I like lord tensai but honestly if it does, maybe they shouldnt of taken a visible wrestler in the attitude era to about 2004 and repackaged him as a wrestler from japan as if nothing happened.
It was a flawed concept from the begining.
Plus the character is so absurd,it's unavoidable from mockery. And the image of a-train being repackaged as kwang in 2012 is pretty funny.
Also, that's probably one of the only times albert has gotten chants from a wwe crowd. I think it could lead to something actually good for him because for the first time, hes actually getting real reactions even if it's in mockery.

And also, this should have been said at the beginning of the thread, but I swear to god, I will brain the next person that says "pretending to be Japanese". He's not, and they've said so a billion times. Stop.

Fans were chanting "sexual chocolate" at Mark Henry during his fantastic world title reign last year, and it didn't hurt him.

He needs new pants.. Longer pants.. Also, he either needs a tattoo on his back or to regrow his back hair. Having his arms, shoulders, and stomach covered in them while his back's completely bare just looks ridiculous.

Maybe the crowd should show a little patience for once, instead of just wanting to chant something at any slow-ish moment. It's not like they were reacting for anything tonight other than Brock or Cena anyway. I know they paid they can do what they want, but that doesn't make it less irritating. I guess it's more WWE's fault though, it's not like they've made us care enough for the "well-being" of any of these midcarders, or really anyone on the roster for that matter. Faces just can't get sympathy anymore. I agree with ya since I like the squashes, but the impetus ain't on the crowd to fit into what the WWE wants to show 'em, it's the other way 'round. Good points though. Thanks. I agree, it's WWE that needs to give the crowd what they want. A big part of the old school heel squash match psychology is that the fans care about the babyface, and this big jerkoff comes in and destroys the poor guy. It doesn't work when the fans don't care about babyfaces anymore, and that's WWE's fault to some extent.

He's not, and they've said so a billion times. Stop. He's pretending to be Japanese. They're employing like at least ten signifiers of "Japanese" with his gimmick, look, tron, etc. If you just turned it on and were five years old you'd think he was a japanese guy.

For all the praise people gave him, I've yet to be fittingly convinced that he won't just be released at some point near the end of this year.
Sorry but his matches are just slow.

Yeah, part of the problem is that WWE doesn't have any faces they've bothered building up who they're willing to sacrifice, except Ryder who's pretty quickly losing his steam anyway and they much prefer to feed to established names. Part of the reason why the only time I've liked squash matches at all or found them to work is when Umaga was doing it, since he was crushing people like Flair.

No. The more he stays in this gimmick and eventually gets over the Albert chants will cease

So the whole "embracing the culture" thing they've been spouting just goes right over your head then? Never once have they said "he's Japanese", and, in fact, they've gone out of their way to say the exact OPPOSITE multiple times.

They also had a lengthy bit on Raw talking about how Yoshi took offense and wanted to show was a genuine Japanese fighter could do, while emphasizing that he's not from there himself and instead traveled there and dominated.

I also think they need to go more brutal really. The KO idea is an interesting one, but maybe tweak it a bit so the crowd can really sympathize more. I'll concede I don't have a set idea of what they could do there.

I say go the route they did when Finlay first debuted, and have him win decisively then keep getting DQed because he just won't stop murdering the person. Speaking of, that stupid head-grip thing.... Yeah, I really hope that doesn't become his actual finisher, since that move has never not looked stupid. Also it was weird how Yoshi was dead, he did that to resurrect him, then killed him again.

The Baldo Bomb just doesn't look vicious enough. Don't know where to go with it but that is just the first thing that jumps out at me. Maybe if they are going to have him use the claw, use Bison Smith's Claw Bomb.

That could work, maybe borrow a little of King Kong Bundy's "FIVE!" thing as well. Just something extra.

The Bicycle kick he used to do would have been great for the KO gimmick ... but that's become Sheamus' thing since he's been gone.

He was far too heavily pushed and featured as A-Train to try and repackage him as something else, regardless of being gone eight years. Some of these fans have been around since the 80's and remember all the characters. The best thing they could have done for him would be keeping the name "A-Train", but still having him bring in the Japanese culture and influence to his gimmick.
