*Taken from Lords of Pain* www.lordsofpain.net/news/2008_/1219702606.phpsource: www.f4wonline.comJohn Cena is reportedly having serious problems with his neck, which has caused numbness in one of his arms. Cena had an MRI done Saturday before the Raw brand house show at Madison Square Garden. He returned to the arena and said, "Long story short, my neck is (expletive) up badly." Cena was originally slated to work singles matches at this weekend's house shows, but they were turned into tags with Batista as his partner. Batista worked the majority of their tag matches at all three shows. Cena has yet to indicate if he's going to be taking some time off or not.

Wow, pretty brief.
"Bad shape with his neck" could be taken out of proportion and maybe it's not as bad they'd have you believe.
I'd rather hear a more detailed report and then I'd consider believing it.

Kind of like Jeff Hardy's broken neck before SummerSlam? How's that working out?

Sign up if you want details, but it is Cena and it is his neck.

I wasn't sure as it sounded like newz to me, but if it's as serious as it sounds, I hope he bounces back from it.

Well the news is on every message board now. Dave and Bryan, plus the guys at PWI aren't going to be too happy about that.

According to reports, John Cena is reportedly having serious problems with his neck that is causing numbness in one of his arms.
Cena had an MRI done on Saturday before the Raw house show at Madison Square Garden and when he returned to the arena he was describing his neck as being messed up pretty badly to those around him. Cena's neck issues was the reason the company booked him in tags over the weekend. He has yet to indicate to anyone if he was going to take time off to heal right now.
More as we get it.

JOHN CENA DEALING WITH NECK INJURY by Mike Johnson @ 6:31 PM on 8/25/2008 As I broke this morning on my PWInsider.com Elite Hotline, WWE's John Cena has been dealing with a neck issue for several weeks and was sent by the company for tests over the weekend to determine the severity of the injury. At the house shows over the weekend, Cena's scheduled singles bouts with Chris Jericho were turned into tag bouts featuring Cena & Batista vs. Jericho & Kane. In the bouts, Batista carried most of the work for the babyface team, with Cena taking no bumps. Cena did execute a bulldog on Jericho and an FU on Kane, but nothing beyond that physically. The early word is that Cena won't miss any ring time but until they are sure of the issue, he will be booked into situations similar to the tag bouts over the weekend to protect himself from physically exerting himself and causing further issues. As I noted, this news was initially broken on my PWInsider.com audio update this afternoon, which also features exclusive news on Takeshi Morishima and WWE, Mick Foley's WWE status, a former WWE personality who married a current WWE star recently and more. PWI must have noticed it already being out on message boards. They've posted the free version on the site now.
*EDIT*
Squizz beat me to it.

Geez, He needs to take time off. Say what you will about the guy, but he's been pretty damn reliable for the WWE for several years.

I knew something was fishy about Batista's match with him! Batista used kryptonite and it's weakened Cena! This cannot go unpunished.

They're not doing much with him right now, they can afford to give him time off to heal.

With all the matches he has had (gimmicked and non) and going non-stop for nearly 6 years, this shouldn't really be a surprise. Don't get me wrong, I am not wishing this on him or saying he deserves it but, people that have worked a similar schedule have had this happen to them as well. I wish him the best.

Maybe it's just due to my blind love of Punk, the Jericho/HBK feud, and my general indifference towards Cena... but he's not really NEEDED on RAW right now. Take some time off.. do what needs to be done, and hopefully he'll come back and have quite a few more years left in him.
Austin would probably still be going today had he taken the proper time off for his neck... but the company wasn't in a position at all to let him do that. Cena isn't very integral to RAW at this point, so it'd be a shame to see him make the injury worse and worse and work his way to early retirement for no good reason.

Sucks to be Cena - he should follow doctors' orders, get fully healed up and come back fresh. We thought that was what was going to happen with his pec injury, but he was back too quick to get over his staleness at the time.
