They were loud and clear during the unfortunate execution of Yoshi Tatsu.
How long before the WWE addresses them on-air by having Tensai acknowledge his American past...and will it kill the gimmick?

Nah, if this is ruined it will be the fact that as it stands he's a completely generic monster heel doing absolutely nothing unique or interesting.

Unless he murders someone for bringing it up (Ryder?) it will probably have a negative impact on it. I say play into it, have a face bring it up to him or Sakamoto and have Tensai destroy him for it. Make the chants a part of the character.

I don't know, but I sure hope not. I dig what I've seen from him, he's got a unique style of beating the crap out of somebody. His gimmick is very....1990s Mortal Kombat, but his in-ring style is different and fun to watch. Nah, if this is ruined it will be the fact that as it stands he's a completely generic monster heel doing absolutely nothing unique or interesting. Yep, that's all there is to it after two weeks. Snap judgements are fun! That and they're pretending he's Asian, gorsh!

I've liked the two squashes, but they need to do something to get the crowd more involved. The slow pacing is when the Albert chants started.

Snap judgements are fun! One, I said as it stands. Two, there is plenty, plenty of evidence for the idea that WWE will keep right on doing this, as it's a formula that they absolutely love.

It's not like they are denying that it's A-Train. They had a whole article about it being him on WWE.com. He just hasn't gotten mic time yet to discuss the transformation even though the commentary provided a nice explanation.

I've liked the two squashes, but they need to do something to get the crowd more involved. The slow pacing is when the Albert chants started. Maybe the crowd should show a little patience for once, instead of just wanting to chant something at any slow-ish moment. It's not like they were reacting for anything tonight other than Brock or Cena anyway. I know they paid they can do what they want, but that doesn't make it less irritating. I guess it's more WWE's fault though, it's not like they've made us care enough for the "well-being" of any of these midcarders, or really anyone on the roster for that matter. Faces just can't get sympathy anymore.

Good points though.

They could just change his name to Lord Albert Tensai, or just Lord Albert.

Why would it?
They stated that it was a former WWE competitor that went to Japan and on WWE.com mentioned that he was Albert...
It's not a Moondog Smash thing where they were trying to pass one guy off as a completely different person and the audience not buying it.

Well, they'll be one of the things that ruin the Tensai gimmick.

They need to acknowledge on tv he was Albert. If not, people are going to think they're smart chanting the obvious. They say "former WWE Superstar". Goddamnit, he challenged the Undertaker's streak, say that. "He came in as a young man, had some success, even challenged for the Undertaker's streak. In 2004, he left the WWE to find himself and realize his potential. And after staying in Japan for 7 years, he's now come back, and he's here to dominate the WWE like he did Japan". Is that so hard?

The only thing that can ruin the Lord Tensai gimmick is the gimmick itself.
I've become a big fan of Giant Bernard's in NJPW, and Bad Intentions was an awesome Tag Team.
The Lord Tensai gimmick sucks, IMO.
The guy's improved immensely, but it's hard to tell with these weekly squash matches.
This just seems like Wrestlecrap waiting to happen.

If they didn't chant Albert he wouldn't get any reaction at all.

Make the chants a part of the character. I can't believe I'm going to say this... but Ric is *gulp* right. That's what I've been thinking ever since the chants started. If it goes unaddressed though it's a hindrance. Plus it opens up the opportunity to drop the Tensai gimmick if it doesn't get over and he can go back to being Albert again.
