It's the laziest booking of all time. Just awful.

Seth. He'll become more secure in his spot and more willing to go against the grain. Roman was just as much a company man as Seth was when his forced push as top guy started in 2014/15. If Rollins got to main event 4 WMs in a row without justification and continued to be "THE GUY" after a wellness policy violation, he'd be more willing to go against the grain like Roman is now.

I'm loving the new Trial series, but skipping over literally minutes of the show now, and it use to be I never skipped over anything other than the "GIVE US MONEY" parts and the reading of fan letters. I'm f***ing sick of the god damn Vince voice. Not every mention of the guy has to have a 2 minute tangent in that god damn growly low voice. I guess its It's more tolerable/understandable because of what they're discussing ATM with Vince and the trial, but I've been listening to the show for like 3 years now and its really getting old to me. The Vince impression. Not the show. It's the same f***ing shit everytime. "GOTTA JUICE WE'RE ENTERTAINMENT PATTERSON GOTTA JUIIIIICE THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT WE'RE ENTERTAINMENT PATTERSON WE'RE ENTERTAINMENT ITS WHAT WE DO WERE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT GOTTA GET ON THE JUICE". Only stretch that out with long pauses and repressed giggling over a full minute, usually.

He doesn't look bad for his age but that narrative some people seem to have of "WOW AUSTIN DOESNT AGE HES LOOK THE SAME FOR TWENTY YEARS" is absolute delusion.

I'm sick of this ridiculous narrative that HHH was going over guys clean and just destroying them for 3 years. Nope. Not even close to reality. It was always due to interference or cheating. Literally always.
Also, the HHH RoT was really only terrible in 2003. By 2004 he was much, much more tolerable. By summer 04 he seemed much more secure, he eased up on the notion that RAW should be a big platform for him to cosplay as Ric Flair, and just didn't dominate the show as much.

I also remember some segment with Heyman, Trips and Stephanie where the former made some remark of Trips being a bad influence on his kids, or something. Then Trips and Stephanie get all aggro over him bringing up their family, as if it's a no-go zone. But then Stephanie immediately turns it around and mocks Heyman for being a bad influence on his own kids. Like FFS, so everyone's out of line now? That was one of the first times I remember being really f***ing annoyed with Stephanies emasculation act. She storms down to the ring, trying to look so badass and says not to mention her kids. Heyman didn't even really badmouth them. He just mentioned they had them or something. Then Stephanie DIRECTLY badmouths him regarding his kid, and once Heyman again...just MENTIONS that they have kids, Stephanie takes him down. She wasn't even talking about him being a bad influence. She was saying his kids had a failure for a father. Never mind the fact that Stephanie could never do a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the things Heyman was able to do with the little resources he had. She had all the resources anyone could ever hope to have when she took over creative and got nothing but dwindling critical and box office results in terms of TV ratings and buy rates. Heyman had jack shit and two major companies constantly poaching his talent and he built up ECW into a very viable nationwide third option.

Seth was getting great face pops from the moment he turned face, but it wasn't until the angle with Ambrose in summer 2017 that he officially turned face to a lot of people. Only in Vince-land could a guy the fans wanted to cheer be forced to be a heel when going up against a guy the fans hated who was playing the face...

Like I said in another thread, Roman’s mellowed Out since the cancer scare and it’s understandable why so he’s probably not as willing to go full in on things relating to the company as he would because life’s too short on that. He could have easily been a company man in the way Seth was but didn’t so props. He was totally a company man, the same way Seth is when WWE started pushing him in the number one spot they are with Rollins now. He'd always defend WWE and would say whatever Vince wanted him to say. It's easy to be a maverick type after almost half a decade of the WWE showing his spot is in no danger no matter what he does or says. Seth doesn't have that. If Rollins main evented 4 WMs in a row despite being booed out the door every time (as a face), and a wellness violation on his record, I'd imagine he'd be more secure in his position and willing to go against the grain a bit more.

Have Bret face Taker for the title at Survivor Series. I don't think they ever had a rematch for Takers loss at Summerslam. Taker wins the belt. HBK beats him the next month, maybe due to Kane that could play a factor in setting up WM. That sets up things on the original timeline where HBK is the champion and he and Taker feud early into 98... They did at One Night Only in Birmingham UK ended in a DQ In his book Bret says it was his last great match in the WWF www.dailymotion.com/video/x5xq9plFine. It ended in DQ. Means no real definite victor, so have the final match at Survivor Series.

But in hindsight Cole and JBL's quivering lips reaction to it hasn't aged well. We needed JR for that, screaming with righteous disgust "BAH GAWD SETH NO! THOSE MEN ARE YOUR BROTHERS! DON'T DO THIS. NO! SETH ROLLINS IS A JUDAS A MAN WHO HAS DESTROYED EVERYTHING HE HAD FOR THE AUTHORITIES PIECES OF SILVER! WHAT A VILE HUMAN BEING BAH GAWD" and so on... You could say that for literally any big heel moment of the last twelve years. The one instance I really think Cole did better than JR would have was Punk beating Cena at MITB 2011. The subdued "Oh my God" when Punk won was perfect. His tone of "holy shit, it happened" was 100x better than what would have probably been typical over the top "BAH GAWD CM PUNK BY GAWD!" from JR.

Eh, the only thing I find people making a fuss over dumb is Seth Rollins "...I'll have a lunatic in mine". Suddenly everyone criticizes that line when you know damn well they didn't take notice of it until Dean brought it up on the Jericho podcast.

I really like they should have charged like 30 bucks. Money isn't a factor at this point with the company and they should be focusing on getting as many fans possible to see the show.

I absolutely love the first hour or so where they talk about what was going on in the company/business at the time of the show. Everything after that from the letters from fans that always has the same old "GIVE ME WHAT I NEED IN THAT ASS HARD" and "CAUSE IT USE TO BE BETTER" shit, and them basically saying they should be given money I always skip. Then the "deep dive" part is good too. Though I like to listen to Bryan & Vinny after listening to TLF just because they don't gloss over awful flaws and don't look at the past with rose colored glasses. Are you brand new to TLF cause they bury the old stuff all the time usually saying they loved it at the time but it hasn’t aged well? Its been awhile since I’ve listened to B&V regularly but they always seemed to rant about everything except if it was something from when they were kids that they loved, something featuring wrestlers that they loved or stupid comedy they loved but you get none of the detail as you do in TLF.In alot of ways both shows are different sides of the same coin as B&V back when I listened they would have their fake freakouts & rants because their fanbase loved hearing them and thought they were real.B&V are older now and have seemed to have mellowed out alot and on the rare cases I have heard them recently seem to be going through the motions and I imagine the same will eventually happen with TLF. As for the TLF ass stuff & it used to be better they said that stuff jokingly and it caught fire with their fanbase so it only made sense to go with it.The listener letters is smart because those people actually pay them money doing a weekly 5+ hour podcast is alot of work especially when they both have wives, kids and real jobs away from the podcast. They got dicked around by wrestlezone at the beginning as when the show was gaining popularity wrestlezone came to them and said they were gonna start paying them half of what they were paying them to only do the show twice a month so they left WZ and started doing the show themselves getting no money so I have no problem with them asking for money as what they do is alot of work and they deserve to get paid for that work. They’ve said many times most of what they do is shtick to entertain themselves it just 2 friends goofing around talking about pretend entertainment but they really love it so they go deep and hard.Jack’s not even a real lapsed fan as he’s admitted he still watching raw,SDL,Impact,Roh and NJPW every week and always searching for the latest wrestling news while JP hates the current stuff and will only watch it if he’s getting paid. They did a 90 minute interview explaining what they are doing with the show on Fite tv during mania weekend saying most of what they do is a gimmick to be entertaining and entertaining themselves but then they go deep with the research and the analysis because they genuinely love wrestling Jack still currently and JP back when he actually cared. Don’t get me wrong. I understand why they ask for money and do letters and the origin of “IN THAT ASS”. It’s just I’ve listened since 2015/2016. I don’t need to hear the SAME ways to work in “GIVE ME WHAT I NEEEEED” from their fans or “PUT THAT CHEDDAR ON THE TABLE” 30 times a show from them so I just skip it. I’m not really holding them at fault for it. It’s just that makes like a 3rd of the show be the same thing every week so I don’t bother listening. And they do abeoluty make up shit just to come up with phony “CUZ IT USE TO BE BETTER!1!” Instances. I heard one of them say in tthe Attitude Era there were reasons for cameras to catch thrings backstage. Bullshit. Absolute 100% bullshit. There was a f***ing camera man who was gonna record Austin getting embalmed alive on TV. But modern day wrestling is shitty cuz the “invisible camera man” is around? Just stop it..

I’m working my way through the back catalogue of this slowly but surely, and I’m just about to start the 92 Rumble episode. I don’t always agree with everything that Jack or JP say and do sometimes think that they’re their own biggest fans but the content and depth they offer is great. Lapsed Vince is always awesome, however. I have to say though, I'm really, really, really, really sick of Lapsed Vince. Every f***ing mention of the guy starts 2 minutes of the low growly voice and it just gets so f***ing old after a while, and its sad almost cause at this point I could actually imagine that senile ass actually saying those things. Lapsed Kevin Nash on the other end always entertains me to no end, even though I can definitely imagine the real guy saying just about anything the Lapsed version does. But God...the literal multiple minute long tangents of that low growly Vince voice. I literally just press the fast forward 15 seconds button until I don't hear it anymore.

I never bought him as a "genius" anyway. He more or less fluked his way into "killing WCW" by Austin and Rock rejecting the gimmicks HE wanted them have (just imagine thinking Steve Austin needed a mouth piece!) and letting them loose and be the characters they wanted to be. Granted he himself played a big role in the Austin story and was a great character on the shows too. Maybe his genius WAS the fact he let them loose but creatively speaking I'm not entirely buying it. Exactly. Vince creatively is about as far away from a genius as you could get. He's always been f***ing HORRENDOUS when it came to creative issues. If the WWF in the mid 90s ran solely on his creative vision, it would have died. Without question.

Punk would. Also, imagine if DB was cleared to return in early 2018 and was #30 in the Rumble. The reaction would have been amazing.
