We all love wrestling, but many of us find the backstage drama more interesting.
What other industries do you follow that the backstage drama and news? I’m always quite amused when I come across an interesting video on Billy Mitchell and gaming stuff, but not a huge follower. That Vic Mignona thread was eye opening for all the things people seem to know about voice actors and their personal lives and the weird stories people don’t forget.
I think the most amusing, is going on YouTube and reading the comment sections about the local news and the outrage when one news anchor jumps ship or is fired. I’m like “how did these people know what happened the 4 am news reporter for my local news affiliate??”

For a long time, it was acting in Hollywood. Still a bit to an extent but with how fragmented it’s become (or expansive?) it’s either hard to come by or not as well known.
I go between being intrigued about the drama between podcasters and “current figures” to wishing id never heard of them.

I hate that I know as much as I do about Chris Chan.

I've found the entire DCEU/Snyderverse rise and fall through Dwayne Johnson's attempt to seize power and ultimately lose out to James Gunn incredibly fascinating. The movies that resulted from all that haven't always been great, but I'd be willing to read a book that covers everything (and isn't a Snydercult puff-piece).

The whole Superman Lives movie fiasco is great. There is a fully movie about. It featured: -A screenplay written my Kevin Smith -Jon Peters (who got his start in hollywood as Barbara Streisand's hairdresser) giving weird input -A story of Superman's death, which included him being killed by a giant mechanical spider (Peters used the same concept in Wild Wild West with Will Smith) -A Superman costume with flashing lights -Tim Burton was signed the direct the film -Nic Cage was cast to play Superman -Not using any existing DC villains (except for Lex Luthor) The movie that documented this potential blockbuster is mostly just Kevin Smith being mad that they ruined his script and him making fun of how inept Jon Peters is

I love reading about troubled movie productions, current and older ones. Stuff like the 90's adaptation of "The Isle of Dr. Moreau" and the struggle it had to even seeing theaters, is fascinating to me.

Some standup backstage stories from back in the day were interesting due to me reading Kliph Nesteroffs book and the backstage stories of SNL have always peaked my interest or even rock and roll stories

Both weave in great stories about his early years in the 90's LA stand-up scene.

I like following the behind the scenes of comics to an extent. Especially nowadays when it seems like even DC and Marvel might stop making actual comic books (at least in-house) at some point in the near future
Oh and I love stories about the music industry, especially from like 20 years and before when record companies and things like that mattered.

TV and film backstage drama is always fascinating. I know the book has been slammed by some of the particulars as being inaccurate, but Easy Riders, Raging Bulls goes deep into the New Hollywood scene of the late 60s through the early 80 and its an amazing read.
The 80s/90s saga of Marvel is crazy to read about too; the particulars of the bankruptcy/battle for Marvel ownership I would dismiss as being exaggerated if not for so much of it being thoroughly documented.

The Disaster Artist, the book about notorious turkey The Room, is easily one of my favorite books ever. It reads like harrowing memoir about an abusive relationship. The movie doesn't nearly do it justice.

Just want to recommend the documentary "Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films", it's a laugh from beginning to end.

Crypto. It's fascinating. Everything sounds so stupid and brazenly criminal that you think you must be missing something but nope.
The rise and fall of FTX in particular will make one hell of a movie.
That sort of extends to the actions of the likes of Logan Paul and Elon Musk, I guess questionable big business is the category? Like how Musk ended up having to buy twitter and couldn't get out of the deal like he tried.

Like how Musk ended up having to buy twitter and couldn't get out of the deal like he tried. Even when true believers try to explain it, it ends up described as a magic money box, like the scammiest scam. Even knowing that, they still throw money in the box, even after seeing others lose fingers trying to get money back out because they might not lose theirs when they try to cash out. web3isgoinggreat.com/ is a great ongoing blog about all the finger losses.

The Power Rangers dramas, from Austin, Thuy, and Walter's unceremonious departure over pay issues and briefly being replaced by bad dubbing, to David Yost walking off set because of homophobia, to the past online reputation of Rangerboard.com, to Bruce Kalish's 'Kalishsplosions" and relationship with fandom, the production woes of the greatest season RPM (which had two showrunners), and even the tragedies of Jason David Frank and Austin St. John.

Don't forget about the minor miracle it took for Danny Slavin to even acknowledge he was on the show, let alone come back for sparse cameos.

Richard Dawson, once he got big on Family Feud, and the results of that over on Match Game and behind the scenes on Feud itself.
