Didn't Russo get fired? Only to get rehired later? If that happened in 2000, then the part where Russo was fired would be positive in my eyes. Russo wasn't fired in the technical sense. Kevin Sullivan and J.J. Dillon basically made a power play against he and Ferrera on Souled Out weekend. After Bret Hart, the world champ and number one heel in the company, and Jarrett, the U.S. champ, both dropped out of the show due to concussions (and while it wasn't known at the time, Hart would never wrestle again), Russo/Ferrera had to scrap the entire show. They proposed the Tank Abbott thing, and Sullivan/Dillon, who had been angling against them from the start, successfully convinced the guy in charge at the time (forgot his name, but he was an accountant, not a wrestling mind) to strip Russo and Ferrera of their control and institute a booking team. Russo walked away, while Ferrera stuck around (continuing to play Oklahoma. This set off the chain reaction that led to Benoit, Malenko, Saturn, and Guerrero going to the WWF, and gave way to three months of dreadfully boring, dreary shows. That mess definitely wasn't a positive. It was probably the final nail in the coffin in many fans eyes, as interest and momentum was lost after those initial red hot shows of the nWo 2000 storyline. When Bischoff and Russo came back in April, there had already been one too many extreme shifts in direction in the last six months. As I said, I just like seeing Russo humiliated.

I'd never seen that Russo-Booker cage match with the Goldberg finish before.
I really enjoyed it. Is that wrong?
