Doesn't matter. Rey has joined the ranks of Jeff Hardy, Undertaker, Morrison (when he was Nitro) as all of a sudden hated when defeating punk for a title or have a string of victories on him. Not true. The majority of the board has gone sour on Rey long before his current feud with Punk. But this bad?

I don't see how anyone can argue that Punk fans aren't anti anyone who goes over him. I like the guy too, but this has gotten beyond ridiculous.
So has the anti-Mysterio sentiment, for that matter... especially considering he's coming off arguably the strongest year of his career.

I like Rey. He does give a lot in his matches even hurt which I see why he knees are always hurt. Because there not one guy who relays on his legs more then Mysterio. His style is all about speed. running, Jumping of the ropes, flips, and kicks.
I can't stand the set up to the 619. The random falling into the ropes to set it or hint in only his matches is lame. Yes he proformces as dropped a lot. But when against a Jericho or someone smaller. He does fine. Jericho matches was good because they worked before and know each other. They did well in WCW against each other.
I don't think Mysterio may not win at this PPV. There been nothing yet said about Mysterio mask being on the line. It only been if Punk losses he shaves his head. I have a hard time thinking about a bald Punk.

He would look sick and even more insane then he does now.

I seriously can't stand Rey anymore. The whole "feud" with Punk has been so ridiculously one sided, in Rey's favor. It's absolutely pathetic. Punk is easily the hottest act in the WWE right now. And they want to bury it, for whatever reason, by having him lose any and every match against Rey. Gahh...it's frustrated me so much, i flip the channel each and every time I see Rey. I know I cant be alone on this. I feel the same exact way hopefully he wins at extreme rules but I doubt it. The only good thing that could come out of that is a bald CM Punk with the hobo beard and chest hair Who knows, he might get rid of the Jesus hair and beared, be all clean shaven like Minor Threat's Ian Mackaye, the father of Straight Edge...let the SES be more Hardcore is what I say.

What happened during the Kane feud? Was it that one-sided? Doesn't matter. Rey has joined the ranks of Jeff Hardy, Undertaker, Morrison (when he was Nitro) as all of a sudden hated when defeating punk for a title or have a string of victories on him. No. I've disliked Rey since 06.

I like Rey. I've always enjoyed watching him wrestle. That being said, I can't stand 80 to 90 percent of the feuds he's in.
Heel says Rey is "hiding behind a mask" or "I will take what is most precious to you" etc. Rey says "The mask is tradition! It is familia!" Rey wins.

Rey's getting on my last nerve too. I can look past how he always wins his feuds, because the kids love him, he sells a ton of merchandise, and I'm sure he's a big reason for the Hispanic rating on Smackdown.
I look at him as John Cena-lite, which is fine, because WWE is a business after all, and Mysterio sells merchandise. But really, has anybody come out of a feud with him looking better recently? Kane was red hot (no pun intended) when he went beserk and started carrying that sack around on Raw. While everybody thought it was his old mask, it turned out to be Mysterio's. What happens next? Rey crushes Kane at every turn. Ziggler lost countless times to him, and now Punk is jobbing left and right to him now.

booking aside (a rather big aside, I admit for now) I can safely say without rhetoric or hyperbole, as an ENORMOUS fan of CM Punk, that Rey Mysterio is one of the most over, respected, and furthermore influential professional wrestlers of the last 25 years. if you don't personally enjoy him, then I can say to each his own. but anything past that just isn't paying attention to reality.

The limitations of Rey's character have become obvious to all. And, honestly, if the man could cut a better promo, this thread wouldn't even exist.

Good They can unmask him and turn him heel and have him ignore kids like he does away from the ring.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing people claim that CM Punk fans are basically whiny and biased. Does it ever occur to any of you that maybe we just really don't like the other guy? I know I complained just as much when Rey was mopping the floor with:
- Chavo Guerrero - Eddie Guerrero - Kane - Dolph Ziggler - Mike Knox - JBL
And there are probably more that I'm forgetting. The point is that Rey Mysterio is a joke. I may not like the idea of John Cena kicking everyone's ass, but at least I can take one look at him and believe it. I can't buy that little runt constantly winning.

I do wish he'd do the leg drop again, but I can see why he doesn't do the rana anymore, it's just too much for his knees to take now. Is the 619 contrived? Yes. But so was the People Elbow, the Worm, Undertakers "Old School" etc

Pretty much if your name isnt Jericho,CM Punk or Daniel Bryan, then your screwed,i honestly never read to many positive things about anyone else in the WWE apart from those three.Cena is Hated,Orton is hated,Triple H is the second coming of Hitler for many,Undertaker never puts anyone over,Rey is a joke,Big Show is awful ect ect..To many take everything far to seriously,Punk is fine and while he is losing a bit to much against Rey,im sure sooner or later,he will get his win over him.

I've been totally sick of Rey Misterio since before he was given the World Title. I think it all started with that ladder match against Eddie Guerrero at SummerSlam 2005.

I love how threads like this always start up about whoever Punk's feuding with at the moment, providing he isn't decisively winning every encounter. If anything, I think Rey's been on a tremendous roll since last year, stealing the show at the '09 elimination chamber, giving us one of the strongest feuds of the year against Jericho, and putting on a spectacular match against Morrison that should've been a career-defining moment for the younger man. I'd say he's one of the most talented in-ring workers in WWE today (hell, with HBK gone, I'm tempted to consider him *THE* best active worker on the roster), and on top of that he's tremendously over and sells a crapload of merchandise. Rey's easily one of the company's biggest assets at the moment. I can easily find multiple threads where rey is mentioned negatively. i find the punk haters to be the most irritating of all the various hate cliq's here. being and asset and getting crowd pops two different things, does he get em on there feet, sure, does he put over younger stars or make his feuds look at all credible, not in the least.

Yea, the only thing that would make this okay is if it was old Mysterio. But Post-2007 Mysterio (or whatever year it was he returned from injury at SummerSlam) has been garbage in the ring. Half the time he doesn't even f***ing jump after the 619, he just climbs to the top rope and falls on the guy. Bull. His performances in the '09 EC and feuds with Jericho and Ziggler have been the best work he's ever done. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA choose virtually ANY match of his from ECW, WCW, and the first 2 years of his WWE run and then come back on this one...dude is a shell of a shell of a shell of his former self

I'll say it again If this was 2008 I might agree with a lot of the people here claiming that he can't work anymore. But in 2009 Mysterio was easily WWE's best worker of the year. No one had as many great performances as him that year. And this year he hasn't been to shabby either.
