King mentioned it.
Adamle mentioned it and has removed him from the Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven.
I have a feeling this might not be a work.
If it's true, I hope he gets better soon and takes the proper time to heal from his injury. He's ben going full force for the WWE for the past several years. I know this is kinda bad to say, but this injury (if true) could provide him with some much needed and deserved rest he hasn't had a chance to get.

Well, this did come up suddenly, and injuries like John's probably built over time. I think this is an excellent way to gain Batista heat for their next match together.

Wasn't it said it was a herniated disc? Those can happen with a quickness. Also, being John Cena and the position he is in within the company, he might not have wanted to complain about pain for fear of losing his spot or Vince getting pissed.

Rats. Well, like others have stated, he's not carrying Raw on his back, so he can rest without the show losing steam.

Herniated discs take time to develop, unless you get hit just right. That being, a shot straight down from the head would be what this would take. They can be treated with surgery, or you can also try chiropractic treatments. The chiropractic treatments take longer to take effect, but they are in and of itself a therapy. The surgery will take effect instantaneously, but will require therapy and rehabilitation, and spinal surgeries have a lot that can go wrong. If he's experiencing numbness in his fingers, it's probably the disc between C4 and C5. I actually had a pinched nerve there once because of the way I sleep. I was actually expecting the title to go to him this time around.

I can't stand him as a main eventer and I think he is extremely boring and always has been, but he seems like a nice enough guy. These kinds of injuries aren't anything to smurf with. He needs to take cues from those that went before him and learn from their mistakes. He needs to take time off and do it right, or else risk smurfing up his whole life. I don't care to see him on my TV, but that doesn't mean I want him in a wheelchair, either.

Cena is going to see Doc. Youngblood (neck surgeon to WWE Superstars) down in San Antonio this week to see how bad his neck on Wednesday according to PWInsider.com

God forbid it gets to a point where it gets THIS bad, but if it comes down to it I hope Cena would go with the neck fusion surgery that Edge and co. got. Don't go Kurt's route.

I really hope Cena will be alright. I don't want his career to be cut short like Stone Cold.

I have a feeling Cena will be out of the Unforgiven main event and they'll replace him with Mysterio or something. He shouldn't be wrestling with any sort of neck issues. Good call. Although I question the use of Mysterio in this match, as he may be as bad off as Cena is with his injuries right now. And really, I'm glad he's taking care of this. As mentioned, I'd hate to see him develop problems like guys like Arn and Paul Orndorf and Kurt Angle. But...did anyone see that today and almost think it could be a wellness issue cover?

Well while I never wish anyone injury this is what Super Cena gets for trying to carry the entire WWE on his shoulders (sometimes litterally).

I won't go in to details, but if you visitied PWInsider, com this morning and saw that members only headline talking about an injury ... well there you go. Sign up if you want details, but it is Cena and it is his neck. EDIT: There is no way I am paying for news. I don't do it for newspaper news sites, I am sure as smurf not doing it for wrestling sites when the news will come out within a day at most. It's stupid and a waste of my money.

I wasn't sure as it sounded like newz to me, but if it's as serious as it sounds, I hope he bounces back from it. QFMFT!

Hopefully he comes back by Wrestlemania Ok, but he best not be winning any more Rumbles in order to get there... I have a feeling he'll be out until about SummerSlam 2009 though, just an uneducated estimate.

just a sudden thought.... this WOULD be a perfect fake injury to let the Batista/Cena feud simmer until they head into WM where Cena can be slated to make his return and take his revenge on The Animal, would it not?

I don't like Cena... but the way they played it up like Batista caused it was brilliant though to build towards a WrestleMania match if he's back by then. They just gotta turn Batista into a monster heel champion by then.
