Look, we all knew 'Money' was going to win, but I tell you what the WWE did a damn good job in that match. It was a really fun, entertaining spectacle, and did Big show more good than any harm.
Mayweather took way more bumps than I was anticipating, and the finish was done brilliantly I felt.
Throw all that in with Mayweather's manager's brilliant comments like "do it for your kids baby" and "he can't be doing that."
Crowd was into it, and to me it goes down as a success.
Good job WWE, Floyd and the Big Show.

I agree. That match was 10 times more entertaining than it had any right to be.

I wouldn't mind seeing more Mayweather Vs Big Show action at Backlash, aslong as Big Show goes over next time.
Otherwise, get Mayweather off my TV.

I wouldn't assume there were many Mayweather fans watching, but being a huge one myself, there were some nervy moments at times during that match given the risk involved.
In that sense, it was another factor that added to the melting pot of a highly entertaining match.

I thought it exceeded expectations. Granted, those expectations were pretty low going into the match, but the crowd was into it after a slow start. I'm surprised Mayweather took some of those bumps, specifically the sidewalk slam.
It was good for what it was supposed to be and it served it's purpose.

You have to stop being a mark and wanting the wrestler to go over the boxer for silly reasons. Mayweather is going to stay on your television because he's entertaining and he's a trooper. |

Mayweather put up a good showing and was suprised on how much he let big show beat up on him.

Mayweather and Snoop are two of the best celebrity guests WWE has had. Anyone tuning in late who didn't know who Mayweather was (and BTW, I didn't until he appeared on WWE TV) could have easily just assumed Mayweather was a mediocre worker with a boxing gimmick. And I mean that as a compliment.

Yes, it was much more interesting than I thought it was going to be. But the longer I watched the more I wanted Show to win, and it was hard because I knew there was no way he could. So in the end it worked, but I would have loved to see Show at least chase him off in the end or something, though this may be because their story wil continue, who knows

The only thing that pissed me off was Mayweather going over. I was waiting for Show to do his old punch-the-chair-in-the-face spot.

Considering Mayweather bumped like crazy, acted like a heel, didn't try to take all the heat, promoted the show and wrestling like crazy and caused zero problems backstage I don't understand why people hate the guy. Some guys in the WrestleMania thread basically hinted that they didn't like him because of his skin color, which is scary. I would like to think those people are in the minority but who knows. |

That match was a zillion times better than I expected. I expected it to be on 'Akebono vs Big Show' levels of entertaining. WWE definately did a great job with this match.

Show made Mayweather look amazing, Mayweather took more punishment than I expected and his posse did their parts just as well. Matt Sydal and Triple H (or whomever put the match together and trained Floyd) did amazing as well. |

They're in the "minority" no pun intended. I dont think Mayweather bumped like crazy. Show was disgustingly soft working the match. The match in of itself was slow and plodding. I really would like to see a wrestler go over a non wrestling while.. you know "wrestling" wouldnt have seen any problem with Show getting back up from the punch, chokeslaming Mayweather and ending it then and there. But as it turns out Shows now stuck as the "largest AThlete in the World" who just got punked out by a guy 1/3 his size. Bears really well for him in the future.

I say the people are looking at it the wrond way if you expected to see a wrestling match here. The match had great storytelling that dosen't get followed as much because they take it for granted. The story of this match was what it should have been. You can't look at a match between a 150 lb gut and a 400 lbd guy and judge the skill involved by how many "bumps" they take.
Look, taking bumps means getting beat up, let's not forget that. Too many people are looking for "real" things, they look for "real" effort. They know that bump taing is real effort, and if you take no bumps, then your not "putting in the effort". What everyone forgets is that bump taking means getting beat up, as for certain matches, it just makes no sense.
Big Show wasn't going to take any bumps because he wasn't going to get knocked off his feet by mayweather more than once, I think we all get that. Mayweather wasn't going to take any bumps from Show without it being a huge deal.
The story of the match was this: If you're a boxer facing a wrestler, you want to punch, not wrestle. I shouldn't even have to explain that. If you're the boxer and you're in the part of the match where you have the upper hand, why is that? Well, It's because you're effectively punching. If you're in the part of the match where the wrestler has the upper hand, how did that happen? Well, because he grabbed the boxer.
Mayweather is 150 lbs, Show is 440 lbs. Mayweather is a boxer, Show is a wrestler. Mayweather could in fact have taken alot of bumps in the match, but that would mean that a 150 lb guy is getting thuroughly beat up by a 440 lb guy, and no one realistically expects someone to survive that for too long. The story of the match was that Mayweather got the upper hand because he used his speed, running away from show and jabbing. If he did this all day long untill Show dropped, it would have been a plan well executed. The last thing mayweather wanted to do was alow Show to grab him in any way, or it would be over with one move.
That's right, Big Show only needed one move to win the match, unless mayweasther has a ton of heart. Once Show hits his wrestling move, he has complete control, so this stage of the match wasn't going ta happen at the beggining, hense the "slow" start (not bad effort).
Big Show got the upper hand and came as close as you can to the line of realism vs overkill as you possibly can with 3 big moves on Mayweather (with a bunch of smaller moves). When Show went for his 4th and final big move, Mayweather was saved.
Mayweather capitalyzed on an opening and used weopons to KO Big Show. I was Hoping the match would go similar to what It did, and It was a job well done. the match was booked exactly the way it should, and to anyone that thought It could have been netter, I'd like to hear your version.
