I blame the writers who thinkl children cant handle perhaps slightly more adult orientated content.....it seemed to work in the 90's but as ive observed before vince has used the delorean to take us back to the 80's.

I'd like to think that it should be for everyone, but I do believe that WWE almost caters too much to kids. I feel like a lot of the edge has been taken out of the WWE. I realized this when I went to WWECW for the second show, and no one left. Despite the fact that it was a school night and it was way past 11 when the show ended.
Oh, and technically, these kids aren't the ones making 60 grand a year. Their parents are. That's where the money's coming from, really.

One time that a kid ruined something.
No Way Out 06, Taker vs Angle. This brat kid keeps on screaming "UNDERTAKER!". This brat kid happens to be right on the front row so all I hear while watching the match is "UNDERTAKER!" "UNDERTAKER!" It wasn't even in rhythm.
Take Super Dragon Fan and multiply him by 7000. Yeah, that bad.

that's exactly why they market towards children, children asks their parents to buy tickets so they are buying 2 instead of just one, they ask for the merchandise.
that's why children are marketed to, the parents' income
super dragon fan is worse because he's an adult doing it, without even trying to be ironic

Really easy question:
Who do you think they care more about:
Joe Smark, who hates everything and spends the night picking the show apart
Or
Little Billy, who goes crazy cheering his heros, and will have his father buy him a Cena shirt, toy spinner belt and DX hat.
I said it before, Id rather spend the show sitting near some cheering mark kids than the guys in their 30's whining about pushes and backstage heat

I love setting with kids as I turn into a mark myself. It is much more fun than being biased against Batista because he got Ariel fired or something along the lines.

I worked at a Spencer's Gifts over the holidays and always loved it when little kids came in and asked about our WWE stuff and would get into conversations with me about different wrestlers. They're so much fun to talk to because they're just so into it, like I once was. One kid was just ecstatic that I found a certain Cena shirt in his size, and asked me if I liked Cena. I told him I was more of an MVP sort of guy. He said "No way! MVP is a jerk! Matt's gonna beat him on Sunday!" I said "we'll see!" and felt like I was seven again. So, yeah. Kids rule. Edit: I just remembered, we also agreed that MVP may be a "jerk", but Orton's a way bigger one

I find some kids annoying, but as a lot I find them to be quite entertaining as miniature wrestling fans. There was a kid sitting behind me at a show about a year and a half ago, looked about 6, and he was booing Jimmy Wang Yang. I turned and told him Jimmy was the good guy and Sylvan was a jerk, and he said "Oh man, I didn't know!". As soon as I flipped around, the kid starts chanting "Let's go Yang Wang!" and clapping in between. I thought it was hilarious.

they can get more money out of kids the adults who pay for the kids, so they cater more to them. for instance, if they catered cena to you or me, they could sell a t-shirt, a baseball cap and a dvd. they sell them to younger fans, they can shift a shirt, some pyjamas, an action figure, christmas tree decorations, the lot. corrected

The kid's enthusiasm for wrestling and their ability to lose themselves in the storylines and characters (or as some here would put it, swallowing everything the WWE shovel down their throats) is what keeps wrestling at the level it is.

No, kids make it fun and enjoy the show for what it is rather than nitpick details like work rate or backstage politics. The bottom line is WWE wants to give people their money's worth and they do that.
imo...i also think that kids can suspend their disbelief in reality easier than an adult can.

The only show I've been to was a small indy show, and there were annoying adults and kids. The smarky adults were yelling "kayfabe" and "you're hitting your wrist!" when the guys would attack their opponents. The kids were obnoxious because they kept saying "you suck!" to wrestlers throughout the night. They were right next to us and they yelled this at every wrestler, even those who were standing on a balcony after their match. The kids also wandered up and down the aisles throughout the night, so they were kind of distracting. I think that these particular people were more annoying because it was a small venue, though. In a huge crowd, neither one would annoy me. Only drunk morons and people who get in my way annoy me there.

Vince or someone gives them a more women and child friendly character so they'll become merchandise sale generators, and it totally ruins it for us older fans. True kids tend to ruin everything. That is why I'm a strong advocate of family planning, and invest heavily in the contraceptive industry.

Fat, smelly teenage boys who carry replica title belts over their shoulders at house shows ruin wrestling for me.
