I want them to start chanting ALBERT during one of his promos really, really loudly until--
"ALBERTOOOOOOO DEL RIOOOOOOOOOOOOO" comes out, looking at the crowd and waving his arms with a disappointed look on his face when he realizes the cheers weren't for him.

It's not like they are denying that it's A-Train. They had a whole article about it being him on WWE.com. He just hasn't gotten mic time yet to discuss the transformation even though the commentary provided a nice explanation. Exactly he just returned 2 weeks ago! Give it time

He's using sterotypical japanese imagery to provoke a heelish response trying to play off the classic ww2 era fear of japan.
I mean dude dressing up like a ninja and wearing calligraphy on your face isn't exactly adapting yourself to japanese culture. I mean shit,I haven't been to japan but I don't think that you're just walking in tokyo and guys who are dressed like ninjas with kanji on their faces spit green mist at people walking by.
It's not really adaptation to a culture, that's blatantly appropriating threatening sterotypes that have been used for foreign heels in the past.

I'd bet they'll spit anything you want in your face, for the right price.

I hope it doesn't because I really like Albert and absolutely loved his work in japan.
With that said.....When I look at him all I can think of is that he's meant to be a Fat Keiji Mutoh. Seriously. I don't think he's playing a foreign heel at all. I think he's trying to be Keiji Mutoh but fat. He's got a slow walking hooded entrance , Japanese music with chanting and red attire. Hell , He's even bald and has a goatee.

Umaga was supposed to flop. "A non-speaking savage gimmick will never get over in the 2000's. How out of date!" and yet, through great ring work, he excelled. Tensai has the option to speak, and can put on good matches. He will be fine. Most monster gimicks have a couple year shelf life tops, and at this point in his career, that may be all Bernard is looking for.

The gimmick is already ruined.
