Add me to the list of people who find movie productions fascinating. It's a wonder any ever get made. It's especially interesting with long-gestating projects when you see a variety of actors and creatives enter and exit for a variety of reasons, from the mundane (scheduling) to the crazy (fights)

The "fitness industry" (lol) can be fun at times until you realize that it is 90 % drama and "fitness" means getting as buff as possible in your early twenties and thinking lowly of almost everybody else. "Almost" because there still are lots of "bros". It may be the only "industry" that is full of bros in 2023.

I know entirely too much about some YouTube creators I don't watch because there have been multiple documentaries made about their shenanigans both off and on their channels.
Chris Chan, WingsOfRedemption, LowTierGod, and OnlyUseMeBlade come to mind.

I love reading about troubled movie productions, current and older ones. Stuff like the 90's adaptation of "The Isle of Dr. Moreau" and the struggle it had to even seeing theaters, is fascinating to me. The documentary Lost Soul about the making of Dr. Moreau '95 is much better than the movie itself.

My favorite little quip from all of the drama of that movie is Brando telling Val Kilmer that he was "confusing the size of his paycheck for the size of his talent".

Also, I was wondering what happened to Chris hansen and just fell into this rabbit hole of this same guy’s chronicling Hansens exploits. I mean, damn it’s like several hour long videos of Hansen being a creep milking his 15 minutes of fame. Also, there’s a T-cap (to catch a predator) community,

That they caught Fairuza Balk at the airport and dragged her back to the movie when she tried to run is my favorite story. Oh, and the fired director living in the woods near the set and dressing up in costume as an extra to spy on the production.

Had one great idea in his journalistic career, and he's been forced to run that into the ground much longer than he wanted to because it's all he's got, and the returns keep diminishing every year.

Highly successful musicians and bands intrigue the hell out of me. It just seems like the script always goes like this: Be incredibly talented, struggle for a bit, hit huge, piss off bandmates/friends, vow never to work together/wish death upon each other, reunite.

I love it when the band makes music that doesn't sound as though they should have any craziness, but they totally do. The Eagles are an amazing example of this, with their "third encore" and eventual break-up after a show spent with Glenn Frey repeatedly telling Don Felder he was going to beat the shit out of him after the set. Actually, if you haven't seen it, History of the Eagles is a good watch. It's where I learned that apparently any strife that lead to someone ending working with the band always seemed to come down to Frey. He and Don Henley don't always look the greatest in it, which is fascinating to me, since it's an authorized doc. (EDIT: It's possible Don Felder was the one saying he'd kick Glenn Frey's ass on stage and I may have the story backwards, but the point still remains, which is that the band was a mess.)

Matrixlord212, Sammi Carter, Doctor Freedom, MrTARDIS, NoelTARDISZone, Rabbi From Another Planet etc, there's a Facebook group you can search called 'Who Wars Strikes Back' which does an excellent job of mocking Matrixlord's antics in particular.

The whispers about drama between two of costars for both Castle and Good Wife happened nearly on top of each other and I'm still shaking my head over some of it, and that CBS still hasn't entirely cut ties with Good Wife all of these years later to the point they're piloting another spinoff of the show.

The drama behind The Good Wife is honestly kind of nuts. It honestly sounds maybe even more chaotic than Charmed, which also famously had a lot of conflicts, only some of that is spoken of openly, like Rose McGowan taking shots at Alyssa Milano, the latter of whom was rumored to be why Shannen Doherty left the show. The Doherty thing at the time wasn't terribly shocking, as Shannen had left 90210 over feuding with cast and crew, but it sounds like it was certainly not all on her. Armin Shimerman did a guest spot on Charmed and was deeply unimpressed with the leads, singling it out as easily the worst set he'd ever worked on and that the stars were cast appropriately as witches.

Does the furry fandom count as an industry given the size if it? I'm friends with folk who arr staff at a bunch of major cons so get the inside track on a lot of drama and it's always fascinating.

That's funny, I was 100% thinking of the Eagles when I wrote that. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, so I just wonder what their 14 year 'vacation' could have resulted in. I haven't watched the documentary since one of my friends told me it was a hit piece on Henley, but maybe I'll give it a gander for myself.

Haha great minds (and finally, someone who hasn't quoted The Big Lebowski to me upon hearing the band's name!) The doc doesn't exactly shroud Frey or Henley in glory, but it's authorized, which I find amazing. Between the two, I think maybe Frey came off looking worse? The whole segment about the fight with Felder is just... oof, not his finest moment, imo. I don't know if they realize how they sometimes came across or not, but they signed off on it. But yeah, I'd say it's worth a gander, if you feel inclined. Unsure how much of it you'll already know, but still could be an interesting watch.
