There are a lot of people getting mad in this thread, and that's what he wants out of this. Fanning the flames is all Bischoff is doing, the man is known for controversy and he just wants to rile people up.

Common sense would dictate that when it came down to it, Eric never gave those guys the chance to elevate themselves past midcard status. I'd argue that yeah, Bischoff gave them their breakout, but he never gave them the opportunity to move further than the midcard. And the X-Division is the hottest its been in years? It almost seems like they're gearing up to have Douglas Williams throw the damn belt in the trash. I hate to be that guy, but I feel as if this is one time Eric's getting criticism he deserves. I hate to rain on a good witch hunt, but the quote Eric Bischoff is being criticized for wasn't even his own... Why Bischoff reposted it, I don't know, but given his history of pushing the so-called "vanilla midgets" and their moonsaults, I highly doubt it's because he agrees with it, at least not entirely (he probably agreed with the importance of characters and storylines). As for The Finest Thing In Life, he's playing the snobby, elitist technical wrestler who looks down upon the aerial-dominant wrestlers. Obviously Bischoff knows these guys are crowd favorites which is why the anti-high flyer is being booked as a heel.

Just for the record, the majority of posts I've see haven't so much blasted Bischoff as they've complained about the "IWC" reference in general.

PWTorch should get their facts straight before posting newz on thier site. The story really didn't change all that much though, to be honest - it went from Bischoff saying something to Bischoff endorsing something. Either way, he agrees.

Wouldn't Amazing Red be a "vanilla midget"? Or the X division in general?

Wouldn't Amazing Red be a "vanilla midget"? Or the X division in general? Hence why Matt Morgan gets to clubber Red at every opportunity.

Well I must say I kind of agree with Eric on the vanilla midgets comments and how he and hogan believe that the smaller guys just will not draw the big crowds.
Smaller talented good workers bring alot to the show for sure as they did in WCW in the late 90s.. But lets be honest here..... Was the likes of Benoit or Guerrero or Evan Bourne or an Owen Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, CM punk or the 50 thousand cruiserweight spotmonkeys going to outdraw or captivate a country like Hogan, Austin, Rock, Warrior, Bruno or a Goldberg did? Of course not.. They just can't be your go to guys by and long unless they have that x factor.. But truth be told.. the guys who have drawn the biggest crowds, the money, the viewership etc have been bigger guys..
And how many times did you see Rock, Austin, Goldberg, Warrior, or Cena today and all the other big guys climb on the top rope? And these are probably the highest paid highest drawing wrestlers there have been bearing a few smaller guys here and there like a Flair etc. But by an large wrestling IS a big man business.. Always has been always will be.. Sorry to say but its true.
Smaller guys have their niche of fans, but the guys who appeal to the masses historically have been bigger guys.
If you are a kid or young adult watching wrestling, youre going to be more in awe of a larger than life character built like a tank all roided up. Not a a guy no bigger than your next door neighbor that you could possibly beat up...

Yeah, you tell us Uncle Eric. I mean, you never had a cruiserweight division... wait. Ok, you never put the heavyweight title on a so-called "vanilla midget" in order to convince him not to jump... wait.

It was Sullivan.
And WCW's cruiserweight division was great, because the workers were great.
Bischoff had very little to do with their actual success other than giving them a slot on Nitro and very little storylines to work with.
I love the whole "small guys can't draw" mentality as much as the next person, but when was the last time a small guy given a story and a push like a big guy?
Oh yeah - it was Rey Mysterio Jr. One of WWE's biggest money makers today.

Maybe the most popular wrestler under Cena? I'm pretty sure Dixie Carter would flip her wig if she had the potential to earn what he brings in. Anyway, Bisch needs to learn not to endorse such bulls***. Alienating fans is the opposite of what he needs to do. He just makes me NOT want to turn into iMPACT. Ever. Also IMPACT might have said some of the dumbest things I've ever read on the internetz in this thread.

The IWC (myself included) must be morons. A lot of us support TNA after all of the s*** they have produced. Which amazes me. If I don't like the direction a show goes into, I stop watching until word gets around that things have righted themselves. Why help pay their bills when you don't like what they're doing? The best way to fix TNA is to ignore it so Dixie will have no choice but to cut the leeches like Bischooff and run her business like it should be run. And if she doesn't have the smarts to do that, then TNA has no business existing. I think it was a dumb move for Cornette to express himself as he did, but besides his murder fantasies against Russo (which I don't agree with but understand) he had a lot of solid points as to why TNA is on a collision course with disaster. It hurts to see something you wanted to succeed, and had nearly all the ingredients to succeed, get demolished by the same morons who demolished WCW but if Dixie is too dumb to read "The Death of WCW" then there's nothing anyone can do to make things right. Cornette needs to sit back, focus on ROH, and let nature take it's course with TNA. If, I mean WHEN TNA dies he can comfort himself with being the figurehead of the number 2 promotion in North America.

No real support? Rey Mysterio- 5x Cruiserweight Champion
- 3x Tag Team Champion
Chris Benoit- 1x World Champion
- 2x United States Champion
- 2x Tag Team Champion
- 3x Television Champion
- A spot in the legendary 4 Horseman
Dean Malenko- 1x United States Champion
- 1x Tag Team Champion
- 4x Cruiserweight Champion
- A spot in the legendary 4 Horseman
Eddie Guerrero- 1x United States Champion
- 2x Cruiserweight Champion
- A spot in the legendary L.W.O.
As for Chris Jericho, I'll have to agree with Bischoff that he's not a real draw. A decent overall performer, sure, but when he's Chris Jericho ever given us ratings or buyrates outside the normal ho-hum WWE numbers? He's a temporary placeholder, not a guy you build your main event around. Jericho defending the title at Wrestlemania, 70,000 paying fans, an AJ Styles title defense at the TNA PPV the same month, 0 paying fans. And I'm sure the buy rate for WM will be a tad bit better. And if you switch the two, the numbers don't change.,
