Well here's proof Orton is indeed prized, with the public behind him...

He can do it all - not necessarily great at anything, but very good at everything. Through in the Orton name and you have a quality main eventer. And I love how certain guys bring out the morality of the board - honestly, who cares that the trashed a hotel room or whatever? If that it was one of the IWC darlings, they wouldn't be on their high horse about it. Personally I don't care if he goes to hotel rooms and tears down the walls as long as he has accountants pay for it all. Yeah but I don't think he's still sane after all he's been through, though life's been good to him so far. EDIT: Oh, and to adress an earlier point, I would not kill to have the look of a shit-for-brains fratboy.

I read all the replies, and I guess people like him. That should be good enough for the WWE. They promise to entertain, not to press for quality. I can't stand him. I don't watch his matches, and often change the channel when he's doing a promo. He's a bad human being. Dress that up in whatever terms you like, it comes down to the same thing: I wouldn't want him in my living room. There have been other wrestlers who have been bad human beings, but that doesn't change the bottom line. The whole rest of the world could be populated with bad human beings, and Randy Orton would still be a bad human being. All that having said, I don't suspect my judgement means anything to the WWE, or to whoever reads this. You can feel free to think he's great, and that he's entertaining. That's why he's on your TV. It's too bad that his title run means I'll be missing an awful lot of Raw for the next few months, but so it goes.

I've never thought of Randy as a truly bad person or anything like that.
Don't get me wrong, trashing a hotel room is dumb and immature, but it's not a DUI or an assult. No one got hurt.
Is he a bad person for using steroids? Not really. Unless he's pushing them on anyone else, it's something that affects him and him only.
If he gets caught beating up his wife or something equally awful, I'll agree. But all this 'Orton is a bad human being' stuff is nonsense. Especially coming a few months after the most evil act in wrestling history. If that doesn't put things into perspective I don't know what will.

When people say "He's not The Rock...." They seem to forget how god-awful the rock was for the early part of his career. His character only took off once fans thought he was that awful they all actually turned on him, even though he was trying to be a classic 80's style face.

I mean, he's an asshole, no doubt, but I'm fairly certain he's never gone insane and murdered 2 people.

Ah, the old Randy Orton = butthole debate. He's paid to wrestle, not be a role model. He's comes off as a natural heel, and basically has been one for the majority of his career.
Oh, and I honestly think if he wasn't such a handsome man, people wouldn't complain so much. Noone complains this much over other guys that are supposedly rude.

As said by others:
1) 3rd generation Superstar [ie: some doors were open b/c of his name] 2) looks 3) gets heat [legit, cheap, internet dirty sheets... any heat is good heat] 4) can work a match [good selling, decent psychology] 5) WWE's project

Evidently, there are no Marines, or former Marines on this board. Dishonorable discharge is something we take seriously. Very seriously. That's fine. I don't expect you to understand. But, that's why I think he's a bad human being. The rest is just confirmation that he's nobody I want to know.

I'm not one to bash the armed forces, however, wouldn't you rather NOT have him be there than have him be there and not want to be there? I mean, if I were in battle or whatever, I'd want to be there with people that wanted to be there. I know it's taken seriously, and he served his time behind bars for it. I just don't consider him a bad man for making a mistake.

This is really the one thing that DOES piss me off about Orton, and it's really the only absolutely confirmed negative about him as a person (hell, they made it an angle for God's sake). Thing is, it wasn't dishonorable discharge, it was DISSERTION, which is a felony, and a federal crime to boot. Just seems strange that, third gen or not, pet project with "the look" or not, the company that parades their Tribute to the Troops shows about, and points to their dedication to the armed forces, continues to push a man who, for whatever else he does that might make him a dick (if true), is a confirmed disserter of those same armed forces. Rockstars trash hotel rooms too. Sports figures and celebs are aloof and dickish to fans, but no one says "don't give him a movie role, he's an ass". Drugs...well, he's not alone there either. And many have used their names or connections to get jobs that they never earned. However, find me five military disserters in the entertainment or sports industry who, after it is acknowledged that they did so, are paraded about.

He just seems like a very unlikeable guy to me. Yes, I know, I've never met him personally and I'm not supposed to judge a wrestler based on (lots of) reports I've heard about him unless his name is Bret Hart and then it's somehow ok and must be true, but going from what I've heard and what I've heard only, he sounds completely up his own ass.

Unless you have served in the military. Than you have no right to complain about Randy Orton.
He may be a deserter. But you're a chickenhawk, so what difference does it make?
And again WWE is not a church. They have no obligation to push only "moral" and "good" people.
Keifer Sutherland was recently busted for his second DUI. Is 24 going to punish him and give his push to Tony Almeida?

I say give him the Nathan Jones or Ken Patera post-prison push.

I just don't get why everyone cares. "Oh my god he trashed a hotel room, I'm outraged!!"
Really what's it got to do with you? Nothing.
