LATEST STUPID RUMOR TO SHOOT DOWN by Mike Johnson @ 8:27 PM on 8/6/2012
This seems to be the day for stupid rumors making the rounds. The latest is that Brock Lesnar and Ryback got into a physical confrontation at Raw this afternoon during a rehearsal for Lesnar's segment tonight. According to numerous sources backstage at Raw, nothing of the sort happened. There was no confrontation, verbal, physical or otherwise between the two Nothing to see here.
We normally don't bother to shoot down ridiculous stories but given the amount of email we were getting, I felt best to address it and kill the story rather than continue to let it get out of hand.

See, I'd actually agree, in a way. While the stories involve violence, compare it to boxing or even MMA. In those, the aim is to beat your opponent until he's too injured to get up. It thrives on violence and pain. In pro wrestling, the aim is to make your opponent look like he's been beat up, while trying to remain as safe as possible. For me, that's an important distinction, and the one that makes me watch wrestling but not the more violent forms of media. I wouldn't say that's the goal of MMA is simply to beat your opponent until they're too injured to get up. In some cases it might be, but that's awfully simplistic. You can try to win by submission. A submission victory can be relatively painless, unless the person is an idiot and decides not to tap out. Or there are people who fight strategic "points" fights where it's clear they're not trying to finish their opponent- using their wrestling to control them for three rounds, for example.

I always assumed he's right there at the end because he makes a believable near winner as the "ladder match specialist". His TLC experience and stuff makes him perfect to slot in as a "favorite" . Sort of the ladder match equivalent of the big man who's a "favorite" in the battle royal, but really doesn't stand a chance of winning.

No, the show is going to be a huge outlier compared to their regular week to week programming. I can't use a show that's being loaded up with a bunch of names as a giant spectacle to judge whether I want to keep watching the company's standard fare.

Eh. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who are on stuff they have prescriptions for. Whether they have legit reasons, or just found a mark doctor. As long as they're not dumb enough to get suspended, it seems like a non-story to me.

Why would Christian get buried for appearing on TNA? Didn't WWE have to ask him to go along with it, so they could get the Flair deal done? Wrong thread? LOL Nope. Check reply #3.

Someone else who subscribes to F4W can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a lot of Meltzer's rating at the time was based off the atmosphere and how momentous he thought the match was in that moment in time. But with the way the aftermath with Punk played out, it changed his opinion some. I could be totally misremembering though, so if I am, someone can feel free to correct me.

Why did they break down CM Punk's segment into so many parts last week? And then always the little comments about even when he brings in viewers, it's lower than average. Idk if it's just me looking too into things, but it seems that whoever writes these things is trying hard to paint Punk as rating's poison. Meltzer writes them, and I don't think he has any anti-Punk agenda. Listening to his audio content, and his overall reviews of Punk's work, I get the impression he's a fan.

So, that site actually treats the Enquirer as a legit magazine/source of news?
