Mourinho gone from Roma. About time their board grew a spine. Woefully underachieved with the talent at his disposal. My only issue is some of the people in my fanbase that seem to think Mourinho is an improvement on Eddie Howe, in 2024. Not looking forward to some of those debates with people who work on name value alone…

It’s a gimmick that’s always gonna get over with their hardcore base that were turned off other promotions by an overt amount of sports entertainment. But it’s not like AEW doesn’t produce its fair share of sports entertainment anyway so that’s there for all the people who enjoy it. Honestly unless this is a joke that I’m completely missing it feels that maybe you’re taking these things way too much to heart. It’s not that serious… It’s mostly in jest, just wanted to have some fun. My apologies. My inability to guage sarcasm in textual form strikes again!

Male Wrestler of the Year: Bryan Danielson (Hon. Mentions to Orange, Swerve and MJF) Female Wrestler of the Year: Jamie Hayter (don’t know whether this shows how good she was for the first 5 months or an indictment of how poorly everyone in the division has been handled in her absence but she achieved more in 5 months than everyone else managed all year. Toni and Shida close seconds principally for how good they’ve been in the second half of the year) Tag Team of the Year: FTR (this was a lock for most of the year but things really slowed down for them after that but they still ended the year as comfortably the best imo) Most Improved Wrestler/Team: I really wanted to give this to The Gunns because they’ve come on so much this year but the answer has to be Julia Hart Young Wrestler of the Year: (27 and Under) MJF Veteran of the Year: (45 and Above) Christian Cage New Signing of the Year: (Oct '22 onwards) Jay White (Nigel as a damn close second) Male Match of the Year: Dragon/MJF (Ironman) Female Match of the Year: The #1 contenders match from Jan or Feb on Rampage between Jamie Hayter and EMI Sakura, f***ing slapped. Show of the Year: Revolution arguably deserves this because on paper it was the best show any promotion has ran this year but I was there live in Wembley for All In and I honestly can’t say anything other than that for the insane experience it was

The best thing she ever did was when she did the Batista Bomb on Bayley and Alexa because Batista flirted with her Wait, what? Context please?

Only in wrestling could you find people surprised (and even more incredulously, annoyed) that the bad guy cheated. Christ.
That aside, came into say, what a f***ing match. Swerve is unreal, Hanger too don’t get me wrong but man Swerve is just on fire right now. Get a belt on that man asap TK.

I think we’re passed that point now. If the outcome of this investigation is not the termination of Punk’s contract then Tony really has no spine. Tony firing Punk would be a huge mistake! You’re kidding right? They’ve just had their biggest show of all time that was almost universally well received but nobody has talked about it because everyone is focused on the backstage drama that involves CM Punk. And this isn’t exactly the first time backstage drama involving Punk has been the main focus of everyone’s attention rather than the actual product. Even if he was a Hogan level draw (spoiler alert: he isn’t), he still wouldn’t be worth keeping around because what he brings you as a draw he always overshadows anyway with bullshit involving him. From a pure risk/reward perspective he has proven beyond all doubt that the reward of having him around does not come close to the risk of having him around. Just get rid of the guy before he does more harm.

Both of them should be suspended for 30 days. I think we’re passed that point now. If the outcome of this investigation is not the termination of Punk’s contract then Tony really has no spine.

Getting 81K into an arena probably took some time, that and people likely not always in their seats But 81K sold seemed to be the number From a friend who was there and has no reason to not be reliable, he said not a chance they broke the record, that there were lots of empty seats all around and one large section was barely any in it, less than a quarter full. Which honestly I think is likely true- the stadium panoramas literally never showed the hardcam side, which is usually an indicator of tarps/gaps- WWE do the same thing a lot of the time, I forget which Summerslam it was that fan photos showed huge gaps on the hardcam side. As someone who was there I’m going to have to disagree heavily with that. There was no section that was anywhere near only a quarter full. Also Wembley holds 90k for football matches and yes they lost an entire tier behind where the hardcam was situated but the floor seats made up for that and then some. I’m not sure what it was set up for in the end cos I know they were releasing new sections for sale as late as last week. But if I had to guesstimate id say about 95k if they’d sold every seat that wasn’t blacked out due to set up. And from where I was sat I could believe there was somewhere in the region of 14k empty seats. It looked closer to 10k to me but maybe I just underestimated slightly. But I’d be genuinely shocked if it came out that there was less than the announced figure in that stadium on Sunday night.

Well that was a blast. View was better than I was expecting from the top tier but you do have to watch some of it on screens. Could have done with one showing the entrances from TV. I can't believe the turnaround from rolling my eyes at MJF being so boringly try hard earlier in the year to being the most over face. That main event was just a perfectly executed rollercoaster. Looking at the clips it doesn't sound like the volume came out on TV throughout, trying to find a good vid of MJF's theme being sung by the crowd, this will do Joe Vs Punk was also hot with a very split crowd which seemed to go more towards Joe as it went on. Had to suppress myself from laughing at some Punk fans on the tube saying it was just online hate. Wheeler's gotta gun was my favourite chant. Some of the multimen weren't so good live, Stadium stampede in particular was hard to follow but even that had Sue, skewers and the place going mad for Eddie. Could have also done with the pre show filling some gaps. I think it’s partially the fact that stadium noise always sounds louder in the building than on television and partially the fact that people were doing different things. In that video people are chanting “Der der der der der der” in our section we were chanting “Better than, better than, better than, better than you”. Different noises always then leads to everything becoming a bit more muffled. It’s really interesting hearing how different parts of the stadium felt the split was during Punk/Joe cos where I was we could hear the pop for Punk when Cult played but other than that it was like 95/5 in favour of Joe. My mate was cheering Punk on and at one point he turned round to me and said “Am I literally the only person in here cheering for Punk?” But then a different friend of mine who went with his partner and their two bairns said their section was solidly 70/30 Punk fans.

Apologies, and feel free to remove mods, if this falls too far off topic but have we got anyone here that is local to London (more specifically Wembley) or just knows the area really well? Heading down tomorrow morning and will be heading pretty much straight to Wembley once we’ve booked into the hotel but we were planning on going out for drinks and making a night of it after the show. Just wondering if anybody has any recommendations (bonus points for any rock bars/rock nights at nightclubs as that’s more our scene)?

Even ignoring for a second that they're managed by Unai Emery who basically owns the trophy Villa must be one of the favorites to win the EL this season when you look at their squad. It was only a year or two ago that players like Pau Torres/Diego Carlos/Alex Moreno/Diaby/Kamara/Tielemans/Zaniolo would be linked with top CL level teams now the finances in the PL are such that even a generally mid-table side in Villa have been able to assemble them. They’re in the Conference League, not the Europa League.

Toone drills one in and England take a 1-0 lead. Phenomenal build up and then finish from Toone. Very tough 45 mins ahead for England though.

If you didn't like Jerishow, or Steenerico, I don't know what to tell you. Yeah, I really hate those. Hating Steenerico as a name should be punishable in the Hague

With the PL season starting in two days I thought it high time I bless you all with my super accurate predictions (I’m lying, I’m absolutely appalling at these but hey, it’s a bit of fun):
1. Manchester City 2. Liverpool 3. Arsenal 4. Manchester United 5. Chelsea 6. Newcastle United 7. Aston Villa 8. Tottenham Hotspur 9. Brighton & Hove Albion 10. West Ham United 11. Brentford 12. Burnley 13. Crystal Palace 14. Everton 15. Fulham 16. Nottingham Forest 17. Bournemouth 18. Sheffield United 19. Wolverhampton Wanderers 20. Luton Town
FA Cup: Chelsea League Cup: Tottenham Hotspur Champions League: Real Madrid Serie A: Lazio (hope I’m wrong on this one) La Liga: Barcelona Bundesliga: Bayern Munich Ligue 1: PSG
