8 million people used to watch Brian Christopher and the Godfather on Monday nights. 3 million watch your so called Indy darlings on Monday nights now. But let's call this a new golden age for sports entertainment. The same 3 million that watch John Cena? Yep. More people watched Crash Holly as hardcore champion than have ever watched John Cena as WWE champion.

Well it was WCW so he probably got paid more than he should have. But probably not much, he had a short run in 1992 in a tag team with Terrance Taylor, then popped up here and there to do jobs for guys like the Giant. Nothing of any substance.

Bret was in two of the greatest Mania matches of all time (12 and 13) and two of the worst (11 and 26).

I wouldn't say Macho, he had his matches and feuds with Warrior, Roberts, and Flair to name a few after he switched attires. I'd say Macho, but for his mid life crisis leather outfit in WCW.

I don't see a guy on Valentine's level, even though he was there for ages, making more money than Ronda; especially not significant money. Not when she's one of, if not THE top draw in her sport right now and then you factor in sponsorship deals, endorsements the movie appearances and the like. That's no knock on Greg either, I just don't see any way that he blows her away financially on any level. I'll concede I don't have access to their respective earnings to prove that one way or another; but just from a logic standpoint it seems to make sense that that's not true. If there are numbers somewhere, I'd be happy to say I'm mistaken. That aside, eh, it's sort of a misguided opinion; but it's not hard to see why a dude from that era would have it. Plus, he has just enough hyperbole in what he's saying that it seems like he was playing for laughs anyway. Just these days, most UFC fighters don't make near what wrestlers from the WWE makes. And even the top UFC guys don't make near that. Even Rousey with all her endorsements. I think it was George St. Pierre two years ago revealed how he was making and I was surprised how little it was. Still he was happy cause for him it was big money. But it was about what the middle WWE stars are making. Now picture Greg in the WWF machine with Hulkamania running wild in the 80s, the WWF guys were making tons of money. It was unreal money. Now I don't know what he did with it but understand that Greg pretty much vanished from wrestling post the 80s. He didn't go to WCW, he never did much in the WWE afterwards. So it makes sense that he lost most of it. Greg had several short runs in WCW throughout the 90's.

Lex Luger and Yokozuna say hello. Oh darn I forgot about Yoko...lex never beat Bret. Luger beat Bret at Havoc 1999. Strangely enough, Lex has beat both Hogan and Bret by submission. Piper can be added to the list as well.
