, and had already had one ex-girlfriend speak out about her experiences being in a relationship with Nolan in 2020. One day, he decides to apologize to another one of his ex-girlfriends he was horrible to, and in the process, outed female indie wrestler Alice Crowley as one of his exes. Alice had come out with her story, but kept the identity of her abuser anonymous because she feared potential backlash from Nolan's friends and fans.
Turns out this was a really bad idea, because people shortly realized just by going onto her Twitter that Alice Crowley is only 18 years old, and just graduated high school this year, meaning Nolan accidentally outed himself as an ephebophile who was dating high school kids long past the age where that's considered acceptable. Nolan goes dark on social media for a few weeks, as he wasn't scheduled for anything in the month of August. Yesterday, ICW:NHB decided to announce Nolan Edward vs. Jimmy Jacobs for their October show in Michigan, marking Nolan's first announced booking since the story blew up. It lasted forty minutes before Danny Demanto retracted the announcement, especially after he claimed he "investigated" the claims against Nolan, only for his first ex-girlfriend I mentioned earlier, and someone in contact with Crowley's father both revealed that said "investigation" didn't involve either of them being contacted.
Suffice to say, I can't imagine too many reputable promoters are going to want the bad press that comes with booking Nolan Edward any time soon.
EDIT: It has since come to light that Nolan and Alice started dating almost immediately after she turned 18, which means Nolan isn't straight out an ephebophile, but instead grooms them when they are underage, and starts abusive relationships when they are of age.

Paul Roma no-selling Alex Wright’s offense for the entire match. Filming a documentary on your fellow wrestlers getting stoned and taking prescription drugs on the road and threatening to release it. The person is Man Mountain Rock (1995 WWF) aka Maxx Payne (1993-94 WCW) Warrior’s 1998 WCW career. (Wasn’t he given complete creative control over the storyline leading up to the Hogan match?) ————————————————- Big Cass must have stepped into a body swapping machine with King Kong Bundy and thought he was competing in WrestleMania 3 that night. The trailer for man mountain rocks documentary looked awesome...I can't imagine how many lawsuit threats he got for it...

Promoter proposes a gimmick that involves styling your hair in a red dyed Mohawk and crowing-badly, in an effort to imitate fowl.
You say yes.

Gotta be Nailz laying his hands on Vince. I mean, what did he think was gonna happen? Vince going "Oh, okay, now I absolutely changed my mind about the payoff, you're right, pal"?

Gotta be Nailz laying his hands on Vince. I mean, what did he think was gonna happen? Vince going "Oh, okay, now I absolutely changed my mind about the payoff, you're right, pal"? And yet he was smart enough to immediately call the police and say that Vince had sexually assaulted him, forcing a legal standstill if Vince tried to sue or press charges.
