Because he was back for less than 24 hours and he ALREADY had a title match booked for No Way Out.

There's a large group of people that watch wrestling, not because they're fans who enjoy the product, but because they're douche bags who enjoy complaining. Unfortunately a lot of these people are here on this board. The best thing to do is just ignore them. I, for one, am no douche bag. I just don't like em. I don't hate em, but I don't like em, so I boo. I'm a fan, I can cheer for whoever I please, deal with it. Did I mention you by name? If you boo Cena, fine, that's your prerogative. I'm referring to the people who bitch about damn near everything in wrestling yet continue to watch it, week in, week out. And yes there are people like that here.

But ya the people like that seriously need to lighten up about wrestling.

Cena is booed partially out of jealousy from the male audience. Cena is everything they wish they were and are not; handsome, charming, witty, and not the least of all, a good, decent human being.
This is why the 16-35 year old male demographic makes up the vast majority of the Cena haters. I would say 8 out of every 10 16-35 year old male wrestling fan hates Cena, whereas only 1 out of every 10 non-16-35 year old male wrestling fan hates him.
I'm one of the rare 16-35 year old males who actually likes Cena. He's a cool guy in real life, and one hell of a performer both in the ring and on the mic. What's not to like?

Here's why I'm "already" complaining:
1) The second Cena's music hit, you knew who was winning the rumble. There were 8 or so people in the ring, and you knew the other 7 didn't matter.
2) A push for someone who would have greatly freshened up the main event scene and is insanely over was brought to an abrupt end. Hardy went immediately from "Fresh new main eventer" to "Elimination Chamber Cannon Fodder".
3) He has only been back for 24 hours, and the "Superman" push has resumed. His character has not changed one bit.
That's why I'm complaining. Because we're back to the same-old, same-old. Cena needed to be eliminated from the rumble. He needed to turn heel. He needed to do SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

He's like the blond haired jock with all the girlfriends from any old high school movie who rivaled the protagonist.
So disgustingly prefect you just wanna see him smashed and eat crow.

Congrats, your not a fan, yet you give him ammo to continue to parlay his popularity with his target audience, who by the way, are not us. If you really aren't a fan, don't react. Can we stop with the holier than thou art crap? Nope, cause I'm on a roll. It sickens me to read complaints about "that wasn't a surprise at all" or "why is the crowd cheering this" Get a grip people, the crowd isn't supposed to conform to anybody's standards but their own, and if you think you have a right to impugn upon that, well then you've surrendered your own. I refuse to back down from my stance because I am tired of everyone who takes things so seriously (getting mad over crowd reactions or a surprise not being their expectation) and then telling me I'm the one being serious. Oh, and enough with the smark logic "I boo him as a heel" indeed. It doesn't suddenly make him a heel, except in your own mind. And that's fine Just don't tell me that's how it really is and don't tell me how to feel.

Since this is directed at me obviously... I never said he was a TRUE heel, rather I just like treating him as such. I'm glad you find that acceptable but at no point have I fit into a single one of these generalizations you've mentioned in this thread.

LOL Oooookay, so you're buying into WWE's theory that "OMGZ MALES ARE BOOING CENA CAUSE THEY ARE TEH JEALOUZ!!1!1" Seriously, that's a lame excuse if I ever heard it. If fans would be jealous of anyone it would be guys like The Rock, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels. Yet besides The Rock, you would never heard babyface Flair and HBK get those kind of reactions back in the day.

I think you're reading a bit far into it just for someone choosing to boo someone they dislike. Seriously. I just am tired of Superman. Because Superman sucks and is boring. WHO IS THIS... SUPERMAN?? Seriously, I think I (as General Zod, Ruler of Planet Houston) speak for all of my minions when I say that we are all tired of John Cena. This "Super-Man" is nothing of the kind. I was rather enjoying his time spent in banishement to the Phantom Zone. Next time it will be forever!! I swear it!!

Hey, man! What's up? The kneeling and subordination could be going better, but I have a feeling that business will pick up here in a month or so. Not a lot of internet time these days. But I still come by and check on y'all, even if I don't force you to take my hand and swear eternal loyalty.

I was glad Cena was gone because I was able to actually enjoy the opening segment and closing segment of Raw for a couple of months. Now that the show is going to start and finish with his music again, I'm back to only finding a couple of matches on the under card interesting again.

I'm wondering if Cena never got injured if he'd still be champion now. Maybe WWE wants to put the belt back on him ASAP and continue as if this injury never happened.
People boo Cena because they don't like him, heat is heat. It's not an X-pac type of boo like "Ugh.. get this boring guy off my TV" it's heat, not manufactured heat but heat from people who generally don't dig the John Cena character. He's super over in a very unique way and if we actually have a guy at the top of the card in WWE now then more power to them.

So, on a board where people have bitched and moaned even about wrestlers who yet had to appear on TV (and NEVER DID), am I not allowed to complain about Cena pulling a bigger Hogan than the Hulkster himself has ever pulled?
Cena's the surprise entrant of the Rumble, wins it to nobody's surprise, and the night after it he's already getting a Title Shot at the upcoming PPV, and proceeds to deliver an FU to the Champion and rival. Oh, and let's not forget he was back 6 months earlier than expected! MORE ODDS OVERCOME!!!
So, if I was enjoying the more "open" main event picture and I wasn't missing SuperCena, can I please, oh pretty please, voice my disappointment?
This has NOTHING to do with envy or with wanting to be like Cena. I'm sure he's a nice guy and he did bust his ass to come back and he deserves his Top Spot. That doesn't mean I have to enjoy him...

What do you mean ALREADY, it's not like Cena was incredibly popular over here before his injury and we just suddenly turned on him. What I mean is that Cena came back a few days ago. I wish people actually waited for him to, you know... DO something before they start bashing again.

Triple H kinda pulled the same thing a few years back. He wasn't a suprise entrant but he came back said he was going to be in the Rumble... won the Rumble went to WM and won the title. It's not without precident.
