The most ridiculous answer to this question is simply “Yes”.

I couldn’t believe that when I was checking the scores on cricinfo after work today. Those last few overs must have been crazy and Robson must have been gutted with those last 2 overs as 14 from 12 will have felt nailed on I’m sure. I’m a Durham fan and was day off yesterday with the missus at work so took myself down to the Riverside and watch us open the day still batting ih our first innings and end the day successfully chasing down the target at the end. Honestly didn’t think I’d see a finish at the start of the play but it was a great day of cricket and we look to pretty much have sealed promotion back to Div 1 already. It was a really peculiar chase, Robson looked very nervy before lunch and almost ran himself out at the non-striker's at one point, and even though he ended up with a pretty well-made ton, it wasn't what you wanted as the required rate started creeping up above six or seven. Really the entire chase hinged on some poor fielding and a twenty minute Toby Roland-Jones cameo. A win would've made survival much more likely, not that we really deserve it, but now it's going to depend on Kent as much as anything. Surrey next week too.
Promotion looks a certainty for Durham though, it's the best attack in D2 and should frankly never have been relegated. It's funny to see Sussex and in particular Leicestershire pushing for promotion too after both had such a wretched 2022, or in Leicestershire's case a pretty miserable past decade.
Yeah, I hope you guys stay up but with the way the season has gone it’s looking tough. Must have been such a bizarre day of cricket. That’s the beauty of the game though. What other sport can you play for four days and go into the final over with all 3 results (theoretically, a Northants win was obv incredibly unlikely at that point) still possible. Yeah our pace attack is incredible. Batting line up has killed it this year too with Lees, Bedingham (although we likely lose him for next season) and Clark all looking great. Ollie Robinson (WK variation) has been a phenomenal signing too. Excited for the future after a decade of shite haha.

Are there any other followers of the County Championship? It's been a funny old round this week, but I was fortunate enough to see a very silly yet utterly enthralling day of cricket at Northwood today between Middlesex and Northamptonshire, that ended in a tied score draw. I couldn’t believe that when I was checking the scores on cricinfo after work today. Those last few overs must have been crazy and Robson must have been gutted with those last 2 overs as 14 from 12 will have felt nailed on I’m sure. They haven't, but Ospreay mentioned doing a third and said he had the ideal place for it (or words to that effect) It sounded like he meant something more special than just a regular PPV venue. That was the hint I meant, I took an English guy saying he knew a place to mean Wembley haha I 100% think that’s what Ospreay was alluding to it and doing it in a “Please NJPW/AEW make this happen”

Honestly ROH era Joe was a huge part of me maintaining my love of wrestling so maybe that colours my view somewhat but ROH Joe >>>>> TNA Joe.

Austin Aries vs Samoa Joe from Slammiversary 2012. I’ve no idea why, it’s a good match don’t get me wrong but wouldn’t crack probably top 500 matches of all time for me. But anytime a non wrestling fan has shown any interest in the past decade or so since that match happened it has automatically sprung to mind. Has about an 80% track record of converting them into fans as well.

Nah. Pretend it's normal if you want, anyone who knows anything about Weimar Germany recognizes the parallels. Grown ass man daydreaming on Twitter about fake indoctrination classes. Wbat a loser. Can you post the exact quotes from Kevin Kelly that make him a literal Nazi? This is veering very close to the types of things we’re not allowed to talk about here but a) he said “3/4ths of the way to being a Nazi” not “literal Nazi” as you’ve now attributed to him and then b) made a very valid point with regards to how actions and beliefs in the Weimar Republic led to the type of fervent support Hitler and the Third Reich ended up holding. So being this level of patronising isn’t entirely fair here.

I honestly sometimes feel like I’m watching a different show to everyone else. I was where the OP is now between All Out and Full Gear last year. I felt the show was lifeless, directionless and honestly a bit of a slog to get through most weeks. But ever since Full Gear I honestly think the shows have been phenomenal. Probs my favourite run in company history. DoN wasn’t as great as most AEW PPVs but I still thought it was really good and booking wise I think they got everything right personally. Wrestling is subjective but I’m just surprised how far I seen to be from the general sentiment of FAN regarding this.

Honestly this was so hard to get down to 5. There’s about 10 people I feel bad about leaving out.

Maybe I’m biased because Nigel is top 3 all time for me but I really think, and hope, he surprises the naysayers in this thread. I think he’ll get one of the pops of the night.
In news I’m less happy about, it looks like Ospreay is confirmed for All In.

Let me just preface this by saying I credit AEW with saving my wrestling fandom and I’ve never rooted for a company like I do this one. Even more than 2005 me rooted for ROH. But for the first time ever my over riding feeling is f*** this company. So depressing.

Today I’ve:
- Lost my voice - Been on the drink since 430ish even though I’m in work at 6 so had planned to come straight home after the match… - Just got home even though, as previously mentioned, I’m in work at 6 (alarm is on for 430) - Spent £50 more than planned - Twisted my ankle falling 2 rows in front of where I started
But being 5-0 up 20 minutes into a must win game will do that to ya. Love this club. Howay the lads.

Not downplaying if he does win back to back European trophies but amongst a lot of people who are regular Serie A watchers Roma were the closest thing to a consensus pick for the Scudetto this season. Dybala was seen to be the final piece of the puzzle so being 4th behind a Jekyll and Hyde Juventus team, an impressive but overachieving Lazio and a Napoli team people expected to be good but not expecting the star making explosion of Osimhen and Kvaradona is not the achievement it may seem from the outside. Like I say winning the EL after winning the Conference League last year would be incredible and will definitely mean he’s safe from the sack but I definitely think any interest from the PL or La Liga is highly unlikely. Were people really predicting Roma to win the league after finishing 6th and over 20 points off the top last season then having a negative net spend of like £50m this season? At the beginning of the season 538 had them predicted to finish 5th with a 7% chance of winning the league and a 37% chance of qualifying for the CL which sounds more right. Their first 11 is fine but they have no squad depth to properly cope with injuries and a potential 60 game season and had little money to spend. On paper Juventus, Inter, Milan, Napoli and maybe even Lazio and Atalanta all had stronger squads. Obviously we didn't know at the time how badly some of those would underperform though. It's kinda crazy actually that Italy have 5 teams left in Europe at the semi-final point which is the best they've done in years yet none of them are even top 2 in the league. Last season was seen as a disappointment and one unlikely to be repeated or tolerated. The net spend is a bit misleading too when the only players that actually played a significant part in their season last year that departed were Mkhitaryan and Zaniolo. Meanwhile they brought in Dybala (who automatically became their best player), Nemanja Matic (who solved their midfield solidity issue on paper) and Andrea Belotti (one of the most consistent scorers in Serie A scorers for the past 6+ seasons) all on a free. They also brought Gini Wijnaldum in on loan which was seen as a massive coup. So yes net spend wise it looks bad but they actually massively improved their starting XI with a minor (but in fairness to your point still noticeable) downgrade in their backups. I do however wholeheartedly disagree with the notion that they have a weaker squad than all those teams mentioned, specifically Atalanta which seems mad to me that anyone could ever have argued that point with a straight face (and I say that as someone who likes Atalanta and actually predicted them to win Serie A last season). In English speaking media, where coverage of Serie A is puddle deep at best, they may not have given Roma much of a chance. But across the continent and specifically in Italy, while there was no outright consensus pick from the public or the pundit class. Roma were the team I saw touted more than any other. But everyone was quite split because the top 6 were seen as fairly close together and Roma were just seen as the favourites to a plurality of pundits/Italians but not quite a full working majority. Curious as to where the 7% you referenced was taken from? Either way, as someone who follows the Serie A very closely I personally think Roma have been a massive disappointment this season, at least domestically (it’s not personal, I’m a Fiorentina fan who actually kind of has a soft spot for Roma for finally getting Batigol his Scudetto back in the day).

If Jose gets Roma top 4 and back to back European trophies that would be a hell of a job and I can see the richer clubs in England/Spain sniffing around him again and thinking okay maybe he's not past it. I'd like to see him stay at Roma though with a little more backing in the transfer market. I'm not sure if that's possible though. I don't think there's a lot of money going around Serie A these days.
