Adam Page was legitimately injured. The match was rightfully stopped and Jon Moxley cut a shoot promo out of concern for what had just happened. So I looked up and saw if Moxley cut that promo to cameras and have it up on the YouTube channel like Kenny's return promo or Shawn Spears' one after the six man tag in Canada and it's not there. Because usually those things go up not long after as an "Exclusive". They did not and it likely would have been wrong to do so. In that case it's not canon and was said to assure the crowd rather than be used for the story. Problem solved. If that's not good enough for you, we'll just have to shrug and agree to disagree.

Yeah, that off-camera promo was Jonathan Good addressing the crowd, not Jon Moxley.

I agree to disagree. The match is gonna rule at which point this is all just imo an exercise in preference in story telling. And I can completely understand the perspective of the majority of the posters on this issue. I don't see it that way but that's good, different perspectives are good. What I like less is people hearing Lance's argument and instead of viewing it as a valid argument they disagree with viewing it like the stupidest thing of all time.

Dude got a concussion from the lariat from Mox and couldn't remember his kid's name. I'd want a chance to redeem that loss and get a measure of revenge as well. No matter if everything was above board in terms of match rules or not. There are a lot of layers to this story and I appreciate it a lot.

Something's been bothering me about this whole stance of Lance's that, cause the injury was a shoot injury, it has nothing to do with explaining a kayfabe angle.
And like...what? The threat of injury in a match, in kayfabe terms, would be cause the other guy is trying to hurt you and you trying to hurt him, so if that happens, why wouldn't you be pissed off and out for revenge? Like, turning this injury into an angle isn't admitting that wrestling is kayfabed, if anything its leaning into kayfabe more? How doesn't he get this?

The way I see it:
Even if you consider the post-concussion promo from Mox (I don't, it clearly wasn't meant to be part of the show and it was the man, not the character speaking), there's still real and visceral shame that comes from what Page is talking about.
Hangman Page isn't just mad that he lost a match... he's embarrassed and ashamed that he got KO'd so badly that he forgot his son's name. Yeah, a "get well soon, buddy" is nice and all, but if you take all the context and reframe it in Kayfabe, it's less of a "f*** you, Mox" and more of a "I am disappointed with and hate myself for this happening, and the only way to fix any of it is by kicking your ass"
I think it's amazing storytelling and it's making chickensalad out of chickenshit, personally.
