This sucks, Dragon Ball was such a big part of my life growing up and it would have never been the same if anyone but Toriyama created it.

Awful news. He did so much between Dragon Ball and the art for Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger. RIP Akira.

Incredibly sad to hear. But man - what a life he had. I hope we all can have one so fulfilling.

I don't think it would inaccurate to say that Akira Toriyama might be the most influential artist/creator in the world for people around to 40-45 years and under. Dragon Ball was such a huge part of pop culture in the 90s, and still is to this day. Much less other projects he was involved in like Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger.

Losing Kazuki Takahashi a couple of years ago so suddenly, and now this. It's really sad.

Oh damn, RIP. I'm stunned, one of the GOATs and such a creative force. Dragon Ball was such a huge part of my childhood, and my whole life really.

This guy is the reason so many of us got into Anime. Dragonball was definitely one of the first ones for so many people, it definitely was for me, and I thank him for it
They said he had multiple projects in different stages of completion, so I hope they all are fulfilled. DAIMA is gonna be an emotional watch now, for sure.

Really motivates me to want to play Chrono Trigger again. Been wanting to for awhile anyway but is kind of the main thing he's associated with I'm like really into, is pretty amusing how clearly a lot of the characters in their official art are just kind of redressed Dragon Ball designs.
Between this and the composer Dragon Quest 12 is probably going to feel like a really morbid end of an era when it finally comes out.

Man....without Dragon Ball, there would be no One Piece, no Naruto, pretty much any Shonen in the last twenty years.
And then his work with Dragon Quest...dude was a legend in entertainment.

I did not grow up watching Dragon Ball as it was after my childhood.
But I feel a total mass of pain for everyone here and all the fans all over the globe.
What a huge loss to the industry.
