Khan doubled down on the network possibly not allowing the Briscoes more even though he tried. I have to give him props here for realizing the potential.

What is their issue with booking the Briscoes? Their past comments (Jay's past comments, because Mark as far as I have ever seen has never said anything) on the LGBTQ community Despite making strides to show improvement and change and admission to how wrong that mindset was, which has been backed up by people around them, I assume that a very specific tweet from Jay has followed them around and there was apparently "One Executive at WB" specifically that had been curbing The Briscoes from ever showing up on AEW. There were questions on if the merger would change things and if that specific executive was still there, but by the sounds of things, it looks like he either might be or the sentiment continues Idk if that'll ever change, but hey at least there are wrestlers who can own up and try and change their mentality, so I give props to the Briscoes for that, who knows if it'll overshadow their careers until they're done, but that's been the reasoning as of now.

I'm surprised that's still the case with all the executive turnover from WB to WB Discovery.

I would imagine yes but there is no reason to intentionally piss off the network when he can possibly brand them to ROH in the future for good

He has talked about it in interviews. From earlier this year: It's from this interview > www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR4vv_zJGnkSomething on social media would be good though. More visible, easier to share.

A more visible, seeable apology would definitely be in the guy's favour because people like me endu p with zero idea he ever said a word on the matter.

Guessing that it is about their homophobic comments from a decade ago. Have the Briscoes tried to reconcile and/or apologize for those comments?

A lot of people who know them have said they have genuinely changed and are trying to be better people these days.

Ian frequents the FAN boards as well and has said they've very open and willing to listen and learn these days Edit: You can see the quote above from it in another post

And honestly the reason for their hatred checks, a lot of super religious people especially back then thought hating gay people was "Fighting for what God believed in", and thankfully there have been a good number of those people who in the modern day have realized how f***ing stupid that sounds and have opened their minds way more about the topic of LGBTQ and acceptance. And while he never denounced his brother for what he said, I do feel bad for Mark, because the dude never said or did anything, but he was Jay's brother and his career is essentially latched to his hip, so he suffered too. He could have felt the same way too I don't know, but I'm glad he's also put forth the same effort to show support now regardless.

I don’t care for The Briscoes so I’m fine with never seeing them.

Again, my metric is for them to do something to support one of the Drag Queen Storytime events whether financially or providing security, as it's the exact kind of 'teach my kids' situation that they railed at before and it's also something that's really being targeted with hatred at this exact moment and could use the help.
But my metrics aside, there are many talented tag teams out there without a spotlight who aren't associated with such advertiser friendly things as confederate flag imagery, stealing a fan's pride flag and using it to choke an opponent in 2018 knowing the optics, or y'know, threatening to murder queer people. Why do some people deserve dozens of second chances while others don't get the first chance?

Why do some people deserve dozens of second chances while others don't get the first chance? Yeah, that'd be a great gesture, among some others. I am willing to forgive, but the snippet makes it sound like he's made a bunch of apologies, and I'm sure he has in-person, but if you don't really put it out there, how will anyone know about it? And yeah, like you say, there's been no shortage of top talents out there, so I get why Warner has been unmoved so far. I'm reminded of Scorpio Sky saying in interviews that he went to Sonny and Nyla, and some others I think, to proactively apologize for anti-queer comments he'd made in the past to clear the air, and he put that out there in interviews. That's a good way of handling it. I think too many people think that what's being asked for is groveling, but no, just, some contrition and an explanation is typically a good gesture.

Hasn't Effy even went to bat for Mark and Jay by publicly saying they are good people?

Hasn't Effy even went to bat for Mark and Jay by publicly saying they are good people? I don't doubt it, if so. I know others have. That's part of what makes this frustrating. I don't know if he's just been trying to kayfabe or something, but Jay's inability to really say anything publicly about this for years and years screwed Mark and him out of money and opportunities.
