The lack of Mr Backlund is due to him turning them down several times. I believe his reason is disliking the direction the company has taken. It has nothing to do with them being worried about him giving a speech. Actually, you're confusing Backlund with Bruno Sammartino, I think. Sammartino has repeatedly refused invitations to the HOF because of his hatred for Vince McMahon and the direction he's taken the company and pro wrestling in general. As of a few years ago, Backlund believed he still had a few good years to give to the business. He believed he was too "young" to be in the HOF and had a few good years left to his career. I don't know if he still feels the same way today. I think the reason we don't have a HOF building is because it wouldn't be financially viable. A HOF building requires......well, a building. Plus things like electricity, heat, A/C, etc. Plus a staff. There's a lot of money involved in a physical HOF building, and let's face it.....not a whole lot of people would visit. Sure, there would be an influx of visitors at first, but I think it would die quickly and they wouldn't get anywhere near enough business to be able to keep the place open. And as for Warrior......I'm not going to say whether or not this story is newz. How many times have we heard about wrestler XYZ having some kind of hatred for Vince, the WWE, or whoever, only to turn around and work with him again once Vince starts writing a fat paycheck? If Vince thinks there's money in a HOF induction, he'll write another check, and Warrior will happily take it and bask in being relevant again for another 15 minutes. Does he deserve to be inducted? The guy was one of the biggest wrestling icons of the 80's/early 90's. That fact alone makes him qualified, even if he did go batshit crazy afterwards.

Yeah, Pete Rose deserved his spot over Warrior...I completely agree! /sarcasm Didn't someone refuse entry because Pete Rose got in before he was even considered? Mr T and to be fair he has a point.

He deserves it. I'll be disappointed if his Hall of Fame speech is less then 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 words long.

Re: HOF Museum: My hypothesis on this one is that Vince doesn't want to build a museum to his life's work. Shane would have no problems doing so, but Vince doesn't. But it doesn't matter. The WWE treats this hall with the utmost respect, and even if it's just a fictional hallway in Titan Tower with some pictures on the wall, it's still treated as important.
Re: Warrior: Warrior had a decent impact on the business, and inducting him could sell some DVDs and merchandise, as well as provide a headliner for the hall, which are running low. Since JR has made fun of the death of Heath Ledger, and Cena calls people gay all the time, I fail to see what the problem with Jim Warrior would be?

As long as he doesn't go on some long-winded speech about his political views, I'm all for it.

Live mic situation has seemed to also prevent Bob Backlund from being inducted it seems, especially when he was schilling his run for congress without permission. The lack of Mr Backlund is due to him turning them down several times. I believe his reason is disliking the direction the company has taken. It has nothing to do with them being worried about him giving a speech. Also, for all the attacks on Warrior's character...I personally find his beliefs far less than savory, but to pretend he'd be the only asshole in the group is a huge stretch. Not to stir up a hornet's nest, but Bill Watts was inducted last year, despite his infamous comments in the Torch. As someone once said regarding the Baseball Hall of Fame "If you took out all the drunks, racists, etc, there'd be nobody left in it. " JR said a couple years ago that Backlund has been asked, but turned it down because he believes he has another full time run in him.

He should definetely be in without a doubt, but who do you think would induct him? Maybe Gene Okerlund or Fink.

Why they don't made a HOF in TITAN TOWERS?
I believe than there they will not expend too much money in mantention and maybe they could earn a few buckets

I personally despise his political hateful hypocritical views.
But he does deserve to be in the HOF. He was one of the biggest WWF wrestling stars of that time, and wow he was insanely over. He was equal, if not more perhaps, than Hogan by Toronto.

Everybody going on and on about Warrior being a lunatic and not being able to get in front of a live mic should eatch his shoot interview. the man is calm and collected the whole time, he's not some insane, unbalanced loon. If anything, i suspect his "crazy warrior" persona may be a work. The whole part of him changing his name to Warrior isn't as crazy as it looks on the surface, he did it so he can still be billed as The Warrior without catching a lawsuit from Vince McMahon. As it stands, yes he deserves to be in. How many of you that grew up around the time he was in the WWF actually sat round saying "Oh, he has a crappy workrate!"? The guy was crazy over, end of story. Did he know many moves? No, but more people gave a damn about his 1 gorilla press then all 1,000 of Dean Malenko's holds. Warrior may be the most unique performer, maybe of all time honestly. You can't really say there anyone ever truly like him, unless you count when WCW tried to blatantly rip him off in Renegade as a fun bait and switch. Give the man his due, at one point he was more over then Hulk Hogan, and got a clean pin over him. Not to mention he's the pnly IC Champ I can recall off the top of my head that pinned the World Champ clean.

It's the WWE Hall of Fame, and Warrior was one of the WWE's biggest stars of all time in terms of fan support. Yeah, for about a minute in his three times with the company. I would like to see him inducted and he does deserve it. Not just more than a lot of the others who have gone in already but in his own right as well. He was I.C and WWF Champion a big part of the WWF shifting form the 80's to the 90's. Had excellent feuds and matches with Rude, Hogan and Savage three of the biggest names in wrestling history. He was as popular and some would say even more popular than Hulk Hogan in 1990. He was billed as the man to take Hogans spot and was finally the man who beat Hogan for his first clean finish in the WWF. Warrior also had two of the best and most talked about Mania matches in history (6 against Hogan which was the first ever champion vs champion match and first ever face vs face for the Wrestlemania main event as well as WM 7 the legendary retirement match against Savage). He was WWF champion for a relatively shor6t term yes however he was one of the WWF biggest names of the 90;s as well as being very popular from 1989-1992 when he left as one of the most popular wrestlers in WWF and wrestling history. Also his promos and interviews were fully charged and in your face which were very unlike anything ever saw in the WWF before or since. Warrior was one of a kind. He also had a short stint in 1996 which due mostly to completion at that time wasn;t nearly as good as his earlier run his character was also out of the time for The New Generation Era. His run in WCW was also memorable for if nothing else comedy and one of the worst matches in wrestling history. This was more to do with the way he was booked and used rather than Warrior himself though. I like Warrior Iam not his biggest fan however I do feel he gets a lot more flack on these boards than even is remotely fair to him. He does deserve a induction into the hall of fame. Also I would like to see a much better Warrior DVD the the last one as we all know was a burial which was again very unfair to the Warrior.

I think personally Warrior's matches that are being released as parts of Savage's set, and the Summerslam and Survivor Series DVDs are a MUCH more fair representation of his career and his work than that hatchet job DVD McMahon did on him.

He basically defined wrestling in the late 80's and early 90's as He was a larger than life charater that fans loved and yeah at one point he was bigger than Hogan which led in my view the best match of both men's career at WM 6 so yeah i think he deserves a place.
As for people claiming its nuts that he changed his name legally to Warrior who cares does that mean Rob Zombie's a nutter cos he did the same thing no it makes sense cos chances are if some dude recgonises him on the street they dont yell "HEY JIM HELLWIG I USED TO LOVE YOU MAN"
and sure His career was not the longest but in the short time he had great fueds with Hogan,Rude,Andre and Savage I mean the original Guns n Roses entire career was short but it didnt stop them becoming one of rock n roll's biggest bands and it didnt stop Warrior becoming one of Wrestlings biggest stars.

Warrior before Savage? I do NOT approve. Then Vince and Savage better get crackin on burying whatever hatchet they have and won't talk about. It's really all about who's the big name that's on decent terms with Vince.

Also I agree that Savage should also go in and perhaps before Warrior. Although I don;t think it matters too much as long as Savage (and Warrior) goes in. Does anyone know for sure that Savage/McMahon legit have some heat with each other or is it just news and specul;ation as Savage is the only big name (except for Warrior) McMahon has not worked with since WCW went out of business?. Maybe it's just choice on McMahon or Savage part not to work with WWE again I mean there is not legit reason why he should is there Also I would like to see another documentary made of Warrior not like the hatchet job done on him a few years ago. A documentary of Savage would be great also and if they both have an interview (like Bret Harts DVD) during the DVD all the better.

Let me ask this, though: who would they possibly get to induct him?
I'm a huge fan of the character, but the man seems to have caused just about everyone who was in the business during his run to have a strong dislike for him.
