Such a crime to some people? To me, it's actually pretty realistic. Show two people (ESPECIALLY fighters) get into a verbal argument, you'll often see the guy getting insults thrown at him smile it off, whether it's getting to him/her or not. This is a common human trait. It does not mean that Cena is no-selling anything. It would mean something if things got physical, but they didn't...and they won't for several more weeks. It makes Rock look like a chump for not slapping that smirk off his face. Imagine if he did that during the Kane feud, so I don't know why it's any different here. Cena feels he's up against the wall so he only responds with a shit eating grin...the same thing happens when the fans are booing him...it's not an edge...it's a "I don't know what else to do" mannerism. And yes, the people who do this in fights ARE the ones who usually get their asses kicked.

It's annoying. There are very few times where he shows any sort of emotion that isn't happiness or nonchalance. These aren't one-off boxing matches. They're supposed to be gripping feuds where someone gets pissed off enough to drag it out. And rarely do you ever get anything that isn't mugging for the camera with Cena.

I don't believe he feels he's up against a wall You mean as a character or the actual person? You see...the way that Cena reacts to anything that he feels he can't respond to it verbally is to laugh at it. He's been doing this for years when he gets booed, he smugly grins. Now, while I agree that Cena can own the Rock in an argument, whenever an insult is thrown his way...he calmly goes "Whoa, haha...good one!". As far as being a character, they both said that if Cena doesn't beat the Rock at Wrestlemania...he's nothing...or something to that magnitude. You would think that a character who said that wouldn't bascially sit there and just laugh off everything that was being thrown at him. That's his main counterattack...just laugh. John is capable of doing more than that. At this point, they should stop bothering with "who is winning the argument" and more of "how can we salvage this feud to get as many people to buy our PPV".

I am a fan of The Rock. He will beat John Cena at Wrestlemania.

He smiled, interrupted Rock, looked at the crowd and did a nice fake out "oh no" face. Most of the segment was him standing there was a s*** eating grin on his face. I don't care what he says when he's in that ring, but when your demeanor is THAT, then it comes off like you don't care, and if you don't care...why should I?

Cena's mannerisms are bringing the angle down for me considerably...... that and the lame jokes from him and The Rock that have been going on for nearly a year.

It's just hard to take anything seriously when he's smiling like a jackass. Imagine the great promos with Cena standing there with a s*** eating grin. It just doesn't work.

I just took a look at it, and man it was brutal.
John Cena cuts his whole promo about I want The Rock, I don't want Dwyane Johnson, I want the best, I want to beat the man not the facsimile.
Out comes The Rock, serious as a heart attack, maybe more serious then he has been for this entire feud and Cena responds with....trollface? How do you smirk this off when it was exactly what you asked for?
It killed it for me. Every time I got caught up in the intensity of Rock's promo, they cut to the trollface and that put an end to that.
And then even worse once the Rock is safely away and after Cena trollfaced through all of the Rock's intensity then he wants to talk about how he's against the wall and how much this means to him.
How serious can it be when your rival got in your grill, talked about ripping your throat out and kicking your ass and you smirked it off?
Come on man.
And oh WWE, it was just as lame the week before when Rock did it- stop having one of them have nothing to say until the other safely buggers off. It makes them look weak at best.

Once again, it's fighting psychology. It's not so much "none of what you're saying matters to me" as "keep talking, you're just giving me more of a reason to destroy you". Watch any conference between two boxers before a big fight. You see it a lot.
Not to mention that this is the FIRST time Rock really got serious. Before that it was all comedy schtick. Rock was the one not taking the feud seriously, not Cena. Maybe Cena's grin was saying "oh, NOW you're taking this seriously? I must be getting to you at last".

That'd maybe make sense if Cena hadn't been the one to call The Rock out in the first place, or if these two weren't suppose to hate each other.

Cena's contrasting characters is so f***ing absurd. And I'm not trying to hate on Cena here because I loved the promos he cut last year with Punk. They both made me give a DAMN about that feud...seriously...that was some of the best work I've ever seen out of Cena...why can't he do something like that here? Give me a f***ing reason to care outside of the fact that you "don't like eachother".

Thank you. What the HELL is this feud about. At best, Cena sounds like a little boy, whining that the Rock left, and now he's Dwayne. He needs to beat the Rock. Still have no idea why?
The last part of that promo just sucked. Cena, waiting to talk tough after Rock walked away, when he could have ripped him a new one when he was in his face instead, he just smiled like an idiot, really made him look exactly like what The Rock said he was.

I have a feeling that WWE purposely don't want Rock and Cena to plan things out and that they "just do their own thing" and "let the fans decide". I hate this notion...I hate it because it doesn't work. There needs to be a set pattern where one guy trumps the other one week and vice versa. I go back to the whole Cena/Punk thing because I really do think that they worked it out together well in advance to let it blossom into something worthwhile. Throwing insults at each other with no substance does nothing...and you know something...it shows that there's no reason for them to hate eachother.

Dude...even if you were pointing out a criticism of his, that doesn't make you anti-Cena. I have no idea why on this board where any complaint is seen as "hating".
