If he can fire Big Show for making fun of his voice, why can't he fire Cena for openly mocking him to his face? He's not a current title holder or anything. Keep in mind that Vince, the Chairman of the Board, lost his own job trying to fire Cena. He's pretty much untouchable, thus the indirect approach of trying to shelve him with the help of hired guns. My theory, anyway.

I like John Cena and usually find myself defending just about everything he does.
That promo was one of the most atrocious things I've ever witnessed. Just brutal.

I completely disagree. Sure, Todd's a bit smug at times. But he occasionally enjoys RAW and is sometimes even easier on it than I would be. WWE puts on some horrible shows from time to time (and Monday was one of the worst). He gives credit when they do something right. He just hates happy, jokey, annoying troll mode Cena -- much like I do. That's fine if he doesn't like Cena. But he didn't have to insult people who did and act like his way of doing things is the only way it can be done. He is a mark for himself.
