Becky's been cooking since she started promoting her book's released. She's said a lot over the past few days that's been pretty interesting. Since it's a lot of tweets I'm going to put the text in quotes if they don't show up.

Ronda stuff

In her book, Becky Lynch revealed the finish for her WrestleMania main event with Ronda Rousey and Charlotte was supposed to be Becky tapping Ronda out clean.

When Ronda arrived at rehearsals, she refused to tap out as her mother would never talk to her again if she tapped.

“I mean this with respect, but she couldn’t wrestle.” - Becky Lynch says Ronda Rousey was a star but not a wrestler and was mishandled in that sense.

She also says at 19, she wanted to be a TNA Knockout because their women’s division was better than WWE

She says after the 1st match everybody treated her like she knew how but it only looked that way cause she was in there with Kurt, HHH & Steph

Becky Lynch references her tweets to Charlotte Flair in 2018/19.

She regrets those tweets and wishes she never put them out there because they can cost you real relationships.

She says she broke the trust she had with several people so she doesn’t do those tweets anymore.

Other random stuff

Becky confirmed Fightful's report that she's only got 2 more months left on her contract. She isn't worried.

Ronda shouldn't be submitting to Lynch. It is too unrealistic. The bad thing about that match was the botched raised shoulder. I thought Ronda was a decent wrestler during her first run. I wouldn't pay Becky like a top 5 wrestler, because she is not.

For me a big what if with Becky Lynch is what if they had followed up her WM victory with compelling storylines, a still emphasized women's division and built up competitors. At the time she was legitimately the hottest act in wrestling and they followed up her Main Eventing Wrestlemania with a 5 month feud with Lacey Evans followed by a heatless match on Summerslam with Natalya that was slapped together the week before the show. As soon as Rhonda was out the door the women's division was deemphasized hard and it showed. People talk about there being no one for Rhea apart from Becky, but things were far more barren then and zero effort was made to build anyone. There were talented women still there that could have put on bangers with Lynch and had compelling storylines. Lacey Evans should never have been more than a one off opponent.

She talked about that too. How she didn’t think her post-Mania run was good because they didn’t have anyone built up to face her after she won, and that Lacey definitely wasn’t ready for that slot.

Yeah, up to that point Lacey had spent almost the entire time walking up and down the aisle waving randomly. Apart from that she'd had a mediocre Rumble showing. How that translated into a 5 month feud with the hottest star in the business is beyond me. She was definitely not ready for that slot.

It would be like if Stone Cold at the height of his popularity spent 5 months feuding with D'Lo Brown and then Hardcore Holly won a match a week before Summerslam to face Austin for the title.

1. Literally everyone in MMA taps in practice and sparing. You're not special, it's just how the sport works. It's less "quitting" and more just not letting yourself get seriously injured. Submission is also the most common form of decision in MMA and it's happened to nearly everyone

2. Pro Wrestling is fiction. Kurt Angle once tapped 5 times in a Iron Man match to Benoit. Literally no one thinks less of him.

I'm really glad that Becky and Charlotte are friends again. It bummed me out that they had a real life falling out over all of that.

And I thought Ronda was pretty good during her first run, but she definitely regressed during her second for whatever reasons. She was mostly awful, and no one ever looked good in a program with her.

She's right to regret crossing the line with the Charlotte stuff, honestly. Like, that's an issue people run into with social media. You can use it as a promotion tool, but if you're going further on there than you would on TV, don't kid yourself into thinking you aren't playing with fire, and don't piss and moan if the people you burned take issue with it.

Becky’s been doing a lot of great interviews promoting the book, and most of the interviewers come away seemingly impressed with her.

Really enjoyed what I saw of her on Entertainment Tonight.

Finding otu that the whole thing cost her that friendship and broke trust between them is kind of crazy, but it does go a long way in underscoring the main issue with people are so deep in needing to "work" everyone on twitter. These two were good friends in a feud and it still ended up being a problem, so now think about how many people get bruised from some shithead deciding he's gonna "start working" someone they aren't involved with.

That portion of the book is interesting, because you can tell she's trying to be fair to Charlotte's perspective (while explaining that at the time she thought Charlotte was 'being a baby'), and expresses regret for some of her social media, but she also doesn't really explain why it was hurtful. She brings up commenting on WWE's preference for blondes, but leaves out the digs she was taking at Charlotte's appearance and plastic surgery (like that 'everything about you is fake!' promo), which were probably the parts that hurt her most. She also doesn't talk about her shift to doing most of her 2018/19 interviews in-character, which included lines like how if not for her, the other women in the division would just be 'brushing each other's hair', which probably didn't help matters.

Also, on the Ronda/tapping story, it's actually even worse than that tweet makes out. It came up when they were proposing a sequence where Ronda would nearly tap out before Charlotte broke it up, and even that was too much.

Yeah, they claimed they ran into him and that Cornette claimed they had 'the only angle that's working everyone'. Because of it, they refuse to work with or around Cornette, for some pretty justified reasons.

thing is if Corny like talked to them before burying them constantly... the Bucks probably would have gone along with it to a point...

but even then like... what Cornette forgets if that's true is... like working has to lead to an end game... and like what's the point about pretending to hate the Young Bucks? It's not like they were even in the same company for most of it.
