Step 1) Find a 12 foot ladder Step 2) Claim its 20 feet Step 3) Fall
Atleast thats how WWE does it.

Randy when he’s on makes everyone else look like amateurs Like how many other wrestlers do the crazy unhinged thing but do the corny ass open mouth smile and pulling hair act. Edge was my favorite for years but it would make me cringe sometimes and definitely does in hindsight how his version of "intense crazy guy" was opening his eyes really wide, gritting his teeth, and pulling at his hair.

“Hey, Maryse. Great to meet you. God, your chest looks nice. Not as nice as Vince’s though. When he gets it all oiled up and makes his pecs dance...hey, you think you could do that?” ...well, you know.

One of the greatest segments in wrestling history. Just tiny details piled on top of each other that made it feel like nothing that had happened on Raw before: Barrett showing up and then that shot of Tarver alone with his mask on in the crowd and the sudden realization that this was bigger than a rookie challenging the champ. The Straight Edge Society getting wiped out at ringside first, then Barrett silently signaling the whole group to move on to Cena at once. Cena, who would eventually tank the angle, getting maybe his coolest character moment when he shrugs and tries to fight off all of The Nexus himself. The look of the absolutely destroyed ringside area, and the sound of just the crowd with the ringside crew chased off or massacred. The audience reactions themselves: the kid wailing "MR. KING!" as Lawler is covered in the overturned table and surrounding junk, and the shot of the girl in the front row in cap & gown, presumably there as a graduation present, just stunned at all the carnage and Cena getting stretchered out. And honestly, still, best of all, the moment where evil cult leader CM Punk - who had been wiped out in the initial attack - crawls back into the ring on his own to try to save Cena. Really got over the whole idea that this wasn't a heel vs. face angle, but something BIG. I've always wondered how far in advance that bit was planned, if at all, since Punk is only in the match because of a "fan poll" to face Cena, which everyone would have been expecting Rey to win. Barrett doing his quick nod and then the camera showing all the Nexus members getting up on the apron at the same time was so great. I also loved when they're all grabbing at Cena and he makes that desperate attempt at breaking free and is reaching out with his arm to no one, but gets pulled down. I remember they showed an alternate shot of that in the recap where you see the desperate terror look on his face and it was also great. It's too bad the shit Cena pulled. Barrett should have absolute won the title at Survivor Series. He was the only guy in years to actually not get cheered going up against Cena. I remember the ending I thought would have been great at Survivor Series was that since the rules stated if any Nexus member interfered, the whole group would be fired, that Cena (being a part of Nexus) could attack Orton and get the match thrown out. So he'd sacrifice himself to fulfill his promise of ending the Nexus. Instead we got that bullshit where Cena was fair, lost his job, and then was back like literally a week or two later. Also, its a good thing The Shield learned and knew when it was time to speak up backstage. They were booked so much better because of it. Of course they were much, much, much, much more talented though.

WM 7. Savage vs Warrior should have absolutely main evented. It was by far the better match and more importantly the culmination of like 4 WMs. Macho turning on Hogan set everything in motion to lead to the ending of Savage and Elizabeth reuniting. Elizabeth leaving with Macho Man would have been a fantastic ending to the show. Instead we got shitty, stale Hogan vs shitty Sgt Slaughter. Same old bullshit Hogan match. All to "end" a war that was already over. Awful.

One good thing about this, it kind of disproves the "ROMAN CANCER WAS A WORK" stuff. Unless this too is part of the long work. Taking "the guy" out of the biggest show of the year.

I mean come on... It annoyed me so much when she said "I'm no Torrie Wilson" in that vignette. That generic barbie has absolutely never even come close to looking as good as Stephanie does in that segment. And yes, fresh post implants Steph was amazing. The things she'd wear in 2001 to early 2002. So slutty looking. Then she stopped for the most part (outside of the leather wrestling attire), but thankfully got really thick. 2003 Stephanie was so amazing as well.

Look at Jericho. He has this amazing debut but then he's feuding with Road Dogg a couple weeks later. WWF/E is great at a debut of a guy. A moment in vacuum. They tend to not be so good at following up. Ugh. There's absolutely nothing that points to him being unsafe in the match. Typical Vince. It was during a suplex spot in which Angle over rotates and lands on his stomach, Taz also had a reputation from ecw that he dropped people on their head. Gerry Brisco had to talk with Taz after the royal rumble match. Well, don't I look foolish.

He handed Angle his first loss. If they had no plans for him, then why have him do that? Look at Jericho. He has this amazing debut but then he's feuding with Road Dogg a couple weeks later. WWF/E is great at a debut of a guy. A moment in vacuum. They tend to not be so good at following up. Just heard JR’s podcast and he isn’t known as a liar so here it goes, apparently there were big plans for Taz but during the match Vince soured on him and felt he was extremely unsafe. Ugh. There's absolutely nothing that points to him being unsafe in the match. Typical Vince.

It is without question the laziest booking move of all time. Nothing is worse. Nothing is more insulting to the viewers intelligence. Nothing comes remotely close. Of course if you watch the segment on YouTube you get the "ZOMG TEH ATTITODE EAR IS THE BESTORZ!!1! DIS REAL WRESLTIN!!1!1" bullshit comments. But seriously, its horrendous.

As much as I've bitched about the show in this thread, and its not a comment on the quality overall, but JPs Flair impression where he just yelled "HOGAN! WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT!" had me dying. Like near painful laughing.

Listening to older shows a lot recently. Two things make me hit the skip 30 seconds ahead button:
Nearly ANY mention of Vince leading to that f***ing droning low growly voice that makes the show slow to a crawl. I swear there’s times I’ve hit the skip button like 4-5 times and it’ll STILL be droning on.
Not as bad anymore but in the early days, the droning “BECAUSE. YOU. NEED. IT-tah.”
UGH. So annoying. Also the GIVE US MONEY portion of the show.
I think my favorite scenario/character is from a more recent show where it’s the news editor who hates wrestling and is getting fired from different agencies cause he refuse to report on wrestling, and if he does they have to make sure everyone knows it’s fake. One of the hosts was making up this scenario where the guy moves to a new town and thinks he’s escaped wrestling being reported only for a fax to come in that starts with the WWF letterhead. Had me dying.

Not WWE, but Eric Bischoff saying he did everything he could from the beginning to make WCW a product different from WWF, including making it cater to an older demographic with realistic angles.
WCW for two years under him was stale Hogan and his shitty friends doing cartoonish nonsense. Only once the nWo started did they start to do anything different from the WWF, other than Nitro being live.

If this dude dont turn soon I swear like this is even beyond Roman's forced face run at this point Heh, no. Nearly have a decade is way worse. I know people want to pretend Seth wasn't legit over as a face as recently as the start of the year, but he was. Roman never was outside of that one Philly show at the end of 2015. He still got to main event four WMs in a row as the supposed top face, and shouldn't have. It's not even close.

Diesel and HBK were before my time watching so I can’t really comment on them on a personal level. It’s in vogue to hate on Rollins right now, but he’s still capable of putting on great matches, he can deliver promos and he usually gets very strong reactions. The Fiend feud is throwing a big spanner in that, but still.. Roman’s time at the top was undoubtedly the worst push I’ve seen in WWE history. He was given material that didn’t suit him and that he couldn’t adequately deliver. His matches were repetitive, boring and poorly booked. But worst of all was that, overwhelmingly, the fans told WWE ”We don’t want this” and they kept going. For years. These weren’t reactions you could put a positive spin on, they were downright disastrous. Cena set the precedent for the babyface face of the company who some fans hated, but Cena was incredibly over with the younger fan base. Roman never had that to start with, and he never reached that despite his ridiculously strong push. The fact that they continued to push him despite the negative reaction was the strongest proof ever that WWE really doesn’t care about what the fans think or say, they’re just gonna do what they want anyway. Also, they still made him Brock’s bitch for some reason. The thing that really annoys me is this narrative of Reigns being like this maverick who doesn't believe his own bullshit unlike Rollins. Reigns was just as bad when his absolutely dreadful, horrendously forced push began 5 years ago. Of course after half a decade of being untouchable despite being the most hated "top babyface" in history and an actual wellness violation that did nothing to interrupt his four consecutive, undeserved WM main events hes going to be more easy going and willing to go against the grain a bit. If Rollins had that half a decade worth of forced push, he'd likely be more like current day Reigns in regards to his spot and attitude in the company.
