I really don't think they will do Ospreay vs Swerve at Wembley and have Ospreay win. Like that is far too short of a run by AEW standards. And it'll end with 60k stadium booing him and cheering on his opponent. That's not best optics for this Swerve run IMO. Especially if only a 4 month run I'd probably give Ospreay Okada instead, if you want him winning a title at that show.

Father of the Year Christian Cage. He needs something different from Copeland, and I'd say he has earned a main event run against World champ Swerve, and seems like a nice month long program until Hangman comes back and they can have their blowoff in like a dog collar match or something. I would greatly veto that idea, considering the horrible racial stereotype of blackmen not having father figures. This feels like a big can of Nope. I kind of figure after Christian's match where he got kicked in the dick like a billion times that maybe they can tone down the Father thing with Christian for now, anyway. That kind of reached its logical conclusion.

I think it's safe to say we've finally gotten there I'm glad Swerve was the first, especially when he declared he'd be the first. Planted the seed, and paid it off, really good shit It is getting there The women has never been the problem in that regard, it has been the men. Swerve is champ but I am hoping he isn't the only champ or put into this spot for next years For sure. Granted, Okada is probably a "when", not "if", so that's also a good thing for the main event scene racial makeup, too, but this is the sort of thing where you never want to rest on your laurels.

I am not unsympathetic to the fact the guy has got to be in a rough place mentally, but I do really hope he gets an extended sabbatical and stops trying to work this shit out in front of us, because the results are extremely cringe.

It's a matter of relativity. Watching Bluey with some nieces you're babysitting is a whole lot less grating than Cocomelon or the like. There's some nuance and substance to it, and it isn't mind-meltingly repetitious. I wouldn't watch it on my own, really, but in the context of something you can have on with very young children, it's way above average.

I imagine that there are a number of reasons she is getting time away, but that some of it is to let Thunder Rosa get some shine without the elephant in the room that is their beef. I feel like that's probably going to a head eventually, but right now, it'd be a distraction.

I don't think anyone is saying Rossy is a monster on the same level as Vince McMahon, but god, Japanese idol culture is so gross. I don't think you'll find anyone who disagrees with that, but people are disagreeing with Omega making much darker claims than just "Japanese Idol Culture" either, and refusing to elaborate. While there are significantly more women willing to vouch for Rossy, while no one has made any negative remarks about him. The closest thing to a negative remark I've seen regarding him from a former STARDOM wrestler was Kris Wolf, who said he was 100% in it for the business, but she still likes him anyways, enough to go out to Japan to visit him. --- In non Rossy news, Giulia seems to be the head trainer for Marigold. She led the first training session this morning: www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/299705?page=1I understand people being frustrated or upset, but as much as I get the dislike for cryptic comments, I'd dislike more if he told others' stories without their explicit permission to do so, especially because even had he remained vague, it'd likely bring heat on the women if people could parse details or ones who would be collateral damage due to mistaken identity. This sucks, but it's a really bad position to be put in. For me, I know a very popular wrestler was macking on 17 year olds well into his twenties and creeping them out, but I can't really get even an iota more specific than that, so I just have to keep my mouth shut. It gets difficult, though, just as I am sure it's a shitty position to be put in for Kenny Omega when he tends to love to shout out all the cool stuff happening with joshi wrestling, and he's thus going to get asked about all of this.

Larry Nassar was very well liked by a lot of gymnasts for being so nice and bringing them treats and such when everyone else was very spartan about training.
I'm sorry, but such character defenses do literally nothing to dissolve what Kenny said. It's unfortunately a reality of life.

So, we're just not even giving Katana a chance? Katana Chance is a stupid name, that's my point here. These are the jokes, folks. I guess it's a better name than her cousin, Wakizashi Serendipity.

I really think it’s gonna be Nia. I doubt it's gonna be Nia, because then you have to find a woman to beat Nia, who in turn can drop the title to Liv for the inevitable Rhea/Liv feud. Because I doubt they are gonna go Nia -> Liv, especially with Liv apparently being a heel now. I feel like they could do a heel vs heel here, if the idea would be "Nia wins, then Liv beats her so she's not seen as being given the belt just for hurting Rhea." It'd be better if Liv just outright won the thing, but I could see the reasoning if they felt like it'd increase Liv's credibility. I think she's credible as it is, but I'd be able to see the logic in it.

Probably commentary on like, Metal or something. I don't think his ceiling was going to be high.
I think maybe a bigger What-If, though, is that if they did find something for him, if that'd have contributed to Booker getting the King Booker-strength push sooner. A big mark against Booker for years was that he was frustrated with road life and openly considering retirement from practically the word jump in WWE, and this was said to be the bigger factor in why WWE wouldn't pull the trigger with him, being concerned that he'd bail on them. (Not entirely unfounded, given Brock would do the same when he became unhappy.)
What is said to have changed things was Sharmell. He suddenly became reinvigorated and much more willing to commit to sticking around, as traveling with her reduced his loneliness presumably and road weariness.
All of this is to say, if Booker's brother was around, maybe he'd have been less of a malcontent and thus things like the Triple H feud maybe don't play out in the same way.

I don't get why Athletic Commissions have anything to do with Professional Wrestling anymore. It's that simple! I understand why they want to ($$$) but it makes ZERO sense. I was listening to an old timey wrestler dude (he's banned on here but I swear I have a point to this post) and he was talking about how even in the 80's/90's, he had no idea what the f*** the commission actually does beside take some money, lazily make sure folks have a pulse before entering the ring, and just generally being a nuisance. Seems to be pretty universal disdain for these governing bodies. Cornette has intimated that part of it was to help territories maintain their monopoly on certain, well, territories for their mutual benefit, since obviously the cities and states made more money if business stayed strong, and shittily run shows by fly-by promoters could damage a town's interest in wrestling. More modernly, I think it was Lance Storm who conjectured that it's mostly just to collect fees and to be able to pull a license if someone does something egregious.

Christian would work.
Hangman really doesn't need to be facing Swerve until such time he beats him.

A lot of stuff comes down to his lack of taste, but Zelina Vega being cut from the 9/11 show because of shit time management is easily in top 10 contention for outright dumbest booking decision. Even Vince himself was mortified and, according to Zelina, profusely apologized, and this came before she got the Queen of the Ring and tag belts, probably as a "uhh whoops". Not that either of those things undo how indefensibly stupid that was, granted....

Richard Steven Horvitz, but that's mostly becuase his voice is pretty unique. Some of this is just flat out down to people that hire the voice actors wanting the same as they've done. Hamil for instance has done a bunch of voices that do not sound like the Joker, like when he's the Trickster he's basically using his own voice, and his Solomon Grundy and Swamp thing voices are different than the others as well. Blum did Starscream in a transformers that was nothing like his Spike voice... but people hire Steve Blum to be Steve Blum. Skips from Regular Show is definitely another time Mark was deviating from the Joker stuff.

I think my personal spite move in with all of this would be to do some women's tournament where you have Nyla and some other available trans woman make it to the finals, taking place in Oklahoma, and then announce in advance you're donating the gate from the show to a trans charity. Kind of technically following their stupid bigoted-ass directive while doing everything you can to tell them to f*** themselves in regards to it. Nyla vs VENY would be a pretty rad final, or Abadon, but I am sure the latter would just result in Oklahoma misgendering them, naturally.

Off the top of my head, Jamie Senegal (Daffney's daughter) and Edith Surreal (the former Still Life with Apricots and Pears) Kidd Bandit would be another that actually had wrestled in AEW repeatedly VENY is another trans wrestler who has wrestled for AEW, albeit for the Japanese tournament Hikaru Shida put together that brought Ryo over. She has teamed with Nyla before in Japanese shows and tweeted in support of her during this. She's basically one of the top freelance joshi wrestlers, anyway, so I'd certainly love to see her pop up in AEW stateside, regardless.

He was a utility guy. I liked him fine, and there is always going to be a spot for guys like that, but he was never a big favorite of mine or anything.
