Nah, I'm sure they're rewarding him for being the top heel on the show

Nah, I'm sure they're rewarding him for being the top heel on the show I'm pretty sure somebody who gets anywhere between apathy and occasional audible amount of heat, usually when Vince is using him as a flunky, is not the top heel on the show. Umaga got far more heat than Orton did last Monday. Also, Orton is still chronically lacking in the charisma department. Unless somebody now has an explanation for why he decided the best way to show his smug exaltation at being champion was to pretend he was a statue and not emote at all.

He's the "other" third generation star. They're just assuming every third generation star is going to be solid gold, just like the Rock. Randy ain't no Rock though, and I don't think he ever will be. The 'he's not the Rock argument' is totally unfair though. You'll likely NEVER see another Rock inasmuch as a guy that can grab people's attention in wrestling and then go on to transcend the sports entertainment like he has. Even Hogan, Austin, Flair et al haven't been able to do what Rock has. So the, he won't ever be the Rock, isn't really a fair criticism of Orton, like him or dislike him.

Orton got good heat at No Mercy, and the fact that Umaga actually stayed in the ring and gave HHH the beatdown whereas Orton left might help in the whole "he got heat" subject, also the boring thing is your opinion and not much of an argument at all. I'll give you that his promo on Monday wasn't great but what can ya do? But I got my opinion and you got yours (which you've made clear time after time again ) so we'll just have to disagree on the Orton issue.

I agree we're agreeing to disagreeing, but I'd like to point out it wasn't just his promo, the ENTIRE night he was just acting like he didn't want to be there in the least. I have never seen somebody more bored to be World Champion.

Chavo is also a 3rd generation wrestler, and the grandson of one of Mexico's most legendary wrestlers, arguably second only to El Santo because Chavo's grampa was El Santo's tag partner. As to why Randy gets away with murder and still gets pushed down our throats, again:

Beats the hell out of me. I've been trying to figure that one out for years now. I've never seen such a boring, bland, and flat out uninteresting character such as Orton.
Orton = sleeping pill to me anyways. I've had lectures that are more entertaining than him.

yeah, vince has fired guys for less than the problems orton has gotten into. why does he continue to turn a blind eye when it comes to randy? Maybe because a lot of the stuff reported didn't actually happen? Also I find it quite unnerving that people believe that a violation of the wellness policy should result in discipline. When you have a drug problem you need help not be punished just because someone behind a computer screen is peeved that you employ rest-holds.

Hes controversial in his supposed happenings beyond the mat. Not so much a bad boy but a star with controversy in his life.
WWE won't let him go because the competition would love to have someone like this that really stirs up the pot.

are you actually comparing orton to Jericho?! In a way yes. Orton is a natural heel if ultilised right he could be a good asset to the main event scene.

are you actually comparing orton to Jericho?! You know I think absence has made the heart grow finder. Jericho was an entertaining upper mid carder. But he wasn't Austin or Rock. Him and Orton are good but in very different ways. Jericho is great on the mic, but an inconsistent wrestler. Orton, meanwhile is hit or miss on the mic but a consistent main event wrestler. Two totally different wrestlers.

Maybe Orton is playing Steve Lombardi to Vince's inner Pat Patterson?
Not that there's anything wrong with that...

He can do it all - not necessarily great at anything, but very good at everything. Through in the Orton name and you have a quality main eventer.
And I love how certain guys bring out the morality of the board - honestly, who cares that the trashed a hotel room or whatever? If that it was one of the IWC darlings, they wouldn't be on their high horse about it.

Dude is a superb heel with good looks and is a solid worker in the ring.
He may be a douchebag in reality, and I wouldn't blame WWE for holding him back because of it, but as a wrestler he is definitely push-worthy.

I can understand hating Orton because in your opinion he's a boring character or lame. I think 80% of the WWE is boring and lame.
But the whole "He's a douche backstage" argument gets so old and tedious. Among the Orton haters, it's as if he was the Quarterback at their highschool and he screwed your girlfriend or something.
Also anyone who's had any kind of job. Knows that the bosses Daughters, or friend of the family always gets more chances than anyone else and gets promoted before anyone else. That's just the way business is.
