Out today in cinemas and on Peacock. I absolutely loved it. Here's my spoiler free four minute review:
See this in theaters if you can. Can't imagine the 'Cock doing it justice.

Kills was absoloutley flawed but this was such a terrible end to this trilogy.

Honestly have zero desire to watch this. Hated Kills and it's ending. Honestly thought the first of this trilogy had the best ending and was the best film of the three.

It's.... different. Not at all what I expected.
It kinda feels like two movies put into one.
Lots of cool and interesting ideas... but I'm not 100% sure it's a good ending for Michael and Laurie.

I always thought that Halloween 2018 had the same problem that Jurassic World had. It's a fun nostalgia trip tribute to an old movie series we all grew up with, but there just wasn't enough new or interesting happening with it to really revive the franchise going forward.

Halloween 2018 is a great standalone sequel. It works as a tribute to the original and honestly, it works as a fitting end as well. Halloween Kills is a good movie, with a weak last 15 minutes or so. It starts so strong. Ends.... just didn't feel like the grand finale it promised to be.

As I wrote in the horror thread and in My review…the problem with these last two movies in particular is that they’re interested in stories about Haddonfield more than Michael and Laurie. These aren’t bad movies. They just aren’t good Halloween movies. If Jamie Lee Curtis hadn’t come back for these last two movies…I could argue all day that these were interesting choices worth celebrating this deep into the franchise. But she did. You had Laurie frigging Strode at your disposal and you treated her like an ancillary character. Twice. It was somehow more annoying in Ends because they did give the final confrontation as promised. But they did it in a movie that had almost literally nothing to do with those characters. It felt out of place in its own movie. But I did think Ends was a better movie than Kills. It has more to say at least.

I hated it. This was not the movie to be trying the stuff they were throwing out there, this movie needed to be the finale to Michael and Laurie. I have no idea how they f***ed up such an easy landing.

I enjoyed listening to your review. Nicely done. Hey, thanks for listening! My friend hated Kills... so I wonder what she'll think of Ends Full disclosure, I think "Kills" is bottom 3 of the franchise and the 2018 'Halloween' is Top 3 of the franchise and I still loved this one.

Overall . . . I liked it.
Maybe I'm just so used to the series' continuity being torn to shreds through Thorn cults and Busta Rhymes and Zombie fan fiction that I'm open to just about any direction this franchise decides to take, but I did genuinely enjoy the ride with this one.

I enjoyed it. It had great character work. But it feels kinda... idk, something is missing. The final fight between Laurie and Michael is very disappointing compared to how the trailers built it up. Idk. I'll probably watch it again and catch some things i didn't the first time. Honestly I wish this one and Kills swapped places in the continuity. Of course you'd have to have Laurie and Micheal actually interact in Kills. That said, I've enjoyed this new trilogy. I'm curious what the next chapter for this series will hold. Also, how long until we get the next reboot?

I'll be watching this tomorrow, so I can find out how the third fourth Halloween movie turns out.
Why is this the series with five timelines to it again?

Because each timeline runs into problems they can’t reconcile eventually. 1-2-4-5–6 gets down the road on trying to explain Michael Myers evil and killed Laurie offscreen…so when Jamie Lee Curtis came back for H20 they had to remove the last three movies. 1-2-H20-Ressurection they kill Laurie again but more importantly they were going full reboot anyway Rob Zombie 1 + 2 is it’s own thing 3 is it’s own thing where Halloween is a movie that exists in the movie 1-2018-Kills-Ends had to remove H20 and Resurrection because Curtis came back again. They chose to remove 2 so they could undo that Michael and Laurie were related. Also because 2 ends with Michael burning to death. Not that the timelines that carry on from it ever cared.

The thing is, H20 didn't even need retcon 4-6 out of existence. The whole "Laurie faked her death" thing could have worked. In fact, early scripts mentioned the 4-6 happenings and had a scene with Laurie acknowledging Jamie's death.

Can’t we just get a sequel to Season of the Witch?

I know but her daughter who she left behind to die while having a son the same age in H20 is a tough ask. fun fact…Laurie has three children in three timelines and they were all born the same year

If they do more Halloween movies in the future (no reason not to...got money to make)
I would love for them to continue from part 4 and do a trilogy with Danielle Harris in the starring role ...this way you still have Michael without rebooting the whole damn thing (again), still keep it teathered to a movie in the original series but don't need to do Laurie Strode all over again.
Now whether it would be with Danielle Harris in the role of the protagonist idk because I never did like we never did get a follow up to that ending.
