That promo made me want to kick both Johns in the John.

Oh he doesn't have to be serious. He's just largely incapable of being funny to alot of people so it'd be preferable that he was serious. Most of his attempts at humor are kinda just painful. Last nights promo was one of the most painful. It was uncomfortably bad. He doesnt have to take everything seriously but he doesn't have to suck either. If by "a lot of people" you mean "a handful of people on a wrestling forum." Then yes, Cena is incapable of being funny to a lot of people. Do you honestly think the majority of wrestling fans find Cena humorous? Eh, maybe they do. Adam Sandler's terrible movies still make millions.

Do you honestly think the majority of wrestling fans find Cena humorous? Eh, maybe they do. Adam Sandler's terrible movies still make millions. The ones in the audience did on Monday, mostly kids find that kind of humour hilarious. It also just so happens that kids are the key demographic, so that worked out well. I also found it funny but that kind of humour is fine with me in small doses.

NIce elitism. You thought it sucked so therefore nobody is allowed to enjoy it. People have the right to their opinion. Don't insult them. Todd Martin, the Raw reporter on the Observer/F4W site, claimed it was an indictment of those fans to be laughing and cheering. "Elitism" doesn't even begin to cover it. Todd martin is a mark for himself who lives to tear down whatever WWE does. I don't take him seriously at all.

Is it wrong I didn't mind the promo, since Cena essentially was just taking an overbearing dick of a boss down a peg?

I didn't mind it, I just felt it went too long. I'd say at least 90 to 95 % of WWE promos go on too long whether they are good, bad or in between

Is it wrong I didn't mind the promo, since Cena essentially was just taking an overbearing dick of a boss down a peg? My problem with it, besides the unfunny Ace Ventura homage, was the fact it undercut the stuff with Big Show. Ace had just reduced a seven foot giant and sure fire Hall of Famer to tears, and Cena's out there cracking wise. Cena should have buried Laurenitis in his promo, but played it straight when he did.

That's actually a good point. It does kind of make Cena look like even more of a jerk in that he didn't even seem to feel remotely upset for Johnny firing Big Show like that. I find it hard to believe that he wasn't aware of it. I guess he's still spiteful at him after getting thrown into that spotlight.

Am I alone in being confused as to what this feud's even about? Laurinaitis wants Cena gone because... He's evil, I don't know.

Plus I'd bet Vince is the only authority figure in WWE Ace respects so despite the power he has he's pissed Vince lost his position because of Cena

My problem with it, besides the unfunny Ace Ventura homage I didn't even realize it was supposed to be an Ace Ventura impression until people here mentioned it. And I loved that movie as a kid. Cena didn't get Jim Carrey's "la-hoo-za-her" (loser) thing right at all. I completely disagree. Sure, Todd's a bit smug at times. But he occasionally enjoys RAW and is sometimes even easier on it than I would be. WWE puts on some horrible shows from time to time (and Monday was one of the worst). He gives credit when they do something right. He just hates happy, jokey, annoying troll mode Cena -- much like I do.

Honestly, I see Cena just being a douche like that because his home life sucks and he's about to crack. I was really expecting Ace to ask cena how the divorce was going during the barrage of dumbass loser interruptions and also I am ashamed of my hometown for not booing the s*** out of that horrible segment. Well maybe your hometown shouldn't require each adult ticket purchasers to bring twelve kids with them. Seriously, I have never seen so many children in an audience for Raw. Did they have half priced tickets for kids under ten? Maybe that's part of the reason behind the tone of the promo. If there were a lot of kids in the crowd then Cena was probably choosing to make more of an effort to get them to react and enjoy themselves. Hence, corny jokes and references to movies that came out before they were born. Kids eat that stuff up.

A much better promo would have been if Cena told Ace what an asshole he was for firing Show, that in their match he was going to make Ace regret it and make him lose his job.

If he can fire Big Show for making fun of his voice, why can't he fire Cena for openly mocking him to his face? He's not a current title holder or anything.
